Cole Aldrich if we dont get 1-4

Whether we pick up Bosh or not, I'd still favor Aldrich outside of Wall or Evans and maybe Cousins. Cousins defense scares me more than Aldrich's lack of upside. I wouldn't be upset if we passed on him in a trade down and got something good back.

Pretty sure Bosh is going to haul in more cash than the Kings can throw at him.
More than he's worth IMHO.
I think the current max that any team, other than Toronto can offer is a starting salary of around 16 mil. Thats just about what the Kings have under the cap. So in theory they probably could make a max offer. But that would really limit them in doing much of anything else. I know that I'm in the minority, but I don't think Bosh is worth that kind of money to the Kings. Thats a ton of money, and I don't think he can bring enough reward to be worth it. The Kings have to think beyond this coming offseason.

There's a new CBA coming and we don't know what restrictions are going to be put on resigning players. The Kings have contracts coming up in the future that they need to think about. Yeah I know that we have Tyreke locked up for another three years. Maybe four. But what if the new CBA has a hard cap like the owners want. And along with that, the cap goes down, or stays very close to the same. What happens then if you spend 16 mil on a player like Bosh and that salary is up to around 20 mil in four years and the cap is 52 mil. And after resigning Greene and Thompson and whomever else were sitting there with little or no cap space left.

Do we just sit there and watch Evans walk away to another team because we can't keep him under the new rules. All I'm saying is that the Kings need to put a lot of thought into spending the money they have right now. Thats why I think the best thing they could do is either sit on most of that money until the next offseason, or just do a one year rental and have the money come back off the books next offseason. What they can't afford to do is forfeit the future, for instant gratification now.

If anything, it seems like the Kings need to play for time in order for the economy to come back, and to husband their capital. They can do so by continuing to go young, and even unloading a guy like Noc for picks. Ok by me.

Its all well and good to dream about a Bosh or an Amare. I do it myself, and I certainly understand the desire for another impact player. But I think the Kings first have to get their current house in economic order. They need to plan for the now, and for the future. That means hard decisions on players that they think are part of that future. And again, with the unknown status of the new CBA, I think they need to be very careful about how much they spend, and for how long, until they know what the new rules are going to be.
