[Game] Game 49: Kings v. Mavericks 2/5/15 - 7 PST 10 EST

I'm sorry everyone but I am just so mad about this whole situation so I guess I'm venting: Vivek, your front office is worthless. Mullin and PDA allowed this to happen. They advised you to make a move that destroyed a season, demoralized your team and fanbase, has wrecked your season ticket renewals, and is on the brink of costing you your franchise player. DMC could ask for a trade and no one will blame him. Fire the clowns that let this happen and get some personnel with real experience and a track record of success.

"DeMarcus Cousins refused to use the December coaching change as an excuse. “We’re not going there!" "James Ham (@James_Ham)

Interesting people felt compelled to leave this out of the things mentioned.

Like I've said, players are quitting because their coach was fired. This is pathetic. You don't quit on a company just because your manager was fired. Players need to be held accountable for their poor play. When do we get to the point where we actually put the blame on the players? To what extent is this a coaching problem?

Stop giving Malone 100% of the credit for the Kings in November. It's like telling someone, right after team USA, Cousins suddenly became an All Star player. No, he was supposed to be an All Star last year too.

Cousins is laying out the truth.(All through interpretation) 1) He's not playing at a high level right now(fully takes responsibility) 2) Not many players are giving their 100% right now. 3) Guys are not fully into the game. 4) The team quit after Malone's firing.

It's a lot better when your franchise center tells you the UGLY truth vs some guy on the internet. Our FO is inept, but so are the players.

Wow, you're still going.

When Dwill averages 24/12, then we can talk.

Yea, cousins has way too many turnovers.

And that's about where it ends.

He's not playing at a low level. What in the name of all things that are good are you watching? He's the best player, on either team, almost every night. And that is not hyperbole.

I'm sorry you're missing it. It's about the only reason to watch this team.
Lol he's the best player on either team almost every night? His production has been terrible lately. I have no clue what games you've been watching. He even says himself in almost every game that he's not playing well right now. He said it tonight, and he said it the other night.

I guess my opinion doesn't count since I'm just a fan at home.. but when the player actually says it, everyone's like " oh yeah! " " i agree! " " f the FO! " " i dont blame Cuz, not his fault! "

You're just a fan who unfortunately doesn't appear to understand basketball very well.

Cousins is carrying an enormous burden at this point. First it was merely extra attention. Then we killed the team's leader, and so leadership duties fell on him, coming off a dangerous illness even. Then the new idiot coach changed how we used him and put him in a difficult position for a big center, facing the hoop, further out, with multiple sets where he is the primary passer. We might as well start running Darren in the post. Then as the team kept on spiraling and teams realized all they needed to do was stop Cuz, they started doubling him and even tripling him (or I should say took it to even another level). Throw in that for the past month the only shooter on the team capable of breaking those doubles has shot below 40%, and the backup we drafted has been godawful, and what you have is a franchise player quite literally carrying the heaviest burden of any player in the NBA. Nobody else is so alone out there. And every night he is out there scrapping. Every night he is on the boards, tries to bang into traffic when given his chances. He notches late game chase down blocks that he doesn't have to do. This is 100% the EPITOME of a player going above and beyond the call of duty. The fans have quit, the team has quit, he has every excuse to join the rest, but DeMarcus Cousins took his own advice and sucked it up in a big way a month ago. And you should stop complaining and be ****ing proud of him.

I think I'm just a fan who continues to be a fan of basketball and the Kings.

I see nothing wrong at all in critiquing a player's play. I can go around and critique everyone's play if it makes me seem more of a fan, and less of a troll. I believe Cuz is trying to lead this team, but this team has no direction. Everyone has quit, and you can see that Cuz isn't playing to the best of his abilities right now. The Malone firing has taken a toll on everyone, and it sucks that we can't get out of it. It sucks that even though we have a team in Sacramento, it feels like the wrong thing to do to talk about baskebtall, instead everyone wants to talk about how sucky our front office is.

I have no problem with people disagreeing with me at all, but a lot of the disagreements come with 0 basketball contexts. I'd personally rather have a discussion/debate about Cousins' struggles then to have a discussion about Pete and Mullin flipping burgers.
Cousins is obviously no doubt our best player on the team right now. Gay has been terrible, and Collison is just there to bring the ball up so Cuz won't have to do it.

I'm proud of how far Cuz has come along, but I want him to play a lot better. We've seen Cuz dominate and completely take over games on both ends of the floor. We've seen how great he can be. However, as of late, we've barely seen that "dominate Cuz". I hold him to a higher standard vs a lot of our players, because we all know what he can do, and is capable of doing. Right now, he's not playing well, and neither is anyone else.

There aren't a ton of positives to talk about on this team. Cuz just happens to be our franchise player.

Nobody felt compelled to leave anything out. You could have shared tweets, too. If you follow people like I do, there are times when so many tweets come in at once that you miss some. That's why I posted the audio link.

Name someone better.
Tonight was Monta Ellis, but that's too easy. I'll go Tyson Chandler who scored 7-9 on him for 16pts and collecting 16rebs.

vs GSW Curry, despite playing only 29 minutes vs Cuz's 42 minutes.

vs. IND toss up between Gay and Collison

vs. Clev I'll give this to Cuz despite his poor shooting %s, he had a good all around game.

vs. Rapt. Louis Williams without a doubt

If you had asked me in the begining of the season, most of them would've been Cousins without a doubt. He's not playing very well lately. His numbers reflect on that.

It's really all out there.

Again, all statistics. I'm sorry if I sound like I'm picking on you, but it really looks as though you're basing your opinions on the box scores and not the games.

You again have no idea what you are watching.

DeMarcus Cousins is the only rim protector we have. He has to show and challenge everything, and with so many guys laying down at this point, there is more to show and challenge then ever. When your center does that, somebody else is supposed to check down and keep the opposing center from getting the easy finish behind your center's back. The very play by the way that constitutes the entirety of Tyson Chandler's offensive game. Early in the season, we were sloppy, but the help was often there. I've last seen us help on that play about mid December. Tyson Chandler scored maybe 4 points on DeMarcus Cousins. He scored the rest on our team defense or lack thereof. Cousins' scylla and charybdis is either a) come to help after the 20th guard of the night comes running unimpeded into the lane, and watch Chandler dunk the ball behind you when nobody rotates to help. or b) don't help, stick to Chandler like glue, at which point Chandler is helpless as a babe, but the opponent is running a layup drill.

I guess we are operating under different definitions of terrible production.

Over the past 7 days he's top 5 in the NBA in production. Top 5! In the entire NBA. In ESPNs fantasy game, which omits TOs, he's #2 over the past week. In yahoo, which does count TO, he slips to 4.

http://games.espn.go.com/fba/playerrater?leagueId=132960&splitTypeId=1

The numbers are 22.5ppg, 13.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3 steals, 1.8 blocks. The shooting is at .372 with 4 turnovers per game this week. Despite the poor shooting, still top 5 production. Oh, also 32-35 from the line.

If that's a down week, then it's a down week in what, in a perfect world, would be a top 5 finish for MVP.

But he's stuck playing for this franchise, so that won't happen.

I honestly can't believe this is where we're at right now. Posting on this board and checking scores on my phone is really my only connection to the Kings at this point. I'm not watching games. I'm certainly not buying tickets to see this mess in person. And I'm absolutely not going in on season tickets next year. I'm not even sure I'd have the option as apparently my in-laws are considering not re-upping for next year.

If this disaster of a front office pushes Boogie out the door I'm pretty sure my 30 years of fandom will go with him. Enough is enough.

Dude, your "basketball context" consists of ignoring every single thing you see on the court that doesn't fit what you want to see, and ignoring every single statistic Boogie puts up other than FG% and Turnovers.

Don't you dare try to pass yourself off as being objective here.

Look at the replies I've gotten. Look at them. Look at all of them.... None have even been anything about the context of what I was trying to say. How am I ignoring everything else?

Dude, take a look at these responses I get.. I get called out, yet when I reply with real basketball facts and stats, it's all crickets.

We all see things differently especially on the court and in terms of how we think players are playing. I'm backing up what I'm saying with hard actual stats...everyone else is basing it off of what they're seeing. There are a lot of things that don't translate onto the stat sheet. I'm not solely basing what I've said from a paper.

I understand that the numbers he's been putting up are impressive, but the argument could be that he's putting up these numbers with high usage and inefficiency.

In what perfect world is shooting .372 MVP quality? Shooting less than .500 is beyond terrible for a big man..

Even guards won't pass with a .372 shooting percentage...they'd be considered chuckers who can't shoot.
