BTW, I was not referring to the bench. When I say we can make up for someboyd being out, this is what I mean: Right now Bibby and Brad are both about 2ppg below where they were last year, Reef is 5 below his career average, and Bonzi is 4 belwo where he was last time he was a starter. 2+2+4+5 = 13pts right there without even asking anybody to go above and beyond what we already KNOW they can do. That leaves a grand total of 8.8pts for whoever is filling in for Peja to make up. Imminently doable.
Are we more potent with Peja? Sure. But we have MORE than enough offensive personnel to make up those points 8 nights in 10, and certainly over any short term injury. And same goes if the man going down was Reef (in fact Thomas could easily equal his numbers), Bonzi (although his baording would be badly missed) etc.. We are overstocked with offensive personnel performing WELL below normal levels to make room for others. If those others go down, we've got all sorts of players to step up. And that's before we even get to eh bench where we have guys wanting to start, Corliss who is a double figure scorer with minutes etc.
bozzwell said:The real question is: If Pedja doesn't play because of sprained pinky, but gets into it with obviously much tougher teammate, like Bonzi, and if were (for the sake of argument) clock Bonzi, what does that mean? Pedja is soft because he can't play through pain, or Pedja is hard because he took it to Bonz?
king-me said:peja taking it to bonzi...c'mon man, get off it. peja has never taken it to anyone on the basketball court...why would he off of it? the guy does not respond well to criticism or agressiveness. that is exactly what is wrong with our team...we're too soft. until we shed this skin and prove to be otherwise, we're still going to carry that label. the players share only some of the blame. petrie needs to bring in some tough hard-nosed players that play defense and the coach has to reinforce this in practice and on the court. that's why adelman gets so much flack, because he allows poor defense without holding his players more accountable.
Bricklayer said:Unfortunately losing the respect of your teammates is not "much ado about nothing". Much of the rest of the league considers him a wuss, its one thing. Your own teammates...well, not the first time Peja's teammates have reached that conclusion and it creates the basis for a schism.
IMO, on the court Peja's sitting out with this "injury" has cost the Kings exactly zero games so far -- playing with a bad finger (and worrying about it) I doubt he was going to be much help against the Spurs, and we got the win tonight.
And so while I think Peja is a complete wuss and will argue that fact exhuastively against the legion of excusoids and enablers out there, I don't think him being a wuss has really hurt us here. I actually get far more annoyed with the people constantly trying to excuse it than I am concerned with Peja sitting out itself. It hasn't hurt us yet, and frankly I think people are a bit off when they think its likely too anytime soon. The way our team is constructed I think we can lose ANY of our starting 5 and the others can smoothly step on over, up their own roles, and compensate. Everybody is being underutilized with the possible exception of Peja, and so an injury actually represents an opportunity for the other players to step forward and get their shots and make the larger contributions they have shown themselves capable of over their careers. I am considerably more concerned about locker room stuff than I am about the product on the floor itself.
frankie said:OK we got it. He got it too. Everyone does. He's a wuss. So what now? Can that be changed somehow by calling him wuss 5 times a day on some stupid kingsfans.com or even worse his teammate calling him in a national media? I garantee you not. He's gonna be playing like that his entire career and teams will still want him. And you know what? That wuss is making more money in a month than you make in a lifetime. You are pathetic, sitting your sorry *** in front of computer 24/7 and calling HIM a wuss. Isn't that funny, that the guy you call wuss 5 times a day has had more succesfull career in the last 6 years than you wil ever have for the rest of your miserable life. You loser!

Bricklayer said:Peja wouldn't even know where to begin in mine.
forza kings said:I don't necessarily disagree with Frankie. Why is it okay to call a Kings player wuss, but not okay to call a cyber personality (we're all that here) loser? Obviously, as a Kings fan, he cares about Peja more than this Bricklayer guy.
Gargamel said:Didn't Bonzi make some kind of racial comment about the Mavs a couple years ago? Soft whiteboy type of statement? Maybe it was a dig against Peja.
6th said:forza kings, before you call out someone like "this Bricklayer guy" you should know what the heck you are talking about.
And, as far as calling a cyber personality a loser, it is expressly against the rules here at KingsFans.com, to name call any other member. It doesn't matter what you think of a person's views, you cannot attack the member......period!!
bozzwell said:Have you notice the smily and "if" in my post? And that whoosh that you heard was the joke flying over yourr head.![]()
forza kings said:shouldn't it be against the rules to call a KINGS player wuss? Honestly it doesn't bother me if Frankie or anybody calls somebody that I know only by a nickname loser if that person is calling a player from my team a wuss.
burekijogurt said:I think employees should be forced to work sick or injured if they are at all capable. There should be some kind of corrective action that the employers are allowed to take (lowering salary for example) if the employee wusses out like Peja did. In addition, his coworkers and customers should remind such a person that his/her dedication is not up to par, and that he/she should probably be looking for another job. Lots of people work injured or sick and there is no reason why someone who wusses out should be let off easy. Either you are willing to put your health on the line like everyone else, or don't bother to work at all.
king-me said:i did notice the "if" in your post and my comment still stands. you should get those silly thoughts out of your head, because there are no if's or maybe's about peja taking it to bonzi...it ain't ever gonna happen! next time read the post carefully instead of responding stupidly...since even if i hadn't seen the "if" in your post, it still has nothing to do with my comment.![]()
bozzwell said:Mr. Thought Police Officer. I _still_ find idea of Pedja taking it to Bonzi and resulting conundrum to be hilarious.
Don't look up, that wasn not a sonic boom.
