This one could easily be very ugly. No word on whether or not DMC's ankle is going to be a problem.

Only 20 games left - 12 on the road and 8 at home. Looks like George Karl isn't really going to have too many opportunities to really work on anything other than basics for the rest of the season.

GO KINGS!

I'd love an upset but I don't see the Kings beating Atlanta at home. However, there is a reason games are not played on paper. Go Kings!

20 games left, the season is winding down.
So much ahead to look forward to, Crown Downtown.
Game by game, the adjustments become clear.
Karl is fine-tuning his system, hashtag ready for next year.
Up next our team faces birds from the south.
I hear they're best in the league, oh you know word of mouth.
Sac is up to the task, let these hawks spread their Wings.
A feathery feline is no match for these Kings.
I expect feathers to ruffle, no fear of the birds claws.
Here We Roar tonight, beware of the lions' paws.

My pessimist spin on it:

20 games left, the season is winding down.
And on this day, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.
Game by game, the picture stays unclear.
We build up hope, to have it crushed again next year.

Sac's season is over, let these hawks spread their Wings.
We'll be chasing the lottery, while they'll be chasing rings.
I want feathers to ruffle, but I fear those birds claws.
Here we go Kings! with all our deep flaws...

another team that the Kings have some type of drought against....for this particular team I believe the Kings have lost 12 straight match ups versus the Hawks. This is a 20+ point loss. Won't be watching this for too long.

I like this one better, lol.

The interesting/alarming bit here, I mean besides the Hawks mysteriously being so good this year despite the same roster, is that two years ago before the last pectoral tear Horford did a surprisingly good job on Cousins. Right combo of mobile with just enough strength. Of course that Cousins wasn't this Cousins, but still, obviously we can't afford to have Boogie not dominate.

To be quite honest, it isn't about Boogie. Cousins is going to get his, regardless, which leads to my point. Very few teams have been able to defend Boogie, yet very few teams have lost to the Kings. There's just not enough talent around Cousins on this roster.

Don't underestimate continuity and development as a legitimate method of success.

As a wise man once said: Greatness is a habit, not a goal.

There might be a possibility that Atlanta's coach Budenholzer will rest few of the starters against the Kings, just like he did against Phili, I hope he will and then the Kings might have a chance to make an upset even though I believe it is not very realistic.

The Atlanta Hawks is a team the Kings should aspire to be like, I don't think that their talent is better than ours, but they obviously found a way to leverage their potential to a success, something the Kings should try to do as well, everything is just clicking for the Hawks, they play together, they share the ball, they tend to make the extra pass and they execute almost to perfection.

I hope the Kings management will take Atlanta is a role model for improving and trying to build something similar here in Sacramento.

The talent levels are relatively equivalent (I'd give a slight nod to Atlanta's starters and a big edge to their bench) but the three biggest differences that jump out at me between the Hawks and the Kings is that Atlanta is 2nd in the league in assists and 2nd in 3PT % (3rd in makes, 8th in attempts) while also being 5th in Defensive rating. All FIVE of their starters shoot better than 33% from long range (even though Horford averages one attempt every two games) with Carroll shooting nearly 40% and Korver shooting nearly 50%.

Meanwhile the Kings are dead last in assists and 28th in 3Pt takes and makes and 24th in percentage while being 27th in defensive rating.

The starters were very solid defensively under Malone and that mindset and discipline hasn't returned yet but whether under Malone, Corbin or Karl there simply hasn't been enough ball movement and there aren't enough guys who can hit an outside shot.

For the Kings to improve significantly next season I think they need a starting caliber PF/C to pair with Boogie, to continue to increase ball movement while cutting down on turnovers and more outside shooting, especially off the bench.

Atlanta is maximizing their player's talents with a system that works very well for them. It remains to be seen if Karl can do that with the Kings. Some signs that Rudy will play well in his system, but can he maximize Boogie's output in a scheme that suits his strengths? That's the real question.

Uhh yeah they are. Horford and Millsap are probably the second best frontcourt in the NBA. Teague is a legit all star, one of the best at breaking down a defense. Best stand still shooter in the game in Korver. 3 and D guy in Carroll. A second penetrating fiend in Schroeder and more shooters/hustlers off the bench. All that in a system that fits their personnel. Basically they have 8 or 9 guys that are gonna give you expected production most every night. We have maybe 4 guys like that in Cousins, Gay, Collison, Miller. Everyone else is a toss up on any given night.

You really didn't refute my opinion here, Atlanta has a system which is working perfectly for them, their coach is doing a magnificent job, the players know each other very well and that's why their game is flowing like it is, you see when the team is getting better and better the single player is getting better and better is well, because in Atlanta all the players are completing each other, they all a crucial and important piece in the puzzle which without it, the puzzle won't be completed, and that's what the Kings need to aspire to do in the near future under coach's Karl tenure with the Kings, because as I said and I stand behind my words this team I believe has pretty much the same talent level as Atlanta has.

And I can also show you where we top them: our center is better, and our starting small-forward is better.

Our young Kings players has tons of potential which needs to be fulfilled, why reject a hypothesis that a player like Stauskas might very well be one of the top three-point shooters in the league, he has all the skills to do so, but he is yet to fulfill his potential, what the Kings management needs to take care of is how to make the players fulfill their potential in the maximal way, and that's why we have an experienced coach like Karl to get this job done, our team needs to find the right system/ scheme that will make it fulfill its huge potential.

Who had imagined that Mike Scott of the Atlanta Hawks would be such a key factor for the Hawks off the bench? not many were optimistic about him and yet, he managed to be the x-factor off the bench, and why is that? because Budenholzer was able to give him more chances to fulfill his potential under the right system, and as you can see players like him and Schroder are thriving under coach Budenholzer, why can't this situation be the same here?

Well, this game is certainly going...

...exactly like we all expected it to.

Over under on Korver hitting 40pts?

Honest question: Why is it so hard for our guys to defend the perimeter? Why can't they get it through their thick skulls?!

Cousins doesnt look engaged, Miller was looking for him to make a cut or a move and he was just standing in the corner hands on hips.
