bojan_pecanac said:An assist is the pass that leads to basket, as simple as that. Setting up a player for a jumpshot is an assist.
I always thought the assist rule in basketball was the same for every league. No wonder his assist # is much lower than I expected.piksi said:Not in FIBA basketball

KKSloga said:There is not one player currenly in the NBA today that is more clutch then he is. He is just amazing. I wish you had a chance to watch him VF21 because you would appreciate his game and desire to win.
piksi said:no dribble. You get an assist if player gets a lay up or a dunk.
I might be wrong here if they changed somethintg in the last year but other than that...
Bricklayer said:Fierce competitor though which is really what set him apart -- if you could have just played Dr. Frankenstein and stitched Dejan's head onto Peja's body you really WOULD have Larry Bird. If he COULD adapt his game, he could help. But its just a big ??? for an aging player.
AleksandarN said:That is not true. There is only one most clutched player in the world and he wears the number 8 on back of his jersey
BullKing said:Yeah, i should've said "HAS". I thought he was 32??
bozzwell said:There is a difference: Dejan wins 1 to 3 titles a year through shear force of his will. Kobe has all the ability that Dejan can only dream about, and all that he does is dominate the ball - not the game.

bozzwell said:They used to be much more similar. Over the years, NBA has "relaxed" the rules over and over again in the interest of expanding the appeal of the game. NBA simply would never become this big if it apealed only to basketball nuts and puritans. In Europe (as you know) we have good old nationalism or age old intra-city rivalries to keep interest at a very high level.

Kings-Lakers-Fan said:Nicely said, Kobe has a ton of talent, but its a waste. Bodiroga got to the top be going to the gym for 8 hours everyday and shooting thousands of shots, working on his dribbling, defence, etc. Kobe has all this talent, but has an enormous ego and a "Me in Team" attitude. Dejan is the complete opposite. Fantastic skill, team first, leader and strong work ethic. Which one would you rather have on your team? I say Bodiroga.
Not in Europe mate.Heuge said:I thought an assist made if a player scores with 3 or less dribbles after the pass...but I am certainly no expert.
Peja said:Very interesting. We started with story about Dejan and finished with assists rules![]()
Anyway,as I said,Dejan told me that he is not interesting to go to the NBA now,so "that's all I have to say about that"![]()
And about his position, well in Serbian national team he plays everything except C.He got child last summer, and he said that he want to retire from the national team this summer on the European Championship.
I agree that this is not time for him to come to Kings and I would prefere for him to stay european legend!
Bricklayer said:Actualyl I don't think the NBa assist rule has changed in 20 yrs at least. Can't speak to the olden days.

Is Dejan your biological brother, or were you using "brother" as a figure of speech? Well, either way, I believe that you know him well. Tell him that many Kings fans are sorry that he never came over and helped the Kings win some championships. I, for one, believe that we (with him and other talent we had) would have 2-3 championship rings by now.
Well, he chose a different route to basketball greatness. I know that some people believe that unless you play in the NBA you cannot be a legitimate great. I, on the other hand, think that some people can trancend that idea. Dejan is a basketball god in Europe for a reason. He earned all the accolades that he received. Tell him, that whatever the future holds for him, KingsFans.com wishes him well.
Peja said:Well,he is son of my uncle, here we say brother from uncle and I suppose that you call it cousin?
I am very close with him and I'll tell him your best wishes for sure!
