If he's Lemieux's capital man maybe he is Webber's as well?

This gets my heart excited, but didn't the Maloofs say that the Kings aren't for sale?
But if someone is interested in buying a share and keeping the team in Sacramento, that may influence the vote.
Also known to have supported Phil Angelides for CA State Treasurer.
I'd of paid to be a fly in that room.sam_amick Sam Amick
He dropped Burkle's name, and source says Stern went quiet. "You've got Burkle?"

Please God make it so!!!!!!

Burkle been working on this for weeks. When KJ told Stern he had a possible buyer, the commish made crack about it being a local car dealer.
Lets not let his terrible politics dissuade us from letting him buy the Kings and keep them here.
Interesting side note, he is from Pomona, which is like 30 minutes from Anaheim (assuming no traffic).

mayor sez burkle, who is very rich, and local developer darius anderson are very serious about keeping or bringing a team to sac
#herewesell!!!!
:d
Maybe this has been a ploy to increase the value of the franchise before they sell? Doubt it though.
That wouldn't make any sense if they aren't going to sell before they move...if they move. Why would KJ bring Burkle up? Does he know something we don't?? I knew there would be a couple of bombshells dropped before Monday! Stay tuned!!!

Darius Anderson, Sonoma developer with offices in Sac, says he couldn't sit by and let Sac lose its team. "Personal passion" motive.

I am skeptical not of Ron Burkle but of multiple moving parts (possibly N.O. Franchise in the mix)? Still, the Burkle Bombshell drops

If Maloofs convinced the colleagues today that things aren't as dire financially for them as has been reported, then they're fine.
If, however, the good ol' boys club decides that they're not viable, then there could be pressure to sell. That's where Burkle comes in.
All that being said, they really have been adamant that they would not sell the team.

let the maloofs have the hornets and let burkle buy and keep the Kings in sacramento
An ideal outcome. Doubt it would happen, but an ideal outcome. Becomes slightly more possible if the board votes no.
Would that be a Kings team rep that said that? At least one side is actually trying. But the Burkle plan was met with skepticism in the owners's executive committee meeting. "Too little, too late," one team rep said.
