One game down, only eighty-something more left to go (more if you count the playoffs, knock on wood). Of course, since that was only the first game of the preseason, we know little more about our team now that we did before the game. Unless you think that the rotation we used on Sunday is the same one we'll you in the season, in which case you're a moron.

What we can take away is that the Toronto Raptors had absolutely no answer for Demarcus when he started taking over in the third quarter, Ramon Sessions looks like he's going to be a nice third guard off the bench, and Derrick Williams should never play any minutes at the 5. (Some of you also think that Jason Thompson proved himself to be the biggest waste of space on the roster in the span of 20 preseason minutes but, hey, we need someone to blame things on now that IT's stuck at third on the depth chart in Phoenix.)

Since it's preseason, I don't really want to waste my (or your) time with a bunch of fluff about these two games against the Raptors. Though I will say that the Raptors broadcasting crew's apparent belief that James Johnson is the missing link that their team needs to win it all is laughable, especially since they originally traded him to us for the NBA equivalent of a moldy sack of potatoes. Also, I still think Vancouver deserves a new NBA team before Seattle does. They've been waiting longer.

Expect more stuff come regular season.

Go Kings! (But save stuff for the 82 that count)

Hollins looked a lot better than I thought he would somehow.

(now I've said that he'll be awful in this game.)

good morning, everyone!

i'm looking forward to ramon sessions today, and i am hoping for more ryan hollins.

You might be the first person ever to utter those words!

At any rate, looking forward to some progress from everyone. Sessions-Nik-Evans-Landry looks to be a very productive bench crew, if that's what we're going to roll with. Other than when Landry was at C with D-Will at PF, I thought he looked very consistent for his first NBA action back off surgery. 6 FTA's in his 20 minutes is excellent, and he still did a decent job on the boards, considering he played a lot of his time with the Reggie

It's getting to "put up or sit down" time for D-Will. Bad showing in last pre-season game after showing nothing in summer league. Even if it's just "When we put D-Will in, the team gets ____", he needs to show that contributes in some fashion when on the floor.

Hopefully tonights game will be better than the last. I watched the entire game, and was disappointed. Turnover city! Some good individual play though. Stauskas played well for his first game. Made some rookie mistakes, but to be expected. Certainly outplayed McLemore, who had a couple of good moments, and quite a few bad one's. JT was terrible in my opinion, and looked somewhat lost at times. Sometimes trying to change your game takes a while. Hopefully... Collison and Sessions were as expected. In general, too many forced passes which led to turnovers. I'll chalk it up to a new system. First game equals failure. Looking forward to tonights game and improvement.

I like Reggie as a rebounder, but that guy offers little to none rim protection. I like D-Will and I love to root for him, but he's looked horrible. D-Will needs to stay a SF. If we have him as the PF in any lineup, we're doomed. I really hope we can get Eric Moreland going. Yes he's a rookie and raw, but he's the only rim protector the Kings have. I'd have 0 problem if he was a guy out there just to contest shots and rebound. He's shown that he can do that on a small scale, but I'm confident he can do that on a bigger scale too. I see his potentially better than Faried.

Side note: It's Nik's and Vivek's birthday today!

I think we'll see management taking one last long look at D-Will before they decide on whether or not he has any residual value at all. And right now, I'm thinking he's just not worth keeping around.

Sooo I'd really like to se less of Landry and Williams and a lot more of Moreland and Hollins for this one. I don't know if I can fathom watching Landry, Casspi and Williams in at the same time again, preseason or not. I hope they attack Nik again, he needs to learn to play good NBA level defense or adequate so this is a good start for him to get his feet wet.

Nice to see that Malone is switching up the 3 positions that are up in the air tonight to see how the other guys do (Sessions, Nik, Evans)

Starting Evans def makes the most sense. Let's us bring JT in around 5-6 min mark at PF, then slide him to C when Cuz goes to the bench and we bring Landry in. JT still gets the most minutes, but just doesn't start.

I agree that would probably work well, I've quietly advocated bringing JT off the bench to swing between PF/C for a while now.

Checking in from Ann Arbor. It's been a while, but I'm ready for some Kings basketball.
