This will, of course, be piksi's domain once the season starts but, just as Peja didn't do basketball at home ;), piksi doesn't do pre-season. I suspect he's afraid he'll use up all his good material before the end of the year.

Anyway, here it is ... the place to talk about tonight's game with other Kingsfans.com members.

GO KINGS!!!

are these games on leauge pass by any chance? if so i know just the place to hit up and watch. hope justin gets some minutes tonight. im sick of watching the same starting 5.

yup it's on league pass, the first game it wasn't showing up but it is now which makes me happy.

excited to see the guys ball tonight.

Looking forward to:
Can the Kings show better transition defense
Greene, Moore, Douby the 2nd time through
Wouldn't mind seeing more of J williams...lots more
An appearance by Shakur but with Cisco back it might not happen
Put Greene on Barbosa to see if he can stop him...didn't have anyone last year that could
Over-under on FT attempts by KMart is set at 10...I'm taking the over

I want JW to get some more time. He was played but not enough last game. I would rather have him in there than KT.

Whenever I see the Miller, KT, Artest, KMART, Bibby lineup I yawn a bit.

I think Theus is going to have a hard time getting time for Salmons, Garcia, Douby, and Shakur/Greene. Not to mention JW. Garcia never got a chance to get going and Salmons did then you look down the bench and Kevins been sitting for 10 min. Douby looked good again. Also once again Mikki looks ALOT better with Brad on the floor.

Ugh. Third quarter and Bibby's still our leading rebounder, with 4. Miller has 3, everybody else has 2 or less. No wonder we're down by 11 rebounds.

I agree, chelle. The guys talking about us getting "owned" totally missed the whole point. The score of the game didn't matter. The guys trying to make the team got a GOOD chance to show their stuff and I applaud Reggie for that decision. Pre-season scores and games don't matter anyway. I'm VERY GLAD Theus didn't put the starters back in and try and win the game at the expense of giving the kids some decent PT.

I am perfectly happy with how Reggie coached this game tonight AND I'm glad I got to see Robinson, Caner-Medley, Shakur and Parada on the court.

And Douby gets my player of the night award, hands down!!!

When I posted about getting owned by the Suns, none of those last-mentioned 4 guys had played yet. We were just watching the vets get pasted, which is not so fun.

I was glad to have the youngsters play, too. I don't know if any of them will make the cut, but they deserve a fair opportunity to present their case, and like you said, they're more fun to watch. I hope that Theus keeps it up, no need to save them for garbage time when the games don't count.

I agree about coaching not necessarily to win but get a look at some young talent for evaluation. Thought Salmons was best Sac player in the first half, but Douby gets player of the game for the Kings. Martin probably could have exploded all out at any point, but Coach Theus wanted to look at a lot of players tonight.

My question is; who starts at SF for Kings in absence of Artest for the first seven games off the season? I would say it's between Salmons and Garcia.

It was good to see the "kids" tonight. I liked their hustle.

Agree. Our starters had cement shoes against the quickness of Phoenix. Men against boys tonight. I didn't like Moore or Miller's efforts and Bibby was awful. Shakur sucked too. Douby was terrific.
Kings got lit up again and really need to do something about the defense. Phoenix is a tough matchup but 110 points?

Hey, at least give Bibby credit for leading the team with 7 boards. But I thought that it was kind of weird that our 3 main guards (Bibby, Douby, Martin) took 36 shots between them, but only got 3 assists. I'm trying to figure out who our PG is going to be this year.

I'm thinking...at least after a 2 game observation:

Greene > Shakur
Justin Williams just needs to eat up the veteran minutes out there
Douby looks like a rotation player
Salmons could be trade bait for a team looking for a good vet rotation player...he's got a nice game when being aggrssive on offense
Only way to match up with a PHX is to play Artest and Cisco at the 4
Bibby is playing hard but when that shot doesn't go in......
The pickup of Grant Hill by PHX may be the final piece for them
