Hard to believe it, but summer is almost over and our Kings will be shuffling off to Colorado Springs for training camp.

So what are your hopes?

Do you think they'll gel together as a cohesive unit?

Do you think Coach Smart is on the right track by taking them to the Olympic training center?

Is there anyone else who is as excited for this season as I am?

:D

GO KINGS!!

Was any reason given for moving camp to Colorado Springs? I've been there and it's very clean, livable, small city - population around 400-500K. Lots of military in the area with several bases, big and small, plus U.S. Air Force Academy. Elevation is over 6,000 ft. - so actually higher than Denver. Some parts of Colorado Springs above 7,000 ft. Hopefully, it's right move and everyone is in shape or soon will be. Looking forward with great anticipation to seeing Kings back on the basketball court - after this rather depressing, distracting, and very long off season. GO KINGS 2012-13!!

Im SO excited for the season!!!

i cant wait to see the development of Tyreke, DeMarcus and Isaiah, and i cant wait to see how T Rob plays in the NBA

Needless to say, I'm excited about the coming season. Prior to the first game, were in first place. So what if we share it. This team has the talent to be competitive. So I'm excited to see how Smart handles the rotations, and how much emphasis is put on defense.

I've never really payed attention to training camp. What do they do during that time? Is it required for all of the players to attend, or is it voluntary?

Going deer hunting for 8 or 9 days, figure 3 days to gt ready, 2 days to finish our bank reconciliation, a couple days to get most of the dirt off me anD voila!, we're there.

Looking forward to the beginning, as usual and no matter what happens. Always optimistic. PS: At 82 my hunting, to the extent that it is, will be from a stationary position or the front seat of my pick-up.

I like the idea of having training camp in Colorado Springs. Obviously the elevation will do good for the conditioning aspects, but having it away from Sacramento will hopefully mean a more dedicated team. Having it at home means players got to the facility and then go home and do what they do( clubs, video games, whatever etc.). This could bring a better sense of team unity spending all day together and eating together/ hanging out after practice.

I think a few days away from home will be a good thing. I'm excited to see how our players develop this season. I'm also very interested to see how Smart does with a full training camp and season.

Wow!, running gassers at 7000 feet. That should make games at sea level a piece of cake:)

I missed the Colorado Springs thing. How long will they be there?

Four days apparently? That's not long enough for the altitude to be significant for training, so I'm guessing its just basically meant as an away camp to get the team to bond before they return to Sacto.

Not sure if this was posted already, but Josh Akognon, from the Kings' Summer League team, accepted a camp invite from the Mavs.

I have hopes for this season but fear the uncertainty about re location and ownership could mess with the chemistry of this team, hopefully it doesn't

13.

Finally less than two weeks to go in this longest of TDOSes.

But wait! Given that the season ran over this year due to the lockout, isn't this technically the shortest of TDOSes we've had in a long time? Last year's TDOS, now that was long!
