Perry should pull DC off the trade table and concentrate on moving the vets (DDR, Lavine or Monk).
Gotta give playing time for the young guys to show if they can be a 2 way monster in the league.
Everyone that even sniffs the NBA looked good. It did help that Chicago's best player left early in the third. But we dominated first quarter and second half. Bulls had a nice Q2.

I don't think DC is actually on the trade block.
I think they offered him up if a 22 year old Forward like Kuminga was coming back. Gotta give something to get something. But I seriously doubt we've been trying to actually move him.
He's just too closely aligned with what Perry and Christie have said they want this team to be. Like literally the exact poster child of their vision for this squad. And hopefully, they're not dumb enough to give up on him, after last season was essentially a red-shirt year.

Gotta get creative on how you finagle getting Monk/Keon/Carter all on the floor. Good thing we didn't sign a 32 year old FA guard or anything...

If Perry doesn't look at that list then compare it to the one he's got starting in season including the guy he just signed for 14 mil a year and see that everything he said is THERE in those names, then this is going south in a hurry.
Good game from all the players we needed to have a good game and most of the 2nd tier guys played like they are at least worth a G-League contract.
Carter redemption game of sorts. He wasn't forced into an unnatural role. It would be interesting to see what he and Keon do as the back court with Nique at 3.
Nique was worth the potential of losing a late first two years from now (although if Spurs have a bad year in 2027 then its a steal). A few lapses but showed good passing skills along with playing with confidence. 19 and 12 and 3/4 from deep. I'll take it.
Maxime really needs to unlearn whatever Stanford coaching put into him to not defend because its inexcusable for a guy his size. But his offensive skills are solid. He did settle for "easy" a few times only to get blocked or challenged late but that will be easier to fix than his defensive hesitation I think. Still an absolute steal in the mid-2nd from what we've seen.
Its rather pointless to win summer league and I don't really know if this team is any good yet because they've had some lapses and let teams back in so far but they have also strutted out to huge leads when the NBA guys are playing.

We will see what the season looks like and I am no Dennis Schröder fan but we need a competent PG with our roster to at least sort out the first half of the season. I think we are 12th or worst in the West and sellers at the deadline and I do understand the argument for winning 20 games or less, but we also can maximize outgoing trade value on DDR/Monk and even Zach by having a competent lead guard running point. And if we're at 12 at the deadline and ship those guys out we could still fall a spot or two - not like past results are any future predictor - but the Kings have had most lottery success when they tried and sold at the deadline vs. the year we actually did tank, finished worst in the league, and were rewarded with the 4th pick for our efforts.

As much as it hurts, moving Monk solves the issue for the most part. Our starting 5 plus Devin, Keon, Cliff, IJ and Max. I think teams are going to be moving to a true 9-10 man rotation due to pace of play and injuries. Speaking of Monk, Vecenie was talking about how devalued one way guards are in the NBA right now citing guys like Norman Powell. He had an all star level season and was basically let go for Pennies on the dollar. Sexton was traded WITH a pick for Nurkic. Jordan Clarkson. Makes sense that Monk has limited value given his contract. He said that archetype is like the running back position in the NFL.

It was fine, but nothing special in a SL game. What makes him special is his ability to make plays for others at the 3 point line for others.

If the plan is to set the table for the takeover in a year or two by the young guys great. If they come in and win like gangbusters, great. The Kings problem is that at some point they always try and skip steps. Last year and the year before was one of the first times in forever that we saw some semblance of development in the G league. We'll see if it continues because that's where "culture" is developed. Not on stopgaps. In the youth of the team. The Kings need to start transitioning to a cleaner cap structure now and stop adding on top of adding like usual.
I would prefer to move DDR before Monk but unless we can sell Zach without taking on a ton of garbage I don't see either having a future beyond the deadline here.
I'd love to move Monk or DDR for Kuminga just because it spreads the minutes around a little and opens up more time for Keon but otherwise we are set up that if in a year or two we don't take on dumb/bad money we can get out of this. I still want draft picks and more opportunities to secure 4 year cheap talent that possibly gets extended for reasonable prices but if we're one of 2-3 teams with more than MLE to offer I'd take being the Kings over Wizards or even the Nets who have never shown any serious effort to compete.

Maximes screening was really good in this one. If he can put that much effort into getting opposing guards off the Kings ball handler then he's going to be a valuable piece even without scoring. Alex Len always found his way back in to the rotation pretty much for that one skill.

He's good in a lot of aspects. I think he has the potential to be much more than Alex Len though.

They’d develop and the end result is a top five pick which can result in a franchise player imagine any of the top four with that core

Count me in the skeptical category. His shoulder injury history and his less than stellar point guard play is cause for concern.
Good overall game.
Not too sloppy for a SL game. Good passing and good unselfish team play.
Bulls were without Matas (lotto pick last year) and lost lotto pick this year due to leg injury during game.
Nique can ball. Has a good handle, makes right play, active, rebounds well, makes good pass, and can hit 3. He's ready for mins at the next level.

Offensively, he looks great, sets screens, rolls hard, picks spots, good fundamentals, has hook with left or right, has range, has a 2-man game, and makes good passes. Defensively he's a mess. He doesn't rebound or defend well enough to be a center. Reaches as opposed to putting himself between player and rim. Timing, instinct, positioning, footwork all need major work.
