Even Amick jumping on doom bandwagon

George Karl is in trouble in Sacramento alright, but the Kings' problems go well beyond their embattled coach http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/kings/2015/11/11/george-karl-kings-vivek-renadive-vlade-divac/75597106/…

There’s no way to know what happens from here, but this is about as bad a run-up to the arena opening season as the Kings could have imagined. All those offseason moves to make this roster meant they simply had to get off to a decent start, but the combination of Cousins’ unexpected absence (four games with an Achilles strain) and poor play have put them in this early season pit. Add in the fact that Ranadive responded to a six-game losing streak by parading his friend/rapper Drake throughout the frustrated Kings locker room after a 106-88 loss to San Antonio on Tuesday night, and you get the sense that the silliness won't stop anytime soon.

I am so freaking tired of the national media. They're all nothing more than freaking vultures circling the injured animal waiting for it to die.

Well, Amick and Voison are right, it's up to Karl to deliver. I said on another thread that this is on the players and it is but Karl's job will be on the one before the players' jobs are. It's Karl with Vlade's help that has to turn the ship. Twelve more games.

Scenario A: Karl is fired now, soon or at the end of the season and fuel is added to the fire of the national media theme of the Kings being a laughing stock of a franchise.
Scenario B: The Kings stick it out with Karl and the team (finally) responds and they finish the season playing strong and together.
Scenario C: Karl resigns (now, soon or at the end of the season) for health reasons and the Kings hire their 37th coach in 10 years. This adds some fuel to the fire, but not as badly as Scenario A.
I favor B. If not B, then C.

Should have fired him this summer. This crap isn't going anywhere.

And I'd get on the phone with Thibs/Brooks/McMillan right now, get one of them on board with coaching this team then cut the cord with Karl. Still have 75+ games. I don't care about what national media might think. They're going to laugh at us as this Karl dynamic festers.

Then we'll be laughed at, either fire Karl mid season or after the season and this year will certainly be lost, never mind what it might do to Rondo/Rudy/Cuz. Biggest mistake we can currently make is throwing a penny in a fountain and rely on "hoping" this works out and Karl drama has followed us since April.

Some sportswriter named Mike Ortiz Jr is claiming sources say Cousins went to management with a fire Karl or trade me ultimatum.

Sources: DeMarcus Cousins has voiced his frustrations with management and has given an ultimatum. Trade him or fire George Karl.

"Mike, started Did You See That?! back in the summer of 2010 when he was a junior at Liverpool High School."

Want to take a bet about this 22yr old kid's inside sources?

Remember when we all talked about when this team was built in the offseason it was this:

If the Kings win, they everything will be great. It will be a hell of a ride and fun to watch.
If the Kings lose, it will be a massive implosion that very few teams have seen.

We right now are on the latter part. How long before Rondo gets tired of this crap? How long before Cousins blows up more than he already has? How long until Rudy has completely regressed from the player he was last season? I'd give it about 5-10 more games of losing before all those things come to fruition. Rudy will stop moving the ball. Cousins will play with reckless abandon. Rondo will stop listening to Karl. The Kings need to right this ship and fast, because right now we're rudderless and heading into a storm.

At a certain point, doesn't matter that much.

One, we've seen time and time again, where there's smoke, there's fire, even if half-truths and two, Vivek reacts to the national media narrative.

I refuse to believe that there's nothing going on. We said "there's nothing going on" for so long until Vlade came out and said that yes there was a huge beef between Cousins and Karl but they're working it out.

Vivek will have a little better feel for whether there was a trade me or fire Karl demand made than some snot-nosed rumormonger.

The thing is, that Yahoo Finance article doesn't make much sense.

Does any real Kings fan who's in the know believe that the usually calm Vlade would go up to players and say something like "We don't know what to do, should we fire George?"? How dumb, would Vlade, or any GM have to be to say something like that?

That sounds nothing like the Vlade we know.

You know what the Kings need right now? For fans to have faith in them. We are NOT rats following the national Pied Pipers. We know this team. They are OUR team. If we cannot show some loyalty to them, how can we possibly expect them to play their hearts out for us?

#LoyaltyIsLove

Demarcus believes that with every fiber of his being. It's part of his DNA. I am not going to cosign on anything from any national writer or anyone else that does anything to undermine that, especially when it is base speculation at best. The same kind of speculation that had Chris Webber ditching us for Detroit, by the way.

GO KINGS!

A LOT of the crap floating around today makes no sense. Just because it's posted on Yahoo doesn't make it real. The number of sites that will post virtually anything submitted to them by any "blogger" with a keyboard and the ability to type words in the proper order grows more and more ridiculous.

I'd really like to think that the people who post here at KF are a bit more discerning.

If Karl goes, who is replacing him that can salvage the season? Does Thibs even want to coach this season, let alone coming in after the start?

Vlade knows a guy. A ringer perhaps. Someone that would know how to use the team Vlade built just right I think. The only question is what will it take to get him out of retirement if it's even possible.

Sometimes when moving into the future, you must first reach into the past.

I'm not sure, but I think that guy is still retired because of his wife's poor health. I don't think he would come back.

These kinds of ultimatums shouldn't be thrown around. But If it where true I would trade Cousins. As much as I like Cousins we have never won with him. It is as much his fault as anyone's that we have not won. Cousins downside is getting very old for me. But what ever happens I support the team.

There is no doubt that there has been a stench around this franchise ever since Vivek took over. At some point in time we need to stop and consider how big a part has ownership played in this whole mess. Maybe it's time for Vivek to take a back seat and let basketball minds do their job.

The infatuation with coach Cal worries me. He is a great college coach but I am not sure that he will amount to much in his second run in the pros. He has to relinquish the control of making basketball decisions completely. This is not a show business and glitz and glamour. This is basketball and everything else is a side show. Two best players on this team are tailor made for half court offense. Pace is not a good thing with these guys and it will never be.

For as long as DMC and Rudy Gay are here, this team needs to be half court team doing most of it's damage from the low post, getting to the line and punishing teams inside. Gritting down defensively, locking down the paint with DMC, WCS and 2K.

There are half court offenses that are exciting. Ball movement doesn't need to stop. You can still play exciting basketball and get people out of their seats. Thibs is a perfect coach for this team and the sooner the guys running the show realise this the better. If you want pace, then it's time to trade your two best players and start from scratch and lose a lot of fans along the way. I have been a fan of this team for a long time, through good times and bad but trading DMC would be the final straw for me. I would walk away and do something else with my time.

Karl needs to go. Vivek needs to step back and this team needs to hire Thibs now. Ball movement can still happen in half court sets but primarily, this team should be playing from the post and punishing teams inside. Blind Freddy can see this.

I thought it was validated by Jason Jones as well that he did in fact curse out Karl?

It might be worth a conversation. I mean, if you look at this team, there are some very notable similarities. When would he ever have a shot to coach someone like Cuz again?

Dream scenerio would be RA walking through that door...
I just don't think coaching DMC is quite the selling point it once was. Not after the trail of bodies he has left behind.

I believe my comments were made before any such validation. I'm not gonna go back and edit just because I may have been proven wrong in a particular instance. ;)

My comment about the quality of writing on a lot of online sites, however, stands as written.
