Corliss and Kenny ? SF or PF

I think right now Corliss is considered a backup SF and Kenny a backup PF. Since Corliss has a better post game and Kenny is a better outside shooter, what would you think of having Corliss back up Shareef at PF and Kenny back up Peja at SF?

Corliss' natural position on O is the 3 and on D is the 5. Kenny is just an undersized 4. So look at it like that.

Kenny MIGHT be able to play SF. A nd if he stays and is going to get enough minutes not to become a problme he would likely have to at least part of the time, although Reef played most of his career at SF and may be able top swing down to make room for him.

Corliss at PF is terrible. Its much harder for him to use his postgame against guys 4-6 inches taller than he is, he gets crushed on the boards, and he can't stop guys from just shooting over him. Not a good idea, and one we already saw too much of last season. Only against very specific matchups -- Fortson etc.

In any case, strongly suspect we would like to move one or both of those contracts if we can, so nto going to worry too much about the tweeners roles until we are actually stuck going to camp with them.

Perhaps Kenny will be given the bulk of the back up minutes at BOTH SF and PF. That might also make him happier with his role coming off the bench.

I tend to agree. IF (and this is a big IF) Kenny can take advantage of the move to the bench he COULD be a strong contender for 6th man of the year. As a PF he his quicker than most defenders espcialy the bench players he will see more of, and as a SF his size will no longer hurt him and he can muscle down mosd defenders, and pull down major boards, once again these advantages are espcialy pronounced against the back ups he will see. This really is an opertunity for him if he can view it that way.

As of right now, Corliss would be the back-up SF and Kenny the back-up PF.

Come October, don't think either are in Sac.

I remember, right after the Webber trade, Brian Skinner saying that Kenny is a versatile player that can play the 3 or the 4. I think this season he may get his chance. Kenny will have to at least get 20+ minutes a game b/c otherwise he would be wasted away on the bench.

I agree 100%. Kenny in the 6th man SF/PF role, and see if we can swap Corliss for a C.

You beat me to it. With our line up right now I think KT will be one of the main players chosen for 6th man of the year. I would love to see him here next year but we will see.

I can't see Corliss being on the team when the year starts, we need a defensive player there, I wouldnt mind seeing Garcia & Martin splitting the back up minutes for SG & SF
they could get a good 15 minutes each if we keep Peja around 36-38 a game and Wells at 30.

I don't think we can keep both. I think we need to try and trade one of them for a defensively oriented big man (6'11 or taller).

If the squad stays as it is we are very unbalanced (Thats unless Sampson proves to be a better pick up than many of us are expecting)
