I once bruised my knee as well ( underside of the knee cap ) and I can say that the knee is one of the most inconvenient places to have a bruise. It took a year to heal. I'm sure Cousins will recover quickly as he's has access to the highest quality medical care.A bone bruise is a good thing right? Can that lead to any long term problems? I was really worried and still am lol. I'd be so pissed

Think he wants this too bad to do that. More a question of whether the coaches there use this as an excuse to take along the gopher.A bone bruise, especially on the knee because of the moving components, needs time to heal. I would expect Cousins to leave team USA.
Yeah like seriously he's our only legit player, if the George thing and now this is not enough to make him pull the pin nothing will, Again who is paying him 15 million dollars a season it sure as hell is not Team USA. I seriously cannot believe GM's/owners don't put something in the contract stopping them from playing in these things.like i said in another post.. don't make a difference to me if he makes the team or not. risk of getting injured in these meaningless scrimmage games is too much for our franchise.

Cousins has already got something out of the experience, training/beating up on the best players in the world but once the tournament starts he's won't be playing against the best in the world anymore and it just becomes meaningless for the most part by NBA standards 90% of the players competing are scrubs hammering Nigeria by 60 points is not going to do anything for his career.
Okay, I'm genuinely confused. Do you not understand the importance of international play to DMC at this point? This is a validation of what he's been working for the past year, especially if you consider the slight he felt at not getting any kind of all-star recognition. He is not going to walk away and there's no way Vivek and Co. would force him to do so.

Big Cuz + Gay among others doing the ALS ice bucket challenge today at team USA practice. Looks like Boogie is moving fine.
Team USA really needs to rethink how they're doing things. You really want these elite high level PROVEN guys trying out like they're in 8th grade? Showing the coach how much they can hustle? In what universe should a guy like Boogie have to beat out a Mason Plumlee. It's absolutely ludicrous.

Nah not really if it were Andrew Bogut playing for Australia I would feel the same way or even say Marc Gasol (who was injured last year) playing again for Spain. To me if your a highly important player on a NBA team (and getting paid well) you should not be doing these sorts of things. I don't mind players like Patrick Mills/Baynes who are easily replaceable and play limited roles playing in the WC but.I just noticed that you're in Australia. Perhaps that explains the difference in POV regarding Team USA participation?

He either plays or he doesn't. He is a basketball player so he plys. There is no or should not be any second gear. If he gets hurt he doesn't play basketball anymore and we talk more seriously about keeping JT or finding a stop-gap center so e can get on with the season.he has immense talent. he's busting his ass in these meaningless scrimmage games to prove he's worthy of being on the squad. this is scrimmage not the real deal olympic games where the gold is on the line. the only positive he can get is being around other proven players and the chance of getting hurt. sorry, to sound like a pessimist but it's clear that he is more talented than half of the bigs there. KD did the smart thing by pulling out. cmon, gonna chance getting hurt over some scrimmage games? cue the allen iverson practice video.
Drummond has great physical tools, that allow him to shine even though his fundamentals are sorely lacking. Andre doesn't communicate very well, reacts, not anticipate on D.Im also pretty confusex as to why Drummond didn't get any burn. He seems to fit the mold of the typical player that kryzewski likes to use at center. You'd think that Drummond/Davis next to each other in the front court makes all the sense in the world.
Where is DMC's pinky toe?
