Can Peja play Shooting Guard?

Lets face it unless we sign and trade Mobley. Evans will be our starting 2. Baring a FA pickup less than the MLE which probably won't be any better than Evans. With Evans, Marting, and possibly Barnes coming back that is 3 ppe at the 2 position. Much of the focus will be on the PF position, for that is what hurts us the most.
What if Orlando buys out the final year of DC's contract would we look at him for minimal pay as possibly a bench guy who also can be a mentor to someone like Martin?

It's only May and we're already to the point of desperation where we think our best solution is to move Peja to a guard position?

...

That would not IMHO do anything to make this team better.
If it is any consolation I was thinking this last October.

My goodness -- has it really come down to this? Our 10th/11th/12th men at the beginning of last season now our incumbents? Its high time these playoffs were just over so we could REALLY get into TDOS already. Let's just flip a coin or play Ro-Sham-Bo or something to see who gets the title, and get to the interesting part of the year where Geoff either sinks us or teaches us how to swim again.

Actually Mo is no longer on our team, so counting on him to be our starting anything is dubious until/unless he resigns with us.

P.S. Regarding bringing back Doug -- again, just a sign of desperation. We trade Doug because he's obviously fading, his replacement leaves us, so we resign the washed up OG we moved to start the whole rebuilding? There's got to be a better plan than that. Much as Vlade/Doug were beloved ex-Kings, bringing them back as players in their dotage is not a plan for the future, but remaining stuck in the past as we slowly fade back into mediocrity.

How do you figure? Mo Evans isn't bound to the Kings. He's a free agent - and there is NO GUARANTEE we'll get him back, especially if the purse strings aren't opened up a bit. As far as doing a sign and trade for Mobley, that's most likely not going to happen either... IF Cuttino signs with us, it will be a big contract and will most likely contain some kind of trade restriction. The ONLY player you've mentioned that we currently have is Kevin Martin.

Then we are in a world of trouble. Baring Kenny Thomas growing 4 inches and gaining 30 pounds we need a PF. Without Evans(who had a hint of potential) we also have no SG. We are still over the cap and can't sign anybody more than the MLE and anybody under it probably won't be any better than evans or Thomas. So baring some idiot team trading with us and giving us better personnell than what we are giving them we basically have Bibby, Peja, and Miller next year for the other 2 spots just fill in the blanks with some has been never was or never will be. Its time to see just how magical GP can be.

I agree with Brick about Thomas. If we go into next season with Thomas our PF don't expect much. Sure we will probably win 40 or so games and get to the playoffs just to loose in the first round to SA, or PHX, or Dallas which will have the top 3 spots.

This is a logical impossibility; San Antonio and Dallas cannot occupy two of the top three seeds.

And so the picture gets a little clearer...
