Here's the deal. First, he was accused of not being aggressive enough, passing up wide open shots. Now, he's being accused of being too aggressive. If the shots go in, no one complains, if they don't, lets throw him in the garbage can. The game before, he came out firing, and they were going in. The last game, it didn't happen. Did he take a couple with 15 plus seconds left on the clock? Yes! Is he the only one that does that? Nope!. Can we lighten up a little, or are there some of you unhappy unless your criticizing someone in some fashion.
Jimmer is going through an adjustment right now. The most common trait, is that everything is moving faster than they're accustomed to. As a result, they start to rush everything they do, including their shot. Eventually, everything starts to slow down for them, and Wa La, suddenly they become better players. In the last game, just about every shot he took was an open shot. He just missed them folks! Its that simple. I watched Timmy Hardaway go 1 for 22 one night. Unbeliveably, he still went on to a very nice career.

Do you know the difference between vertical thinking and horizontal thinking? Thinking vertically you keeping Jimmer and hope he gets better over time. Thinking horizontally you dump Jimmer and get one of the numerous players available who are already much better and have more natural athletic ability. You can keep beating your head against a rock and hope someday the rock breaks, or you can just walk around the rock keep on going.

Gee, and all this time I thought Vertical thinking was when I was standing, and horizontal thinking was when I was layinig down. Something I might suggest for you by the way. Lay down and dream of sheep jumping vertically over a horizontal fence. That way, you'll be doing both at the same time. Sort of like walking and chewing gum at the same time.
