Usually lineup changes dont require its own thread, but whatever. Here it is. Donte finally getting another shot at cracking the rotation. He plays well today and Im sure we'll see more of him. Thats one thing Westphal has been semi consistent about. If you play well you will play. You will be on a very short leash, but you will get playing time until you make too many mistakes.

Is this the first time Donte has started with JT? I know we had a few chemisty discussions earlier in the year, and a lot of the good chemistry we had last season revolved around JT and Donte.

Yeah, what's the deal? Donte is very popular among the fans I talk to, and they all wonder what it is he's doing to ruffle Westphal's feathers. I shrug and claim ignorance. I believe it may have something to do with that same chemistry MKF (the OP) noted. They may view it as unprofessional and detrimental to the team's growth.

JJ is fairly big and a good offensive player. Putting a big, athletic kid, who has proven himself on defense in the past on him is a good idea. But it's still silly to mess up with the rotation again. Donte does deserve some time, but going from one minute stints, and DNPs to starter?

If it turns out good, it shall be welcome.

This probably has to do with the fact that he'll go up against Josh Smith. Donte matches up with him better than Casspi and Garcia.
