Would you guys like if we got this guy through a trade even after the trouble he got into earlier this month? He sure would help out on the defensive end with the 2.1 blocks per game he averaged last year in limited minutes.

No. Some people are just too stupid to be paid millions of dollars for playing a game. EG definitely falls into that category.

I might still be down with that, although he's such a knucklehead, and a knucklehead of the wrong sort too -- not Ron/Bonzi overly intense knucklehead, but the clueless potentially lazy kind. Not that there's anything wrong with masturbating while you're drunk driving or anything. If nothing else, when he gets one of those big mitts up there to swat the ball back in somebody's face, maybe now they will think twice about grabbing it -- don't know where those hands have been.

Thing is last summer he was a FA and signed a very cheap deal with Minn without us making so much as a wave at him so far as can be told. So unless Muss were to go greenlight the guy ala Salmons, not at all sure Geoff would look at him.

Well, we were courting SAR back in late July (meeting with him and the whole NJ situation), and then could only sign him until 8/2. Griffin didn't sign his deal (more than the LLE) until August 22nd. So, who knows what Geoff did between late July and early August.

I know I said I was "done with Griffin", but that was suggesting him and hoping we'd get him. I'd be okay getting Griffin if we did, but would be wary of him as I wasn't really before because of the recent incident. I still like him as a player.

File Griffin and Owlokandi away in the same folder with Keon Clark and lable it "Lost Causes" guys with some tallent and skills that have CONSISTANTLY underachived and done noting on or off the court to make them even remotely worth a risk of any kind.

Olowokandi's a #1 pick bust, yes. But, now he's become what he is - a decent defensive big man. In our case, back-up center and brings help with what is needed in the front-court.

Say what you want about him, but he is indeed one of our options right now for cheap defensive big men.

The fact that Olowokandi can and will be had for the LLE or even Vets minimum pretty well proves my point... conroacts that small are essentially no risk.

Well, that's what would be offered to him, the LLE. Which we could well use to do that (and only that) to get a big like Wright/Cato/Kandi, as said in the Salmons article.
