I've refrained from making this post, because I was concerned people would take it the wrong way. I've decided, however, that I don't care if people take it the wrong way.
Way back when, Chris Webber made some comments. He said, among other things, that he wanted to play with guys who wanted to win as badly as he did. He also mentioned that he wanted to round out his game - to do everything he could to help his team win. He said other stuff, too...
Some people used those comments to make it sound as though Chris was putting himself above the team, as though he was trying to make himself look good at the expense of the rest of the guys.
Some people said all along that Webber was simply speaking the truth. That he was saying he was going to give his all, and he was challenging the rest of the team to be a part of it...
I think Webber has done exactly what he has said he would do AND I think the team is meeting his challenge. I, for one, am awfully glad #4 is still a Sacramento King.
Webber made a comment once that he hoped he had earned the right to retire as a King. Well, in my book, he has definitely earned that right!
Awesome comeback from what could have been a career-ending injury.
Thank you, Chris Webber!!!!!
