Fundy's name reared its head as a late season add on for a team back east. Anyone know if he did play? Would seem he is 100% physically and still in his early 30's (?). He was good bench guy at 6-10 with really good mid-range step back jumper. If he could be a Robert Horry type, I'd like to see him back.

I believe he did play for the Bulls. I doubt he ends up with Kings again, if I recall correctly, he didn't leave on the happiest of terms.

He's 35 and has a bad knee. We've been there before, and he's no answer unless we really are headed back to the lottery (by the way he closer to 6'8" than 6'10"). I was shocked to see him make his late season cameo. Wouldn't be surprised if he's scratched that itch now with one of his old coaches (Skiles apparently coached him in Europe) and just calls (or re-calls) it a career again.

Fundy was a class act, one of the nicest guys to ever wear the uniform of the Kings and that's saying something.

I don't think we need to go back, however, to try and fill the roster. We need to look forward. If we're gonna rebuild, let's do it the right way - and not settle for aging veterans with limited value.

He did play for the bulls, but I don't know if he played in the playoffs. Looked hesitant on many occasions though. I don't know where his career is heading now, but like VF said, he was a class act, but I wouldn't wanna see him back.

Thanks for the feedback. And I agree totally. He was a great guy and how many NBA players graduated Magna Cum Laude in Finance? Fundy did. Adios to this thread

I pre-ordered his book via his website a while back. It's about finance and pro athletes, etc. I'm glad you brought him up because I'd forgotten about it. It should be out by the end of June...I think.

:D

Funderburke signed with the Bulls on 4/18 for the minimum specifically to help out in the PO's because of Curry being out. It was going to be questionable whether or not he would be allowed to play in the PO's because of his hire date (according to sources on my a.m. radio), but apparently the league allowed it. He tried out for the Bulls unexpectedly just a couple of days after an appearance on the Rise Guys show.

VF I also am looking forward to reading his book, called "Hook Me Up Playa". For anyone who doesn't know about this, his book is largely about financial management in professional sports (i.e., how to spend your millions wisely, LOL) and is also supposed to contain some cool stories. Funderburke IS a real class act.

If you check out the website I posted the link for, you'll see you can pre-order an autographed copy. That's what I did.

:D

this kid that lived on my block met funderburke at the elk grove library and fudy read to him, the little kid asked him how old he was and i forgot when it was but the kid said, "Wow, so when are you gonna retire?" fudy left the team that year, no joke. The kid showed me the newspaper from some elk grove paper. funny stuff =]
