Dream Team Draft - rankings due Sunday night

that was extremely difficult to rank..

hopefully people based it on, ability to be unselfish, continuity within the team, coaching and style and weaknesses/strengths of players

which would put me at #1 ;)
 
Is there an easier way of getting final vote scores other than to go through each pick, assign the points, then add them alltogether at the end?
 
Posting from my iPhone... Internet currently down on my laptop (again) so rankings might not be up until tommorrow morning.... I'll kkeep trying to get my Internet up and running

Not really, but it'd be a little less confusing just to assign different scores than what you have in mind (1st place vote = 1 pt, 2nd place=2, etc) and the lowest score ends up being the top seed. It doesn't make the math any easier, but it'd probably cut down on any confusion.

That tends to be the best way, even if it is a bit tedious. Just be thankful that you only have 16 to rank...we had 32 heroes and villains teams:).

It also helps to break any ties with total # of 1st place votes if applicable.

Yeah I hope my approach to this draft works out for the best. I obviously could've taken more skilled players if that's the way this is gonna work out. I just don't want to see teams at the top who would need 5 balls on the court just to function
 
Im back online.

I have all the scores listed out, and now Ill wait for any last second voters, then will post the rankings at midnight, and have the playoff threads posted in the morning, at the latest!
 
Arg...In my tired attempt to finish the rankings, I have done something wrong 3 times.

Each time like 3 people have one to many votes while others don't have enough...

I will try once more, buf if my final rankings arent submitted at midniht....Voting still closes at midnight, and since tomorrow is Memorial Day I will sleep in, be refreshed , and attempt the rankings one final correct time.

Are you going to break them into divisions? If not, we're going to be totally swamped with polls from the superheroes/villains, this one AND the rock band within a couple of days...

I think clearly we should probably hold off on the rock band voting until Superheroes v. Villains clears. This one I would suggest two things -- that there is a master bracket at the top of each voting thread (we did that last year with albums and Pretty girls at least) to make the overall status easy to follow, and maybe this would be a good time, in round one at least, to try the staggered voting concept. I would imagine this draft would be 4 threads with 2 matchups per thread (the standard now) -- maybe start only 1 or 2 tomorow then add the others later the week.

Yea, I figured I would only throw out 4 polls at a time...When those four are done, replace them with a new set of four.

How long should I give each set of polls before switching out with a new set?

Looks like a first round exit for me...I actually expected to be lower than 8th, so it's all good I guess.

As for the poll time, 4-5 days is plenty I would say. I think that's what I did last year.
 
Great job everyone. Should be a great playoffs. I have to say though that I thought some of the lower teams would be ranked much higher.

Yeah thought it was based on continuity and fluidity of the team, some of those teams need 5 balls to be successful, with players NEEDING the ball to be successful..

not to mention we are playing by today's rules...

I aggree but I knew I wasn't going to get many votes with Kobe on my team.
 
I just finished reading Bill Simmons latest mail bag, and he had an interesting stat regarding Manu Ginobili that I just added to my write-up. Apparently he has the 2nd best regular season winning percentage ever:eek:.

Impressive, however he's still in his prime. The last few years of most of those players probably dragged their percentages down quite a bit. It'd be nearly impossible for Manu to keep that pace up.
