Coach Brendan Malone Resigns

whoa. ok...maybe dad not comfortable being underling to his son?

or maybe he just met Bad Boogie for the first time. :p

Basically, a lot of tiring work for his age when he felt the staff had things under control without the dire need of him.

Maybe i'm wrong and paranoid, but maybe he doesn't agree with how Jimmer is being mistreated. As you age, you stop caring about public opinion and start wanting to do what's right, I would think.

Jesus criminy! I've tried to stay out of the insipid and inane "debate" but does everything have to do with Jimmer Freaking Fredette?! The way you're putting it, Jimmer not getting minutes is an atrocity on par with ethnic cleansing in Ethiopia. For Pete's sake, the world doesn't revolve around Jimmer.

Wrong? Yep. Paranoid? Pretty sure. Delusional? Oh yeah.

Now back to the topic at hand...

"As a veteran of 27 seasons in the NBA coaching ranks, Brendan brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to our organization, and we were all fortunate to have had an opportunity to work with him," Kings general manager Pete D'Alessandro said. "His departure is not indicative of a loss of passion for the game or his desire to help our franchise succeed, but rather a decision based on factors associated with the rigors of coaching in the NBA."

"I'm thankful that I had my father on our staff during the summer and throughout training camp as I transitioned into a head coaching role," Michael Malone said. "He was my father long before we became colleagues, and while I'll miss his presence on the bench, he will always be an invaluable source of counsel on all matters basketball and otherwise."

I sure hope this has nothing to do with Cousins sitting out that one game. Either way, I wish that dude the best and hope the staff or players aren't too badly affected by this.

You truly never know with Cousins...

Too bad. But if he's already exhausted, when the season hasn't gotten started yet, then it's best for him not to coach. Would hate to see him have some sort of health problems because he didn't do this move

?????

Why would it have anything to do with Cousins getting some rest?

And why would the staff and players be too badly affected?

Brendan Malone isn't dead, any more than Coachie is dead.

You truly don't get it, do you? We do not suffer trolls. Period.

If you aren't here to discuss the Kings as a FAN, you just aren't gonna make the cut. We've got to get our roster down, you know, and ready for the regular season.

Remember, this is a father-son dynamic we're talking about here. It's quite possible we'll never get any real insight into what happened.

Before I saw that quote, it struck me as dad just helping with the transition and then pulling away to let his son go at it alone.
Now, I dunno. Maybe he just decided that he didn't have the energy for the regular season and/or he figured things would be just fine without him.
It's likely we'll never know, so it's best to wish him well and move on.

Your never sure why any of these things take place. Until I hear something to the contrary, I'll just accept whats been said by the organization. No reason not to.

Lol. Don't even think about sending him down to D-League, just do it.
