Even though this season has been a mess, I don't want to wait till October to see another Kings game
This is the very first offseason where I disagree on that one. The very first.
I think its going to take 5 months to fully wash away the crap of this season and get people interested again.
The one curiosity for me is that I am dead 100% serious in each and every threat I have made about the Cousins situation. There should be no Cousins situation. If there is...this little summer league game would quite literally be the very last Kings game watched as a backer. Interesting, and kind of a whimpering way to go out.

Sorry that you feel that way, Brick. It's been tough for us all the way around. I am looking forward to each step of the way through this summer and into the next season. Lot's of reasons for hope not the least of which is all the missteps of management this season. I am a frm believer that folks try hard not to make the same mistakes twice. As a side note for you- the only place I have heard anything about a "Cuz situation" is on this web site.

Oh no, its been all over the web. Big splash threads in every basketball forum, every NBA fan in America proposing ways their team can rob ours. Haha, look at those idiots, yada yada all over again. Pretty remarkable really. You couldn't smear more egg on the face of this franchise this season if that's what you had set out to do.
But its a fairly simple thing now. They won't. They do not have our permission to do so. If they do so anyway...some lucky fan forum out there is going to find itself completely swamped with a wave of brand new player fans. Except he'll be the best player on their team too so it won't be as obnoxiously out of place.

Thanks. It makes me glad I don't read anything but this, the Bee, and a touch of KHTK and Grant. If I t's all over the place and everywhere that means all our staff, the FO, and all of ownership are face-to-face with it and it would have a sobering effect on our large group of decision makers. Let's build not tear down.

Does that mean I'll have this forum all to myself? Wow, no bickering or fighting. Just peace and quiet.. Seriously, its not a surprise that Cousins being traded is a hot subject on the web. Cousins is a very desirable prize, and just about every team out there would love to have him. So how hard is it to look at the Kings franchise, see all the blunders and discontent, and create a scenario where he gets traded. Or even demands to be traded. If I was on the outside looking in, I'd think the same thing. At this point in time, I think this is all wishful thinking. I suspect that somewhere, Simmons is lurking in the shadows orchestrating the entire thing.

I doubt the Kings will pick up Williams option which is around 9 mil, and cap hold of somewhere around 12 mil. Therefore he will no longer be under contract with the Kings. So I doubt you'll see him at summer league. However, barring injury, the rest of the cast should be there.

Well, if there's no truth to the rumors, then there's no sobering effect. If there is truth to the rumors, then it's self imposed, and they get no sympathy from me. I try to worry about what is, not what might be. Waste of energy...
I'm notb worrying because, I hate to admit on here, I have always placed the fate of the Kings in
THEIR hands and I'm a Kings fan no matter what they do. I believe tht people are not inherently stupid and if the do something stupid or make mistakes they will improve sooner or later. All that doesn't fit very well with a poster on here but here I am and I will be. It's interesting and I learn a lot about my Kings. Go Kimgs.
Actually, D-Will's QO will be much lower than listed because he did not meet "starter criteria". It will actually be a little under $4.3M. I still don't think we match, but it requires a bit more consideration than the full-value QO he could have been eligible for.
I feel like this is misleading, perhaps exceptionally so. Yeah, it's "all over the web," in the sense that fan sites are all talking about it. Which, in turn, generates "buzz" which, in turn, the talking heads, in today's culture of "24 hour news cycle," are all compelled to "report." But the thing is, they're not actually reporting any news, they're just reporting what "people" are talking about, "people" being us.
Basically, what's happening is someone like Cousins makes a super-vague tweet, nobody knows what the hell he means by it, so they start making **** up, somebody on a blog or a message board like this one decides to see how many people he can spin into abject panic, and, like a hundred people take the bait and start tweeting about it. Then the people that follow them start tweeting about it. And then, the people that follow them start tweeting about it... and the next thing you know, you've got Aaron Bruski tweeting that "trade speculation has 'jumped' considerably."
But where are they getting their information from? Nobody credible. Nobody in the front office is trying to trade Cousins. Now, that begs the question, "Well, why aren't they trying to get out in front of all this speculation and deny it, then?" And, to me, I look at how they handled the Malone firing, and I feel like the most logical explanation is that they've grossly miscalculated how good a handle they have on the story... again.
