Anybody Watching RockINXS ???

I finally figured out what really truly irks me about JD. He acts as though he's doing everyone a favor by being there IMHO... And I hate how he constantly jumps up and down. It's more than a little annoying. And the way he breathes... and takes up valuable space on the stage...

Okay, I know I'm ranting. As complimentary as INXS have been about JD, they have never really said he'd fit in with "our band INXS."

;)

Of those left, I have to regretfully agree it was Jordis' time to go. And now it's gonna get really tough.

Regardless of the reports that INXS won't have a female lead, I think Sweet Suzie is still right there. Mig is there, but was I the only one who noticed how scared he looked last night? I can understand it, but if that nervousness translates into any of his singing, it might be just the little thing that takes him out.

At this point, it's gonna be all about stepping up to the occasion. I have no doubts Marty can do it; he's shown he's willing to meet INXS half way, honoring their style and still able to retain his own. I just do not think JD is capable of doing that. He has shown time and time again that he thinks his concepts are more important than the band's. It's good for a solo artist but not exactly right for a front man.

Regardless of who ends up getting the deal, I would love to see INXS record "Trees" with Marty doing the lead. I love that song!

I didn't particularly like JD, but I don't know, after tonight's episode, for some reason, I think it's looking good for him. I missed last week's show, so this is the first time I heard his original and I like it.

I've been rooting for Mig since I started watching the show, but I think he's in a weak position right now.

suzie kicked interstate love song's ***. that's one of my favorite songs from the 90's, and i was very pleased to see her rock it hard.

not to mention dave nailed the guitar line like it was nobody's business.

\m/

Well, Suzie fought the good fight. I think she'll find a gig before long... I wouldn't be surprised to find Dave Navarro talking to his agent about her.

I have to admit that JD has really kicked it up into high gear. I think Mig is going to be the next to go; his "broadway" background is, I think, going to be his downfall since the guys in INXS have mentioned it more than once.

Marty is good, but it looks more and more like JD Fortune is going to be the new lead singer for INXS. He's got the name for it...

The big problem that I have with JD is that he has zero chemistry with the crowd. He tries hard, but it just comes across as forced and unnatural. Mig, Marty, and of course Suzie all had an excellent rapport and relationship with the crowd. JD just has that wall up. I think Mig is the best showman, but his excellent singing skills just don't fit with upbeat rock and roll. He is more of a ballad or soft rock singer.

^^I'm so glad you said that. I thought it was just my perception that JD has zero chemistry, no matter how hard he tries to pretend it's there. To me, he's shallow and fake... and even his new attitude of team play with the other remaining singers seems calculated. His song "Pretty Vegas" has really given him a boost. Is it enough?

Marty is clearly the most versatile. If INXS pick him, I think they'll find themselves appealling to an even wider audience than before.

One thing I know for sure is that I'm going to be glued to the TV for the finale.

I've really enjoyed this show. The sad thing is I don't see a sequel...

My mother is the one who got me addicted to this show (yeah, Mom is an INXS fan, she's a 'cool mom', heh). She thinks JD is the best thing ever. Glad I am not the only one too who sees his flaws.

<BIG SIGH> .... from reading the posts, Suzie's gone ????

Well, I rooted for her since the beginning. I'll read-up on what happened at the website.

Good luck to the remaining performers

Suzie, JD and Mig were in the bottom three.

Basically, INXS said "You've been in the bottom three a lot of times. We think you're a fantastic singer and you have a LOT of talent but we're in the final stages now and regretfully we just don't think you're right for our band INXS."

It was clear that it was a painful decision for them, but I have to agree. They're looking at mass appeal as much as talent and by being in the bottom three so many times, it was clear that - for whatever reason - Suzie didn't have the appeal some of the others have. Personally, I think a lot of it might have been gender bias on the voting public. As RoyalDiva mentioned she had heard before, there is a certain segment of INXS fans who would NOT accept a female lead singer.

Call me crazy, but I was cheering for JD after last week's episode. So I'm happy that things turned out the way they did. I had been rooting for MiG - and I guess partly because I'm Filipino - but it was obvious he wasn't even close to where Marty and JD were in terms of winning. Marty is great and I love his song "Trees" - and it's awesome that he might be opening for INXS's world tour, but I really thought JD deserved it.

I'm definitely gonna get the new CD when it comes out. :)

Damn. I should have known better than to read a post right in the middle of the show.

Oh well...

:(

Maybe there's an old Jeopardy rerun I could watch for the rest of the hour.

Oh, good. Something else to watch...

abc is having a rematch on Dancing with the Stars. I'm in time for the last 20 minutes, so maybe this time the RIGHT couple will win.

^^ Oops sorry - I honestly hadn't realized the show wasn't over yet at your end when I posted that. Stupid me. So, so, sorry! :( I really didn't mean to spoil it for anyone. Dang my stupid mouth. :(

That's okay... I shouldn't have checked the thread. I even thought about "Maybe it's a spoiler..."

It is just TV. ;)

--------------------------------------------------

I think the only reason INXS picked JD was because of his song, "Pretty Vegas." I saw them on the Ellen Degeneres Show and they did that song. JD was off-key part of the time, and he was more like a punk rocker than anything else.

I won't be buying their new CD. It's actually painful to watch them with JD in the front...

:(
