Bowen plays dirty , Gets Carter ejected...

Who saw that tonight ... Vince lit up the Spurs , and Bowen on both sides of the ball... so Bowen tried to undercut Carter (like last year where Carter got hurt on) and Carter got pissed and went after Bowen but got ejected... i think Bowen needs to be suspended or taught a leason... it was pathetic what type a player Bowen is...

Carter got Carter ejected. Bowen did what he alwasy does, hard D, right to the edge of getting called but escaping the whistle.

Bowen is a dirty b******. He deliberately steps under a player who has gone up for a jump shot.

again..i never really gave bowen a second thought...but when i saw the clip like a week and a half ago on this site in one of the threads where he karate kicked Wally...::shakes head:: im no fan of Mr. Bowen

I, as well, like that statement. I wish Bowen faces the same fate that he causes to others.

I think Bowen is intermittantly an abject scumbag for undercuting jump-shooters like Vince Carter. I think the larger problem is actually Greg Popovic, who I believe expects that sort of chicken play. The Spurs and Jazz resort to overt court-crimes and cryptic misdemeaners when they are losing games.

I just saw that on ESPNews... it looked deliberate... I give props to Carter for stepping up to him, too bad the refs are horrible in the NBA... I am deffinitly not a Bruce Bowen fan.

Paging striker. It's another one of THESE threads.

Sad, but true. Bowen's a dirty SOB.
If Lakers fans and Kings fans are actually agreeing on something, you can take it to the bank. The Spurs are the Darlings of the NBA right now but Bowen is going to end somebodies career pretty soon.

bowen didn't do anything. carter leg whipped bowen and tried some wwf take down, then ran after him as if he was coach mitchell.

your coach is going to wonder why the outside shooter you're covering got the rebound so you better block him out and keep your eyes open for the ball. it sucks that carter got hurt last year, but things happen in a physical game. and it's possible that carter was just trying to loaf. he's admitted to as much.

Dave, at some point this "coincidences" or "just playing hard" moments start to add up.

i personally am sick of the Bowen excuses

but i find solace in the old mantra

"what comes around goes around"

and Bruce will get his one day...i guarantee it

One swift elbow to the chin would put a stop to Bowens antics. Could you imagine if Bowen tried that stuff on Sir Charles. He'd beat him down worse than he beat Shaq. I'd say Bowen would think twice next time!

it's not coincidences. bruce plays physically and the small guards of the league don't like to be defended. of course they are going to complain. but how many have been injured by bruce bowen? he's not karl malone, for god's sake. one guy landed on his foot and said he put his foot there on purpose.

it's going around, but it's not coming around. bruce doesn't play a lick of offense, so nobody covers him. it's not like he's ray freaking allen. in fact, that's how he gets his shot. if he gets clubbed by an enforcer, the officials know it's intentional.

one swift elbow to the chin will get someone suspended and bruce will keep playing defense because that's how he earns his paycheck. i have no idea what sactownkid does for a living, and maybe you'll stop earning money because some goon comes after you, but bruce makes a lot more and he'll take his chances.

he's not dirty, he plays defense. defense may be boring to many fans, but it's what keeps us from having to watch 1,231 all star games /season.

I'm sure you think him stepping under Carter last year was just coincidence...right?

Yeah I see your point. Bowen is a dangerous and dirty player. After all look at all the guys he's injured. Let's see Carter and ...... umm ..... well .... hmm .................

What about Wally? Who Bowen was Kung Foo Fighting(HiYA)

<everybody sing with me>

That Spur thinks hes fast as lighting (HiYA)

Boy his takedowns are indeed frightning....

Every season Spurs Fans come hear saying the same excuses about Bowens dirty tactics. "Its just hard-nosed defense or "its (insert name)'s fault"

If the NBA had any cojones they'll give Bowen 5 games. But the likelyhood of that is between slim and none and slim is on his way Topeka.

Yeah I see your point. Bowen is a dangerous and dirty player. After all look how many times he's been thrown out of games for dangrous and dirty player. There's was ..... um ...... well ..... hmm ........

Bill Laimbeer barely missed a game over the course of his career due to dirty play either. That's the art of a "good" dirty player -- dirty, a little dangerous, but know how and when to do it so as to avoid sanctions in most cases.

Lambeer was ejected, T'd up, fouled out numerous times. He just didn't push it to the level of a Artest. He was not a stupid player.

Define dirty and you can make Bowen dirty. Does he hold some, yeah. Does every good perimeter defender hold some particularly coming off screens? Thing is there are damn few good perimeter deenders. Artest is revered by some but he uses his strength to bump players off balance as a major weapon. Is that dirty? When a player like Kobe constantly on offense uses his off arm to clear out on the drive or push his player off to get seperation is that dirty?

What Bowen does most is constantly touch players, chest, arm, stomach. Offensive players, particularly the prima donnas hate to be crowded, touched. It irritates them and they react. B

In the post Miller's defense is jpretty grabby, pushy, holdy and he's thrown some pretty hard fouls, knocked people down deliberately. I've seen at times where NBA fans have accused him of being "dirty". But Kings' fans love the "toughness" he brings.

This is not an argument I'll win here. I think it's safe to say though I'm sure I'll get some vehement denials that If Bowen was a Kings' player most here would be lauding and loving him.

Yes...and still have the integrity to admit we had a dirty player. Same way we had a flopper before. Look in the mirror, grow some honesty. You'll find it refreshing.

The real problem here is the refs. If one player is going to play provocateur, that's fine until he starts risking injury to the other guy. But he should NEVER get the benefit of the refs as well. If he dishes it out, then he should have to take it and more in return. Cost of doing business. If a ref is going to let that crap go on all game then he has absolutely no business getting involved in the least bit until the other guy hauls off and actually smacks Bowen.
