Alright Clippers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow !

Solid Night For The Kings Draft Hopes!

i actually live in LB and was watching it... wow i forget what its like to jump up and cheer for a win!

Rather spectacular night actually -- we still have plenty of time to screw it up, but thanks in part to our own efforts, all three of our closest competitors added Ws to their column and we've got a 2 game cushion going.

My pleasure! I will assume that the Nets win against the Clippers tonight. Maybe that assumption will jinx the Clips into a woss.

fnordius... LOL! nice picture...

wow if we could get the 1st and if HOU ended up in the 8th seed... I would know for certain that God is having mercy on us for Robert Horrys luck shot

Possibly important games in the next week:

Tuesday:
LAC at GSW

Wednesday:
Sac at Charlotte
Chicago at OKC
Washington at LAC :D

Sunday:
OKC at Minnesota :)
Philadelphia at Sac

All of the top teams except for Memphis will have a chance to wose at least one game, and 2 are actually *guaranteed* to wose one, if you still count Minny as a contender. I am REALLY looking forward to the Wiz playing the Clips!

I just wish that the NBA lottery was like the NFL lottery. The worst schedule would guarantee you the first pick.

Then you would see REAL tanking. That's why they had to put it in in the first place (HOU made it a point to tank, and tank hard, to get their Twin Towers Hakeem/Sampson frontline) -- high draft pick/superstars are more important in the NBA than any other major pro sport. Not only would the temptation to tank be nearly irresistible if a Shaq or LeBron were in the draft, you woulkd be a complete idiot NOT to tank to go after them. And I mean really tank too -- not the not 100% dedicated to winning stuff. I mean sitting out your whole team and just refusing to play if necessary tank. The lottery has gradually been moving closer and closer back to being straight by record (when it first started out all lottery teams had an equal shot at #1) but there is still just enough uncertainty in it to make people hesitate on the full tank.

Interesting...as of right now, the Thunder, Memphis and Minnesota are all in their games in the third qurter (Memphis has a nice little lead). And the clippers and Washington play later. Oh please be a banner day for us. Pretty please.

Alas I probably would have preferred Washington to get that win, jsut because if they keep Butler out I have no idea how they can win, whereas the Clippers just remain ridiculous underacheivers and should be able to win a couple if healthy. But oh well, I'll take it -- only 1 team within 2 games of us now.

I have a dream...a dream of entreing the last couple of games of the season with the league's worst record wrapped up...a dream of being able to root for the Kings to win those last couple of games with no regrets or second guessing.

The Sacramento Kings....just lose baby. :p

Yeah, me too. Plus most of Washington's games will be against the East, who have few real punching bags lately. But Washington's coach must have picked up Muss' halftime Kool Aid recipe, they were killing the Clips through the first half.

Still, I'll take it. :)

Guess I'd better do an update now.

1. Sac 14-54 .206
2. Was 16-53 .232
3. LAC 17-51 .250
4. Mem 17-50 .254

I like this thought....maybe Brick should make this a sig (at least for this season)

Well, everybody else took care of business tonight, except Washington, who is still playing. So our safety margin just eroded again. Philly at home now looms as a must lose, and its far from a sure thing.

Kind of the opposite of a few nights ago, we wose while Washington, Memphis, LAC and OKC lin. Not a good ping-pong ball night, to be sure.

Back to 4 teams within 2 wosses of each other.

1. Sac 15-54 .217
2. Was 16-54 .229
3. LAC 17-52 .246
4. Mem 17-51 .250

I'm getting nervous.

I'm getting nervous.
Yeah, me too. Assuming Rubio enters, I think the top 2 look fine, and top 3 would be pretty tolerable, but below that... I dunno. There are good people late in almost every draft, but luck starts becoming a huge factor, and Kings fans can't count on that.

Chance for a top-3 pick, by pre-lottery position:
1. 64.3%
2. 55.8%
3. 46.9%
4. 37.8%
5. 29.2%
6. 21.5%
7. 15.0%
8. 10.0%
9. 6.1%
10. 4.0%
11. 2.9%
12+ Too small to be worth figuring out.

Right now (in 1st), we have almost a 2/3 chance of getting top 3. A mere two wosses could drop us to little more than a 1/3 chance. That's not acceptable.

Prognosis for the next week: It's a great time to be a Memphis fan, and no worse than usual to be an LAC fan. Washington will probably pick up a woss, OKC will probably keep fading into insignificance. And it will be a scary week for the Kings.

Today (Saturday)
Memphis epic lin over Boston
Washington lin vs Phoenix

Sunday
OKC vs Minny ?
LAC vs Toronto ?
Philadelphia vs Sac ?

Monday
Chicago at Washington ?
LAC epic lin at Boston
Memphis lin at Miami

Tuesday
OKC lin vs Lakers

Wednesday
Charlotte at Washington ?
LAC at Knicks ?

Thursday
Nothin'

Friday
OKC at Toronto ?
LAC epic lin at SAS
Memphis visits Sac

Saturday
Washington lin vs Detroit
LAC lin vs Houston
Memphis lin vs Portland

Hopefully, the Knicks will play the Clips like they did against us. Other than that, it does look like a very scary week. Clippers might walk away with a win in Canada (MAYBE) and Wizards COULD possibly beat Bulls and Bobcats in the Capital. hopefully...

Well, we dodged the EASY bullet, but, unfortunately, so did Washington and the Clippers. OKC wost, their 20th, but they're no longer important anyway.

Memphis desperately needs a woss this week, and we are the only ones who can give it to them. We'd better!!! *fidget*

2. Was 16-55 .225
3. LAC 17-53 .243

Sheesh, we just can't get any breathing room... Tomorrow (Mon) are sure wosses for;

Chicago @ Wiz
Min @ Atl
Mem @ Miami
Clips @ Boston

This losing stuff is getting more stressful than being on the cusp of the playoffs...

Washington has some small chance of beating the Bulls, I think. Which would be great. Minny's game doesn't really matter, since they have 20 wosses now anyway, and we will be totally screwed if we ever have that many. But, yeah, this is a tough week for us. And it's a lot more stressful than being on the cusp of the playoffs, because if you just miss the chance to get massacred in the first round, have you really lost anything? There's a lot more at stake in the draft.

Since I've already posted about the bleak mess that is this week, here are some highlights from Sunday and beyond to give a little hope.

Sunday, March 29:
While OKC is enjoying a lin over the Celtics, and we are doing the same with Phoenix, Washington's playing Indiana. Hey, you never know, at least it's a no-risk night for us.

Monday
Memphis @ GSW... it's possible.

Tuesday
OKC @ SAS is a sure lin for them, but NO at Arco should be one for us, too. And OKC's a 20-win team, so who cares?

Wednesday
A scary night, but one guaranteed to have some good in it.
Kings @ GSW
NO @ LAC
Washington @ Memphis :)

After that it gets a bit ugly again, but the key to the whole situation is in our hands. Starting Friday, half of our next half dozen or so games will be against Memphis or GSW. If we can lin those, we will be in good shape heading into the home stretch. If we can't, we will almost certainly lose our grip on 1st place. It's up to the Kings.
