Artest trade stuff HERE!! (merged)

The anger seemed reserved for the arena and environs. Correct me if I'm wrong, and I could bne becauseI am certainly no huge Artest follower, but he's been clean off the court too, right? Saves his brawls for the arena? ;)

I believe Artest is mentally ill and I'm not saying that lightly. It may be something he simply can't control as opposed to just keeping your mouth shut or your temper in check.

walsh also said the trade could take some time....

which is another way of saying...

"ok boys, let the bidding begin....

and i can continue to watch u lose game isiah, till u understand weve got nothing to talk about until u start the conversation with frye....

and mitch, no matter how much u try, we arent taking odoms contract off ur hands...repeat after me, B-Y-N-U-M...

and we will let magloire continue to get more and more unhappy in milwaukee...

and...

....

...

sorry geoff, but pejas not enuff...hes likely to walk at the end of the season and we simply wont go empty handed..."

i think some hope that its a firesale....but when u think about it, the pacers have zero to be in a hurry for....he can stay on the inactive list the rest of the year and it not be the end of the world....better for him to not play than him to play where he could hurt the pacers chances and they got nothing worthwhile for him...thats the only advantage to his being grossly underpaid...

If artest was mentally ill I think he'd get a doctor for that.

report out of ATL has

Al Harrington, Donte Smith and cash to Indiana, who send Artest to NY who send Hawks Marbury

I think that's my point. It may be hard to gauge the market for a bi-polar player who is one "incident" from being out of the league. I'm not saying that a team won't take a gamble. I could see expiring contracts as opposed to young talent.

Please, for the love of God, no; I LIKE the Hawks; I was going to take my pops to see a Hawks game when I go to my parent's house for the holidays... I can't go if they have FSM.

reggie just said that donnie wouldnt send ron to new york....

none of know for sure, but i certainly dont think he would send him to new york for al harrington who will be a free agent at the end of the season and most likely would leave again and donta smith....

like reggie said, donnie isnt gonna put him somewhere where it could come back and hurt them....

if donnie is gonna send him to new york-the place he wants to go, then i think new york is gonna have to pay dearly for him....and al harrington and donta smith dont fit that bill....now if channing frye was coming from new york and al from atlanta...that might make a bit more sense...

at least enuff to tempt them to send him somewhere they really dont want to....

one thing is for certain, if ron goes to the knicks, then u would see a great rivalry pick up some steam...

Hmm..after breezing through a few Pacers boards I think I must say I ahve been taking the wrong approach. For some strange reason it seems they are thoroughly convinced that Peja is soft as butter and disappears when needed most and therefore would rather have Odom or even Al Harrington.

Have NO idea where they could have gotten those awful slanderous ideas about Peja and so I have decided to set the record straight for any Pacers fans pondering a possible Peja/Artest swap:

Peja is a flat out stud. Just a man amongst men. He spends all night grabbing "muscular rebounds", throws himself all over the court with reckless abandon, and swells to Herculean proportions when the real game is on and things get tight late. Cold blooded as all hell, and just a rock in there for you. When the going gets tough, even the tough turn to Peja for leadership and fierce competitive spirit.

So there you go. ;) Please forward this message onto Donnie Walsh and Bird when you get a chance. Thx.

He is mental because he was raised in the Hood? Thats not a nice thing to say about a man noone here knows personally.

Harrington I bet would go to the Bulls or Knicks next year.

I don't see Artest going to a rival or division team. If he goes to Knicks, that's cool, I live in NY ;). I don't know though.

I can't see the Knicks trading away Frye...

That's not what I'm saying. It has nothing to do with where he grew up!

I believe he actually has bi-polar disorder. It's a clinical disease that requires medication.

No, there are plenty of people raised in "the hood" that don't act like Artest.

zeke wanted frye, no doubt...

so he got him...

but zeke and larry brown are both flighty....and as much as zeke liked frye, i guarantee u he is deadset on trying to get artest...artest is his boy...in fact, some of these problem ron has might not be quite so bad if zeke hadnt somewhat enabled him when he was the coach...

and donnie will probably draw this out....knowing the longer he waits the more offers hes likely to get....and the better the offers will be....and zeke will just be going nuts...i would be a bit shocked if the pacers couldnt get at least tony davis, frye, and at least one of the other youngins out of zeke....

but that being said i really dont think donnie will trade him to new york....the offer will just have to be so much better than anything else out there....

which will put the pacers in a position to drive up the bidding....they will most likely use isiah to drive up the price....

So, what you're saying is that you're actually Ailene Voisin?

Yeah, and peja is such a great passer. He is so unselfish, except that when the game is on the line he takes the shot so nobody else has to! (please get this message to bird too)

How can anyone forgett his athletic ability. He is the first favorite in the dunk competition this season. Way before Chris Anderson

That's classic. That should be on open mic on Comedy Central.

Post of the month. Definitely.

I think the prospect of trading Artest for Peja should be a definate no-brainer for the Kings. Just like nbrans already mentioned, the worse thing that could happen to the Kings is letting Peja walk for nothing. The second is signing him to the max and getting his current sytle of play. Both are horrible scenarios.

Since Artest only has 3 yrs left on his deal, what's the risk? The guy has huge upside, much bigger than Peja. Ron is a top 5 if not the best defender in the league and unlike Ben Wallace can score 20 points a game. Imagine the change in toughness with Artest and Bonzi on the floor together.

Finally, I understand the fear of Artest's unpredictable attitude, but once again it's only for 3 years, while we don't know if we'll be able to get anything for Peja. Don't forget that Bonzi was a clubhouse cancer that no one wanted until Adelman was able to so far successfully integrate Bonzi. Adelman seems to be pretty good at handling these kind of problematic players and the Kings offensive freedom should satisfy Artest's desire to be able to shoot more and become more a #1 option (since none of the current Kings want to forcefully take that role).
