Coach: Pat Riley

Deron Williams, Julius Erving, Kevin Durant, Nate Thurmond,
Patrick Ewing

Bench: Devin Harris, Kevin Martin, Peja Stojakovic, Josh Smith, Al Jefferson, Jason Richardson, Chris Kaman

The Aces High

Our style is definitely of the "run n' gun" "show time" nature. Almost every player on the team has the ability to throw it down big time with specially selected exceptions such as Peja who is our mandatory 3pt specialist and Kevin Martin our "foul drawer". Don't be fooled by our offensively explosive abilities...the aces are no stiffs on defense. With Nate Thurmond's skills (hailed as one of the top 5 defenders to every play the game) Patrick Ewing's size and Josh Smith's freakish athletic abilities (one of the best shot blockers in the NBA) we not only have the ability to stop people in their tracks, but to make it as exciting as our offensive. Win or Lose (and we never lose) the crowd ALWAYS gets their money's worth. Some of our trademark offensive plays involve the crowd favorite "Deron William to Josh Smith Ally-oop" and the "Patrick Ewing post up and kick out for 3". We thrive in the fast temp type of game but we are never afraid to slow it down and set up a play with Deron Williams running the show. When things get physical the Aces won't back down, if its a dog fight you want its a dog fight your going to get...

Mike D’Antoni – Head Coach (Offensive God)
Scott Skiles – Assistant Coach (Defensive Tyrant)

Offensive Strategy: We’re a team that likes to run, a lot, like as much as possible. Speed kills, and a key strength is our aerobic conditioning and freak athleticism at every position. If the other team makes a free throw, we run a fast break, if we get a block or force a missed shot, we rebound and run. Then we run some more, and then we pick up the pace. The purpose of our fast break is to score as many easy baskets as possible without facing a set defense. Our pace makes it extremely challenging for big lumbering centers to play, as they have no one to guard, yet are countered offensively by our bigs, and this takes a physical toll on the opponents. This strategy relies on athleticism, ball handling, three point shooting, unselfishness, and teamwork. The players naturally value the ball, and turnovers are minimized because the shot occurs so quickly that the defense doesn’t have time to force one. If a shot is missed, usually the defense is not set in ideal rebounding position, and my team can clean up on the offensive boards. This strategy also helps my team get to the line much more often than our opposition, as my players are always in attack mode on offense, yet in control enough athletically to not draw a lot of charge calls.

Mike D’Antoni is brilliant in putting players in the position to succeed. He has a genius offensive mind, and he utilizes the versatility of my team excellently. The priority is placed on offensive aggression and passion. My team is always attacking, both offensively (with transition baskets, 3 point shooting, and dribble penetration), and defensively (getting into passing lanes, slapping balls away, and blocking shots). Mike D’Antoni preaches speed above all else, and his spread offense allows excellent player and ball movement, while leaving defenses in shambles. He likes to use LeBron in a PF role, often mid way through the game, to allow for a running style. With LeBron at the 4, and Dwight at the 5, he is free to unleash Lamar Odom or Joe Johnson at the 3, and have Manu and a shooter in the back-court. With such a dynamic roster, he likes to find different match-ups to foil his opponents, and my players can play together in several different combinations, as they are all so versatile offensively and defensively.

In the playoffs, when tempo is reduced, the team can still get out and run because they are able to force turnovers and have such solid individual and team defenders to start the break. If forced into a half court set my team relies on creating mismatches through pick and roll and motion offense, utilizing naturally gifted passers at every position. With unguardable athletes like LeBron James, and Dwight Howard, shooters are free to roam the perimeter and fire away, and it’s easy to find open cutters at the rim or for mid range shots.

Defensive Strategy: Our defensive strategy consists of pestering, perturbing, contesting, and defending at all costs without fouling or giving up scoring position. My team thrives on forcing turnovers, which helps the offense, and making the other team take the ball out of the net to face our brutal half court defense. If pressed, our transition defense is the best in the league, with athletic playmaking wings (LeBron James/Tayshaun Prince/Manu Ginobili/Joe Johnson), shot blocking big men (Dwight Howard/Alonzo Mourning/Pau Gasol/LeBron), and defensive speedster point guards (Kevin Johnson/Mark Price).

Scott Skiles demands defensive accountability at all times, making constant adjustments and improvements to our defensive scheme, much like Bill Belicheck and his 3/4 defenses. We continually give the opponent different defensive looks, so they have a hard time finding something that works well. My team plays masterful zone defense, contesting passes for steals, contesting any open shots, and preventing drives to the hoop. We also have terrific individual on ball defenders, and we play a trapping man-to-man defense that aggressively forces the opponent to read and react much more quickly than they are comfortable, forcing quick perimeter shots that are contested. We are physically imposing, both on the perimeter and down low, blocking shots, and giving hard fouls to avoid lay-ups. Typically, though, we will force a turnover before an opponent has the ability to drive to the hoop.

Other Notes: The most important aspect of my team is their chemistry on and off the court. These guys really like and respect one another, and it’s a great group of people for the community too. They give their energy and effort on the court, and are class acts off the court. There are no bad apples on my team, with the exception of Scott Skiles who is there to light a fire under everyone and make them better by working harder than they would like to. He is tolerated because the team has positive results. They lead the league in both offensive and defensive efficiency, and outscore their opponents by 17.2 ppg. Plus, they have a nice young nucleus so I think you’ll be hearing much more of them for many years to come. Go Kings!

The Draft Left me with:
1: Wilt Chaimberlain - C
2: Bob Cousy - PG
3: Chris Webber - PF
4: Dominique Wilkens - SF
5: Joe Dumars - SG
6: Rick Adelman - Head Coach
7: Chauncey Billups - PG
8: Gerald Wallace - SF
9: Brandon Roy - SG
10: Pete Carrill - Asst. Coach
11: Bill Laimbeer - C
12: James Posey - G/F
13: Carlos Boozer - PF
14: Hasheem Thabeet - C

The Starting 5:
PG: Bob Cousy -
The Leader
SG: Joe Dumars - The "Kobe Stopper"
SF: Gerald Wallace - Defensive specialist who doesn't need the ball
PF: Chris Webber - High post offensive initiator
C: Wilt Chaimberlain - Low post monster

The Bench:
PG: Chauncey Billups -
The other leader
SG: Brandon Roy/James Posey - Offense/defense interchangeable tandem.
SF: Dominique Wilkens - Super 6th man
PF: Carlos Boozer - Redeem Team backup glue man
C: Bill Laimbeer - The ENFORCER
C2: Hasheem Thabeet - Plays when Laimbeer gets ejected.

The Coaches:
Rick Adelman
Pete Carrill

Offensive Style:
The first team will be run as a Kings Glory Years Princeton Offense. Cousy can run around looking to set up Webb at the high post, Wilt on the post or either Dumars or Wallace who will be at their respective stations. Joe Dumars is much like the Doug Christie of my team. He is a defensive monster who CAN score, but the ability isn't going to be forced with other scorers on the floor. The same can be said with Gerald Wallace, who can slash or take the corner three when it's given to him, but his role is that of another defensive monster. Chris Webber is stationed at the high post, and once the ball is in his hands he can either 1: Explode to the rim or, 2: Pass it into Wilt's waiting hands down low or, 3: Wait for any sort of a double team, either on him or on Wilt then take advantage of the situation and hit the now open player for a wide open shot. Wilt stays down low. Wilt scores down low. Wilt grabs offensive rebounds down low. Wilt attracts double teams down low.

The second team will be less structured and be more run and gun. Chauncey Billups is a great leader and will turn the group into winners despite coming off the bench. Chauncey knows his role, and he knows what to do with it. Brandon Roy and James Posey are at the backup SG. These players are based on matchups. Roy is in when scoring is needed. Posey is in when defense and clutch threes are needed. Roy generally will get most backup SG minutes, and his goal (much like most of the second team) just score the ball. Posey gets in games at the end of the 1st half and the last minutes of the 4th before Dumars is inserted back into the game capitalizing on his clutchness. Dominique is the super-duper 6th man of this team. He will come in. He will score. He will pad the lead. HE will be a chucker/dunker, and he will score, score, SCORE! Carlos Boozer as backup PF. He may not get to many minutes, but he knows his role on a stacked team. He will come in do his thing, get chippy and make opposing front-lines miserable with his running mate Bill Laimbeer.... Bill Laimbeer is going to be the only pseudo-Priceton offense link of the second team as the big guy who can play outside. Based on matchups he will choose to be on the outside chucking threes or on the inside throwing elbows and trying to score down there...Thabeet has zero offensive value, and only gets minutes when Laimbeer gets tossed and Wilt still needs a few minutes.

More to come..

Um, can't use him - never played in the NBA.

"The Dominant Dozen"

Coach: John Kundla
Assistant Coach: Bill Fitch

The Starting 5:
PG:Tim "Tim Bug" Hardaway
SG: Dwyane "Flash" Wade
SF: Bernard "King of New York" King
PF:Moses "Chairman of the Boards" Malone
C: Bill "Mr. Defense" Russell

Bench:
PG: Earl "The Pearl/Black Jesus" Monroe, Hal Greer
SG: Doug "D.C" Christie, Vince "Vinsanity" Carter, Earl "The Pearl/Black Jesus" Monroe
SF: Vince "Vinsanity" Carter, Maurice "The Enforcer" Lucas
PF: Chris Bosh "CB4" Bosh, ,Maurice "The Enforcer" Lucas, Jermaine "J.O." O'Neal
C: Jermaine "J.O." O'Neal (Moses Malone can also play center, but is in starting lineup as PF)

Coaching:

With two of the greatest coaches of all time working together, my team will dominate. As head coach, John Kundla will provide a cunning mind, sound judgement, and a strict adherence to defence. His attention to disciplined basketball will be extremely helpful. As assistant coach, Bill Fitch will provide a wise, older, experienced coach that will be able to get on the players when needed and also guide the offense.

Offensive Strategy:

My team will be an amazing passing team and has the ability to play at a slow pace with players like Bernard King, Moses Malone, and Bill Russell or run the fast break with one of the best for that in Tim Hardaway and also Dwyane Wade. Hardaway will score mostly on fast break opportunities, but will also be a distributor in the offense and when open shoot the three. The leader of the offense is Dwyane Wade, who will allow others to get into the flow of the game and then take over when necessary as he is one of the greatest slashers the league has ever seen and can also be a deadly shooter. Bernard King's long arms and quick release will provide a scoring punch while D-Wade is not scoring well. Moses Malone will provide an amazing low post presence on offense and the guards can drive and easily distribute to him or Bill Russell for the easy basket. Moses can do much more than provide the easy basket though and will provide one of the greatest offensive rebounding forces. Bill Russell will not be a focal point on offense and will still score on a few post-ups, but mostly from rebounds, tip-ins, and passes.

My bench will definitely be a fast break team with guys like Earl Monroe and Vince Carter. Coming off the bench, Doug Christie will be an great three point shooter, but will otherwise not be a large part in the offense even though he has been capable of being a pretty good threat on offense, and will be providing mostly defense, hustle, and toughness. On the fastbreak Earl Monroe will be able to break down any defender and then either finish or distibute, which he is also great at. Imagine the alley-oops from Monroe to Vince Carter, Chris Bosh, or Jermaine O'Neal. Carter will be able to be a great leader on the floor while D-Wade is not in and will be able to get the crowd into the game with his dazzling dunks. He can also shoot the long ball at a great percentage. Bosh will provide quiet leadership on the team and can provide a low post presence that can shoot very well or drive to the basket and finish strong. O'Neal will be able to back up Russell with a bit more scoring and will be able to run on the fastbreak better. Maurice Lucas, one of the greatest enforcers of all time, will not be a big part in the offense, but if there are weaker players on him he will be able to take advantage. Hal Greer will not come in much, but will not do too much and will not make any mistakes.

Defensive Strategy:

My team will be a dominant defensive team with great defensive players across the board. At starting center, I have probably the greatest defender of all time and one of the most intelligent, Bill Russell. He will block anyone coming in to score, is amazing man to man, and will rebound the ball extremely effectively. Next to him is another amazing defensive force in Moses Malone and he also has great strength. A dominant guard can be countered by dominant defenders in Doug Christie, Dwayne Wade, or Hal Greer. Doug Christie will be the shutdown defender and will also be a great hustle player and will be willing to be an enforcer. These guards along with Tim Hardaway and a few others will be great at getting turnovers. Vince Carter is a great defender when the effort is put in and he will put in that effort as he realizes he won't play if he does not. One of the best, if not the best enforcers of all time is on my team, Maurice "The Enforcer" Lucas. He will provide amazing intimidation and will stick up for the team. Maurice can guard both forward positions with dominance and is also great at shotblocking and rebounding. Chris Bosh can provide shotblocking and has great bball IQ to defend. O'Neal can guard centers or power forwards and will also provide shotblocking and great rebounding off the bench.

C/F - A.C. Green

---

VERSATILITY/MISMATCHES
Jordan, Nowitzki, Terry, Cooper, Reed, Horry, Green, and Mason can all play 2-3 positions. This will provide many mismatches against our opponents. We have the ability to throw in lineups that can be offensive or defensive. We can go 3 guards or even 4 forwards at a time and force the other team to adjust.

OFFENSE
We have some the hottest shooters in the history of the NBA. Jordan, Dirk, Nash and Barry alone in the starting 5 is enough to scare many teams.
However, when you factor in Terry and Horry off the bench - you can't get away from pure shooters.

Reed and Green will provide our low post game, while Parker and Nash could easily combine for 20 assists a game as they drive and kick.

DEFENSE
Our offense may be potent, but our defense will kick you in the mouth and then laugh about it. Help you up just to do it over again.

Eaton, Mason, Jordan and Cooper will be our anchors. However - Barry, Horry, Reed and Parker all play great team defense as well.

You will not be allowed to get near the basket with Eaton and Mason underneath. Of course, Jordan and Cooper will make life on the perimeter suck for you as well.

CLUTCH
Late in the game, we have many clutch players who will not fold under intense pressure. In fact, our team consists of some of the most clutch players in the history of the NBA:

Willis Reed, Michael Jordan and Robert Horry defined the word "clutch," and if you want to double Jordan, you will have to leave one of them open.

LEADERSHIP
Coach Karl knows how to balance differing personalities. He is a master at using his talent to it's best potential. He, along with Coach Budenholzer will provide a 1-2 defensive/offensive approach.

On the court, we have the Greatest of all Time leading our team to the promised land, Michael Jordan.

Willis Reed, Steve Nash, Rick Barry, A.C. Green, Tony Parker and Robert Horry all provide great leadership on and off the court.

TOUGH
Willis Reed is known as one of the toughest in NBA history as he led the Knicks to an NBA title even with a major injury.

A.C. Green is the NBA's Ironman with the Most consecutive games played streak.

Michael Jordan is.. well Michael Jordan.

Anthony Mason, Mark Eaton and Michael Cooper are the brass of our team.

Nash and Parker are not afraid of driving to the hoop and drawing contact.

CHEMISTRY
Coach Karl, Coach Budenholzer and MJ will be a major factor in this area as they help balance personalities and help everyone focus on the task ahead.

A.C. Green is one of the most likable guys in NBA history.

The Team also has many former teammates reuniting.

Green & Cooper
Nash & Dirk (w/Terry)
Horry & Parker

FOCUS/DRIVE
Led by MJ - this team is focused as can be and has only one goal in mind - winning it all.

As a note for your write-ups.

If your team is not given a name in your write-up, under the draft list round 15 will just be titled "Write-Up" however if you provide a name, the team name will be written down for round 15.

"Awesome"

Oscar Robertson ---PG
2: James Worthy --- SF
3: Vlade Divac --- C
4: Alex English --- SG
5: Elvin Hayes --- PF
6: Gilbert Arenas --- PG/SG
7: Artis 'A-Train' Gilmore --- C
8: Connie Hawkins --- SG/SF
9: Elton Brand --- PF
10: Rashard Lewis --- SF/PF
11: Eddie House --- PG
12: JR Smith --- SG

Head Coach: Lenny Wilkins
Assistant Coach: Jack Sikma

Rotation:
PG - Robertson/Arenas/House
SG - English/Hawkins/Arenas/Smith
SF - Worthy/Lewis/Hawkins/Smith
PF - Hayes/Brand/Lewis/Gilmore
C - Divac/Gilmore/Hayes/House :)

---

VERSATILITY:
Every member of my team can play more than one position, and ultimately my team relies on a team game, although if we ever need to isolate a player, we have the personnel to make that work.

OFFENSE
Our offense is built around our prolific scorers and effective big men. We also have one of the greatest all around players to ever play the game initiate our half-court set. Our points will generally come out of the break, as we have a few sneaky perimeter defenders (Worthy, Robertson, Arenas) who are very good at poking the ball away. We also have a few big shot blockers in the paint, so there will be plenty of defensive stops which will lead us to the break. Both the starters and the bench can play this sort of game.

DEFENSE
As stated, we have a number of individual defenders which will make life hell on that end of the floor for your players. We won't gamble too much, but your team better have good shooters with a quick release, because we will swarm any touch on the block, and all my guys are quick enough to close out efficiently as well.

CLUTCH
Big Game James, Gilbert Arenas, and Vlade will be our go-to guys down the stretch, but Oscar Robertson and Hayes should be on the floor as well.

LEADERSHIP
First, from the coaches. Coach Wilkens doesn't win 1300 games without establishing some sort of leadership. Coach Sikma is also a guy who the players respect. From the players side, you have Vlade, who won't let any locker room fall apart, and Gilbert, who brings that love/hate swagger that every decent team ion the last 30 years had.

CHEMISTRY
I can't imagine any team led by Oscar Robertson and Vlade Divac would have an issue with chemistry. Watching this team is like watching figure skating. Our offense has no wasted motion, and our defense is just as efficient. We are fluid.

FOCUS/DRIVE
We are better than every one else.

In Depth Rotation:
PG: Robertson, 38 mpg; Arenas, 8 mpg; House, 2 mpg
SG: English, 32 mpg; Hawkins, 10 mpg; Arenas, 4 mpg; Smith, 2 mpg
SF: Worthy, 36 mpg; Lewis, 10 mpg; Hawkins, 2 mpg
PF: Hayes, 30 mpg; Brand, 16 mpg; Lewis, 2 mpg
C: Divac, 32 mpg; Gilmore, 12 mpg; Hayes, 2 mpg; Brand, 2 mpg

Total = 240 mpg

"Team Flash"

1: Magic Johnson --- PG
2: Elgin Baylor --- SF
3: Dikembe Mutumbo --- C
4: Bob McAdoo --- PF
5: "Pistol" Pete Maravich --- PG/SG
6: Bobby Jones --- SF
7: Wes Unseld --- C/PF
8: Antonio McDyess --- PF/C
9: Alvin Robertson --- PG/SG
10: Andre Iguodala --- SG
11: Sam Jones --- PG
12: Jason Kapono --- SF

Head Coach: Mike Brown
Assistant Coach: Tom Thibodeau

Starting 5:
C - Dikembe Mutumbo
PF - Bob McAdoo
SF - Elgin Baylor
SG - Andre Iguodala
PG - Magic Johnson

Rotation:
PG - Alvin Robertson
SG - Pistol Pete
SF - Bobby Jones
F - Antonio McDyess
C - Wes Unseld

Deep Bench
G - Sam Jones
SF - Jason Kapono

VERSATILITY/MISMATCHES
Our starting five has a ridiculous combination of height and athleticism. Magic is a mismatch for anybody. He's a 6'9'' PG. Nobody can stop him doing what he wants on the floor and getting the ball to others in their sweet spot. He's dominated at C in the finals. Mismatch? Enough said. Iggy is an athletic freak, and can guard 3 positions if needed. McAdoo was unstoppable in his prime (MVP). He was the original C-Webb, being able to shoot from range and pass like a guard. Also a beast on the boards. Baylor was one of the best shooters ever. Put up 40ppg and 20rpg. That's just a team of mismatches, and I haven't even delved onto my bench.

OFFENSE
Well, we've got the best PG ever (and arguably the GOAT), an MVP PF who is the last player to ever post 30/15 in a season, one of the greatest shooters and rebounders for his position ever in Baylor, and two players who will get their points off slashing and alley-oops (Iggy) and putbacks and dunks (Deke). Magic will get the ball to everyone, as well as putting up about 18 himself. Off the bench we've got Pistol Pete, Antonio McDyess, Unseld, Robertson and Jones. All know how to put the ball in the basket and there are two great passers in there in Pete and Robertson. McDyess was one of the most athletic PFs in the NBA before the injuries, and Unseld was one of the toughest players around. They'll destroy opposing big men. Just incase we need someone to spread the floor, we'll call the name of Kapono, the greatest 3 point shooter in NBA history (% wise).

This team will play pretty basketball. Every single member of the strating five has averaged at least 5 assists, except Mutombo (Magic - 13, Iggy - 5, Baylor - 5, McAdoo - 5). They know how to share the ball and be unselfish. Off the bench, both Pistol Pete and Robertson were creative and excellent passers (13 assists between them).

DEFENSE
Both my coaches are primarily defensive, which fits into my game plan. Brown is known for his defense. He's led his team to the finals and has been COY. Thibodeau is widely regarded as the best defensive assistant in the NBA. All of his teams have been in the top of defensive categories and ratings. He is the ultimate assistant.

AFAIC, I've got hands down the best defensive team in this contest. Magic, with his size and length, was a good defender. Iggy is an excellent defender, he reads the passing lanes well and has great athleticism and anticipation. Baylor was strong as an ox, and although he was short, he was smart. McAdoo blocks 2 shots a game and would normally be the defensive anchor, but I've got Dike. Probably the best defensive center of all time, Mutumbo was a 4X DPOY, averaging nearly 5 blocks a game in his best season. He was a beast on the boards (14 per), too, along with McAdoo (15 per).

My plan defensively is to be absolutely relentless. My bench is arguably as good defensively as my starting team and so I can afford to go hard and wear out opposing teams. Off the bench I've got Alvin Robertson at PG (former DPOY and all time steals leader in NBA history). He was a lockdown defender and a very good athlete. Averaged almost 4 steals a game in one season. Also got Bobby Jones, my ultimate glue guy. Did all the little things, played excellent defense (former DPOY and 8X First Team All Defense), hustled, scrapped, frustrated, did everything needed to win. Also got McDyess and Unseld, a player noted for his defensive agression. We will grind teams down with ferocious effort.

CLUTCH
I've got guys who know how to win. Magic was clutch. McAdoo was clutch. Baylor is there to knock down every shot he gets, especially in the clutch. Defensively, we've got a whole host of players who will make big plays (see above). We have gallons of offensive firepower, we will make shots with Magic spreading it round. Sam Jones' nickname was Mr. Clutch. He turned it on when the pressure came.

LEADERSHIP
I've got a team of massive winners. Magic has 5 rings. Baylor led his team to the finals eight times. McAdoo has a ring. Bobby Jones has a ring. Unseld had a ring (and four finals appearances). McDyess has a ring. Sam Jones has ten NBA rings (the second most of all time). Kapono has a ring. Quietly, I've assembled a team of winners. They know how to get it done, and with Sam Jones in the lockeroom, these guys have the second best winner of all time.

TOUGHNESS
Magic, Unseld, Iggy, Mutombo, Jones, Robertson, Baylor, McAdoo. Need I say more?

REBOUNDING
I decided to make a new heading for this category. I've got a crazy bunch of rebounders. There will be NO second chance opportunites for my opposition, nor offensive rebounds. We will eat up boards both offensively and defensively. In their prime, here are the RPG for my starters. Dike - 14, McAdoo - 15, Baylor - 20, Iggy - 6, Magic - 10. Thats' 65 rebounds between my starters. Ridiculous. And just to keep up the pace off the bench, Unseld grabs 18, McDyess 12, Robertson 7, Bobby Jones 10, Sam Jones 6. My ability to rebound will be key. One of my main aims starting off this draft was to get a huge team who would play defense, intimidate, rebound, and be unselfish. I've achieved this.

FOCUS/DRIVE
The amount of rings and final appearances on my roster will tell you all you need to know about the focus and drive on my team. We're going all the way. We have too much talent, determination, team spirit, defense, and great coaching, not to.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, TEAM FLASH!

The usual format is for participants to post a write-up, then rank their fellow competitors. After the rankings, brackets are created and the voting begins...

So each person has a vote? In the ranking stages, I mean. As in;

1. Jespher
2. Kingsnation
3. Brick

etc.?

How will the brackets be determined if the rankings are all over the place?

Or am I just not getting this?

If it's anything like the other drafts, the players ranks each other's teams 1-16 (thru PM to Commish,) and then lowest point total (most 1s, 2s, etc) is the highest seed in the playoffs.

Each person sends in a list ranking teams 1-15 (excluding their own team). Usually, a 1st place ranking equals 1 point, 2nd place 2 points and so on, and the team with the lowest score total would be the #1 team in the bracket, etc.

Hope thats clear enough

Defense: With 4 former DPOYs (Rodman, Moncrief, Payton, Camby), 7 of the top 10 players former 2nd Team All Defense or better players, and a coaching staff pulled from some of the best defensive teams of the last 30 years, this is a crew designed to strangle you.

Bench: The bench features 3 former 6th men of the year (McHale, Bjax, Kukoc) surrounded by an inside/outside pair of defensive roleplayers. (Note there is actually a 4th former 6th man of the year in the starting lineup (Rodman)). Rather than collect starters and call them a bench, I went for guys who know how to come in firing.

Spot player roles: Ellis is the shootist. If we are having a bad shooting night, in he comes. If we are having problems scoring, in he comes. If we need spacing, in he comes. If its the end of a quarter/half/game and we need a three, in he comes. And if something happens to Larry, whether it be foul toruble or injury, its nice to have a 25+ ppg scorer sitting over there who can match the shooting at least. Daugherty is Arvydas insurance. If the big guy gets hurt or in early foul trouble, Daugherty leaps over Camby in the rotation and fills in the normal Arvydas minutes, providing much of the same passing and saavy that Sabas normally brings. And if there is a particularly large physical brute on the other team, Daugherty might again be the better match than Camby's stringbean body.

Okay, once team write-ups are complete (I'll put the deadline at Thursday at 3:30 pm) here's the plan.

All participants will then send their team rankings into me.

ie:
SLAB's rankings (random)
1: Bricklayer
2: VF21
3: Jespher
Etc. Etc.
Do not rank yourself when submitting your team rankings.

The top vote getter gets 15 points, 2nd place 14 all the way down to one point.

Then I will post the team battles.
1 Vs 16
2 Vs 15
Etc. Etc.

At first I was going with a division format, but I don't really know what to do with that so we're going to go with the traditional playoff style.

Hopefully all the rankings will be sent into me over the weekend, and I can have the brackets up on Monday~!

Here comes the fun~
:)
