I feel bad for Ben. He gets injured after playing some of the best of his career. Suddenly, Marco is given the start and he plays well. I get the feeling that this game is fools gold for Marco and George Karl is mining for it.

I don't want to totally bash on Marco after a good game so I'll give him his props. Good game Marco.

The main problem with Marco is his role and what Coach Karl is asking of him. He is strictly a spot shooter and shouldn't be a ball handler that has to make decisions. Good signing but he is being asked to do something he is not very good at.

Wait, what? You considered that a good game?

His overall play was not really a negative.

Can't shoot, but he gave us effort on defense, and the nice thing was the passing. Given Rajon being off again, I don't think we win it without Bel's passing tonight. Made smart decisions, wasn't just finding open guys, but setting them up.

Not the right time for a Bels sucks thread really. Unless you want to make it a Bels sucks at shooting thread.

To be fair, if the original poster turned the game off after the first 40 minutes, he'd be perfectly warranted in posting this thread.

Terrible ... joke ...

Damn, dude. The guy has been in a slump. I was glad to see him step up tonight and contribute to the win. Maybe it's just me, but I think all this player bashing has gotten very old.
half a year is a bit more than a slump. I'd love for him to turn it around.. truly i would....... but he's for real the 3rd worst rated defensive player in the LEAGUE...

Any questions?

Lmao. "Any questions?" Haha that was funny.

I really wonder whats up with this Mclemore kid. It does not matter who we bring in as a SG, he gets them to play the worst ball of their career so he can get more minutes.
First it was Thornton. His stats for the 13/14 kings: 8.3 points on .381 fg% and .318% 3-P%. The next year, he ruined Stauskas. His stats: 4.4 points on .365 fg% and .322 3-P%. This year it is Belinelli: 10.8 points but a .382fg% and a .307 3-P%. Apparently Jason Terry realised Bens diabolic plan soon enough and was wise to never show up on this cursed team.

:p

“I’m going to keep shooting,” Belinelli said. “I’m not worried about my shooting. I know that I didn’t shoot well the last couple of weeks or month, but I’m going to keep shooting. That’s what I do.” -Marco

well good news he shoots 22% from 3 last night ... and 30% from 3 on the year and he's not worried... he also doesn't seem to realize its been all season not just a week ... or month...

What would you rather him say? I'd rather the guy be confident about going out there and doing what he's been proven to be able to do for years...rather than say he's worried about his shot and doesn't know what to do.

Not me. JT complained too much. Kosta has shooting slumps but he is very good at times. JT was a good defender against certain players. That was about it IMO.
Kosta is one of the few players I'm still happy to have on board.
I wonder if anyone can be consistent or perfect fit for the system Karl is running. Even our floor general delivers the ball to the opposing players as many as to his own.

Well, considering he's played for 5 other teams, there's a ~17% chance that any given night he should have extra motivation, then....

I haven't seen this effect Marco this year so far.

++++++++++
Marco's well timed 3 pointers helped seal the win in this game against the Bucks at the end. Oh, and his +/- for this game was +9! That is all I have to say about that:)
Thank you, Forrest.

Do people give extra credit for shots made at crucial moments? I'm interested. This is what Marco did. I do and that has nothing to do with anything rational except that at a point in the game where the tension is at its greatest, it feels very good that someone can shake the jitters and score. Shots made at this time probably helps to prevent a total team meltdown. Yes? No?

The term is "Closer".......the ability to do something when the pressure is on and when it matters the most. A basket at the 5:00 minute mark of the 2nd quarter is pretty normal and mundane. A basket with time running down that keeps your team in the lead is a bigger deal:)

I know nothing is predictable with this team except that they may do exactly the opposite as predicted. However, I just listened to Karl and his voice seems stronger and he seems to be in a great mood. That's a good thing, right? :( I have often wondered if Karl's frailty impacts the team in a negative way.

Marco good game. Made some key shots. Wish he had the last shots before the one at the end which had no chance.

I believe "yes", his well timed shots are money, although his PG% is the lowest this season, most of his shots are made in crunch time. That's what counts to me and he's never shy about demanding the ball, whereas the rest usually disappear except Boogie, maybe Rondo in crunch time. His confidence rubs off on them, I think it helps from a meltdown.
