Stop complaining about your <25yo players draining game winners. I promise that experience is more valuable to the franchise than the lotto odds. You've got a point if the other team loses the game, but winners win and learning to win is what we want from Evans/Cousins/Thorton et all.

I couldn't agree or disagree more. Not sure where the hell that leaves me.. On the beach with a cervesa, I guess!

i'll take the loss and grab a MKG and trade MT. the talent is better than a meaningless win.

I'm totally on board with grabbing MKG, but why are you trading MT? Gilchrist is a SF and Thornton is a SG. Unless the idea is to move Tyreke to the SG position. But even then, I'd hang on to Thornton, and have him come off the bench. Of course you didn't say who you were trading him for. That might change my mind.

thats what happens in a perfect world but we havent shown any indication at all of moving MT to the bench and tyreke to the 2. I hope it happens but i really think if it ever does its a reactive move to MKG falling to us in the draft not us trying to trade up for him

I would agree with you in early or mid season, now we are 4th in the lottery and one slot up or down matters. I rather root for a lin for a good pick than pointless wins over the last few games.
Then, by all means, root for a lin. My objection is to people who come into the game thread and actually get upset if people are cheering for the team to win. I just don't get it. And for the record? You may think wins are pointless but you'll never convince the guy who took his two young children to their first Kings game and got to experience the feeling of ARCO THUNDER when Thornton hit that last-second shot. That "pointless win" may well have just added two life-long Kings fans to the mix.

I love getting more pingpong balls, but even under a worse case scenario, where we end up with the 8th most balls, maybe this is the time we cash in...

You know what I'm sayin?

I mean.... SERIOUSLY..... WE ARE OVERDUE for some luck.

Yes, but, unfortunately, luck has no memory.

After the whole Maloof debacle at the BOG this last week, my wife basically turned to me and said, "Well, you can forget about winning the lottery this year."

I'm not saying it's fixed or anything, but after what the Maloof's have pulled, they don't deserve to win the lottery, and therefore, I'm not expecting us to win the lottery, even though we as fans do deserve some good luck.

hope cleveland and new orleans pull out another win before the season is over... as well as us losing the remaining 4 games.

Well, with Minnesota officially eliminating us from the #10 spot in the lottery, I figured it was time (if not way too late) to start the Capt. Factorial version of the TankTracker. (To be honest some of the Maloof Drama taste kind of had to get washed out of my mouth as well.) But here it is!

Tomorrow night there are two games of interest. The Pistons host the injured Timberwolves, who are not in contention and haven't had Kevin Love for a while due to a concussion, in an easily winnable game. If Detroit wins, we can no worse than tie for ninth, and that would earn us 5 lotto combos. The other game of interest is New Orleans hosting Houston - the Hornets have an edge on us in the lotto race and Houston is fighting for a playoff spot, so this one is really a question of whether NO is playing to tank or playing to spoil.

Kings record: 20-42
Kings max wins: 24
Possible lottery position: t2-9
Minimum lottery combos: 17
Possible draft range: 1-12
Current Competition (teams in red will finish below us):
Charlotte Bobcats (7-54)
Washington Wizards (16-46, 4 remaining, 2 against teams under .500, 2 at home)
New Orleans Hornets (19-43, 4 remaining, 1 against teams under .500, 1 at home)
Sacramento Kings (20-42, 4 remaining, 1 against teams under .500, 2 at home)
Cleveland Cavaliers (20-41, 5 remaining, 1 against teams under .500, 2 at home)
Golden State Warriors (22-39, 5 remaining, 2 against teams under .500, 2 at home)
Toronto Raptors (22-41, 3 remaining, 3 against teams under .500, 1 at home)
New Jersey Nets (22-41, 3 remaining, 2 against teams under .500, 1 at home)
Detroit Pistons (23-39, 4 remaining, 2 against teams under .500, 3 at home)

I think we are going to end up in a tie with Cleveland for the 4th slot at 21 wins. They should be able to beat Washington and I am pretty sure we are going to beat Charlotte.

I'm really worried the Kings will do something stupid and beat the Lakers on the last game of the season (in addition to beating the Bobcats).

we could be in the third spot if MT didn't hit the shot

Well, New Orleans decided to play the spoiler against Houston and put the Rockets away in overtime. This means that the Hornets have tied the Kings in the win column. This may actually turn out well for the Kings, because the Hornets have a game against the tank-tastic Warriors left, to counter our game against the miserable Hornets. The Pistons, on the other hand, staved off a win at home against the very injured T'Wolves, breaking Minny's 11-game losing streak by shooting 36% for the day.

Tomorrow there are three meaningful games in Tank City. Naturally there's our matchup hosting the Thunder, who we beat at PBP earlier in the season, a mistake we are unlikely to repeat now that we are starting Tyreke Evans at the 3. In addition, Cleveland hosts the Knicks, who have clinched a playoff spot and are really only fighting for 7/8 positioning - Chicago or Miami? Doesn't really matter, so the Knicks might slack off and let Cleveland accidentally win one. Finally, Golden State travels to Dallas. Dallas has not yet clinched a playoff spot and Golden State is tanking as hard as any team has ever done because if their pick ends up #8 or higher, they lose it to Utah. In other words, don't count on GS winning. They'll lose by 40.

Our players like to win. Unless you can prove otherwise it's a bit shortsighted of you to act like winning a freaking game (ONE game) is such a bad thing.
Look at the standings now and tell me who the shortsighted people are. We are a wrong coinflip from going from MKG/Robinson to looking at Beal/Barnes/Drummond. This is exactly why each win matters so much and exactly why that MT last second winner was horrible for the Kings future.

with what has transpired with the maloofs, i can only hope we don't end up with the 7th/8th spot.

New Orleans' Anthony Davis era will begin a minute after Adam Silver shakes hands with, i assume, the new owner at the lottery.

If there's a chance we fall to 8th... well. The less said about that the better.

yep. no doubt about it. it would be impressive if they scored the first and the third pick assuming the twolves win the the lotto.
