More athletic/more coordinated =/= better offensively. To whatever extent it might be true, it's a specious argument at best, and really, we're talking about two career bench weights... Justin Williams is "better offensively" than Shelden Williams in about the same respect that Desagana Diop is "better offensively" than Adonal Foyle. I suppose I'd rather lob the ball to Diop than Foyle, but if I have a guy who, under a DEFCOM 3 situation might actually get minutes, I'd take Foyle. And that's how I feel about Shelden Williams. His career stats bear out that, when he gets 10+ minutes, he actually is not completely worthless. I'd bet you anything that, if he were getting Moore's minutes (17 per versus 9), he'd be putting up better numbers. I'm not willing to go out on a limb and say that about Justin.

I remember Justin having a few starts back when, and when he got his minutes looked decent enough. Even logging a few double-doubles.

That said however, yes they are both career bench weights, and I reiterate that the fact a game thread turning into a Sheldon V. Justin debate is just sad sad sad...

Just for the record:

Justin had a higher FG% than Shelden, but scored about 25% less points per 48 than Shelden's done this year. He did, however, outrebound Shelden by 40% (per minute), and outblocked him by about 30%. Shelden has a higher FT% than Justin, but that's not saying much.

Justin: more offensively retarded, but a better defensive player, if stats mean anything.

Nice work and research. However you don't have to convince me I liked Justin alot better at least he played with energy where as Sheldon plays with....I guess Candice.

wow I thought we would at least be able to keep it closer than this... losing by 21 at home to the team like bulls is absolutely pathetic... I think we really are the worst team in the nba...

as for the homers, I'm sure if another fan sat and listened to our announcers, they would proclaim the same thing. There's two sides to a coin.

It's only natural for the commentators to be slightly biased, that's understandable. But these guys were downright rude, like their purpose was simply to insult the Kings and root for the Bulls, instead of actually giving a running commentary. Grant and Jerry are fairly homer-ish, but at least they give credit where credit is due and like give the opponents a "fair chance". The Bulls guys said "The Bulls can get anything against this Sacramento defense any time, the Kings only threat is Kevin Martin" about like twice every minute.

And then there are times when other commentators get the players' names wrong. Like mixing up Brad Miller and Kevin Martin wrong. The best I've heard so far were the Clippers when we played them. Excellent, supporting the Clippers but at the same time portraying the Kings in a respectable manner

I've never seen anyone else put on such a dramatic display every time they fall down as Francisco Garcia. I swear he always has to spend an extra 10 seconds on the floor and then get up with that face like he's in excruciating pain. Then he staggers around like he's walking it off like a tough guy. A minute later he's perfectly fine and back to playing again.

Just get up and play the game.

He used to be a soccer player!

The "supposedly" was facetious, and used to poignantly comment on his lack of ball control.

And I do need to lighten up, but this kings team plays with no pride, passion, intensity, or even a duty to their contract.

No! Your dead wrong about the Bulls announcers. Trust me, I listen to a lot of other teams announcers and the Bulls rank up there as one of the worst. Grant and Jerry seem like network announcers by comparison. There are some very good announcers around the league, but these guys are really hard to listen to.

One of the most fustrating aspects of this season so far is that we are getting absolutely NOTHING from our pg position. Kevin is playing ok. John is John. Selfish but still contributing something. Jt is improving every time he steps on the floor. Brad is hot and cold, but his minutes won't change untill he gets shipped out or spencer starts playing a little better. But Beno is doing absolutely nothing. If anything he is getting worse. I like Bobby Brown, but he has no playmaking ability. I'm trying to think of the last time we had a starting pg that was worse than Beno. Tyus Edney played like an allstar compared to this piece of crap.

I don't understand the rancor with which some made comments in this thread. (Just as a note, personal insults and over-the-line derogatory or plain rude comments are still inappropriate and against board rules.)

If you look at ANY rebuilding team, you're going to see mistakes, disappointment, more mistakes, lackadaisical attitudes, a drop in team chemistry, empty seats, etc. It's all part and parcel of the inevitable drop to the bottom before the climb hopefully back towards the top.

What we're seeing right now is not unusual nor is it unexpected.

Suck it up, folks. It's liable to get even worse before it truly starts to get better. People wanted to rebuild. The comment was made on this board with almost predictable frequency that it wouldn't matter, people shouldn't worry, the fans would return once the product improved, etc.

There's an old adage that says "Be careful what you wish for." Well, this is what a lot of people wished for (whether they want to talk about the differences or split hairs over how it's being done or not).

You can either continue to watch, suffering with the team and biting the bullet, or you can find something else to do until the worst part is over. It's not a task for the faint of heart.

I'm not saying not to criticize or complain. I was screaming at the TV myself last night. But I think people need to keep in mind that this isn't a team. It's a group of players, a good portion of whom know they won't be around next year. It's gonna keep being ugly and frustrating and all those things...but we can always change the channel. Those guys have to suit up and come out on the court every night. Abysmal individual performances are predictable, even if they're not what we want to see. They're even understandable.

My strong advice is to take consolation in things like the galloping improvement of Jason Thompson. Cheer for him because he and the other kids are our future...

GO KINGS!!!
