Dalembert?

You do realize the vast majority of NBA champions have been playing 4 on 5 on offense? Rare indeed is the team that wins it all which doesn't have one or more non-scorers in its lineup to do the dirty work. Its not all about the offense.

.

But those teams minus Detriot(ofcourse) had atleast one superstar player who could create his own shot and could create for others. We have no such player.

I agree with Celt. Just because he can rebound, and block some shots doesn't mean you go out and get him. You need to make sure that the guy won't disrupt the integrity of your offense. He doesn't need to be passing the ball on every play but he needs to have a better understanding of what to do/not do. Since we are going to reconstruct our offense anyway one would think that it would be easier to incorporate someone like him. And on a side note, I still want to see Williams get a small chunk of minutes. Someone like Williams could be a diamond in the rough.

Uh? Bibby was never on the grizzlies. Reef and Bonzi were for a short time and Bibby and Reef were on the Raptors together. I do not care where they came from if they get the job done. If this guy is not better for us than BM than why bother???
Err for starter yes Bibby was with grizzlies along with Shareef. Neither of these 2 ever played for the Raptors.

Would Dalembert be starting ahead of Miller or Shareef?

If we could actually somehow get him without giving up either of those guys, then I'd be all for it -- three man frontcourt rotation. 1 shooter, 1 post guy, 1 rebounder/shotblocker. There would be questions, but at least it would have a shot.

PG Mike Bibby (shooter, passer)
SG Kevin Martin (slasher, shooter)
SF Ron Artest (post up, passer)
PF Dalembert (rebounder, shot blocker)
C Miller (passer, shooter, rebounder)

6th Man- SAR (post up, slasher)

That's a pretty good mix assuming we could keep both SAR and Brad.

As for the rest, I agree there is a ? hanging over Dalmebert's head -- he came to the game late, and is he ever going to gain the saavy? But he certainly has the raw talents to do things that no Sacramento King can do no matter how many bowls of Wheaties he eats. He'd instantly be the best rebounder and best shotblocker on the team. And for all the mess that accompanies them, when your team has retreated to irrelevance and isn't going anywhere until it finds both shotblocking and rebounding, a young specialist in that area is always worth the consideration. Not as if we don't have large piles of unproductive contracts sitting around looking for a new home.

I agree with you for the most part. Its those piles of unproductive contracts sitting around that scare me. Do we need one more? Maybe, if we can get rid of one we already have in exchange. I'm not crazy about Dalmebert. I've seen little improvement in his game since he came into the league. Could be him, could be the teacher. Change of address sometimes makes a difference. Didn't help the Kandiman though, did it?

I like his talent, his head isn't screwed on totally straight and he has been pretty clear in the past that he wants to play on a team closer to the Carribean where he is from. With that said, I don't give a s**t where he wants to live...earn you money and come block some shots for the Kings. Grab a few boards while your at it Sam.

I like the idea of having Dalembert as a KING. I for one wanted him in the C-Webb trade.
