That's because you've made up your own definition and imposed it on others. I'v never seen your definition anywhere.Choices fraught with errors because of ignorance or misguided beliefs. TANK to me is such a negative, nasty word - it means your team isn't even trying, that they're going out there to lose.
Here's a little help:
Tanking," as we are to understand it, is a team's intent to do less than everything it can to win. It is a concerted effort over several months (and perhaps several seasons) by a team to deliberately not be as good as it could be. It is considered cheap, disingenuous and dishonest, the byproduct of a flawed system where a team can be rewarded for being bad and where deliberately losing is thereby a strategic decision.

Tanking really is anything other than winning being the absolute priority and ownership and the FO doing everything possible to have success at the present time. There's varying degrees of tanking too. Pretending it requires players and coaches to intentionally try to lose is both incorrect and a false premise. Players and coaches don't go out there trying to lose, that's asinine. Their careers are on the line. But a FO can make winning much tougher on them with longer term(draft) goals in mind, which is tanking.
