I don't think they'll end up with a female lead...

If I were more conifident about where INXS is going with all this ...

I'd bet you a PLATE OF RIBS they go with a female .... you betcha !!!!

GO SUZIE GO - GO SUZIE GO - GO SUZIE GO !!!

Suzie? Whoa... While I think she's good, I have serious doubts about her ability to front a group. Of the females left, I think she's the least likely to remain around much longer.

BTW? About downloading the songs? It costs 99 cents...

:p Point taken.

I don't think INXS has that same viewpoint, however. I think they'll actually want the best possible person - regardless of gender - because it's all about the $$$ at the end of the day. Besides that, have you seen the type of groupies that go to INXS concerts? I don't think eye candy is exactly a problem for them.

guy or girl...i dont think it really matters at all to INXS, at this point, even from a $$$ standpoint. they have triggered enough genuine interest with this show that no matter who wins, people are going to be curious about the finished product. the diehard INXS fans may be pissed off in the end, but this show isnt about appealing to the core fanbase of INXS. if it was, then it wouldnt be a reality show. they arent asking for INXS fan votes at the end of each performance episode. they're asking for Rockstar: INXS fan votes at the end of each performance episode.

if this is ultimately all about money, then INXS is going to choose the person who they think is going to sell the most records and the most tour dates. as a band, you never have to worry about your core fanbase. they exist as your support; your rock on which to stand. they are there, travelling cross-country to see you. this show is about pulling the most casual-fan and non-fan support as possible. when the show gets down to the top 5 or so, its not about talent anymore. they're all talented. at that point, its about popularity. in other words, the last person standing is going to be the one with the msot votes, both because the fans put them there and because INXS has the final say, and wouldnt marginalize or alienate the viewers of the show by going against their wishes. those are the people that will go out and buy the new record, and pay the (most likely obscene amounts of) money to see their live show. this is of course just my opinion, and even though it sounds like i'm presenting it as fact, i dont really know for sure. but, as a student and lover of music, and a consumer in the music industry, i think it could go either male or female, in the end. i still maintain that it will be mig, marty, and jordis in the top 3. suzie has no chance, because she's just too timid. JD's a grade-A *******...and the band's not gonna wanna take a chance on someone who's so forceful and manipulative. deanna's got a lovely and strong voice, and i've been pulling for her, but she's lacking in range and her pitching is real sketchy. as for ty, he's done a great job asserting real passion into his performances of late, but i still think he's too theatrical and too much of a primadonna (already) to become INXS's frontman. plus, he'd never heard of everlong before he sang it. :p

i, personally, think its gonna be mig. he's got a great voice, and good stage presence. he's kinda like steven tyler-lite on stage. he's not too flashy, and not too boring. he's non-confrontational, but also exudes a humble brand of confidence. the fans love him. INXS loves him. he's rarely off in his performances...smells like a winner to me.

Well, Suzie pulled out all the stops with her version of "Start Me Up." AND she did a great job of interacting with the band AND the crowd. Without a doubt, her very best performance yet.

Mig's got a leg up, being an aussie and all . . .

Jordis is probably gone after tonight. She will at least be in the bottom three after that awful performance of "Dream On".

I was a little disappointed with Marty tonight, and I think INXS was, too...Jordis didn't do very well, and I just do not like JD whatsoever.

It's looking more and more to me like Mig is going to be the ultimate rocker to beat. Ty isn't quite right for the band, IMHO, and I don't think Deanna is either. So, that leaves Suzie - who keeps on getting better and better.

Sorry I dont watch crap TV!

This thread was not started for criticism or insulting comments about the show. It is meant for those who do watch the show, like it, and want to discuss it.

Pretty interesting. More and more I'm beginning to think it's going to boil down to Mig and Suzie.

There's a dynamic developing between Suzie and the backup band that could be indicative of how she'll interact with INXS. If so, she's gonna do great.

Hummmmmmmm ................. yes, it is interesting. I didn't pick-up on that, of course I'm clueless to alot of OBVIOUS displays of attraction.

Looks like another interesting episode... and I'm thinking more and more Folsom Al just might be right.

Suzie just keeps getting stronger and stronger.

Okay, I'm following myself because I had to comment about JD - he stinks!!! First, he doesn't prepare for the demo workshop and then he absolutely murders "Suspicious Minds." Off-key, off-tempo and an insult to Elvis' memory. If America and/or INXS lets him stick around even one more time, it will be a travesty.

Blech!!!!

Yeah Suzie is getting stronger and she was great with both the demo and Bohemian Rhapsody. I am still rooting for Mig, though.

Missed her last night ... I was watching the Zito and the A's in ONE HECKUVA EXTRA INNING GAME till after 10:00pm ....

Bohemian Rhapsody .... I'm envisioning the "guys in the car" scene from Wayne's World

Good for Suzie .... I may be able to catch her performance over at:

Thanx for the updates !!!

I was listening to a local radio show, and one of the hosts said that recently he was speaking to someone who works at INXS's record label. The person said that no way would INXS ever go with a female lead singer, despite what was stated on the show. Apparently that's just to make them look good or something.

Radio show hosts - think of Grant Napear and Mike Lamb - aren't always the fountain of information they like to believe themselves to be...

;)

Suzie got the encore and once again had INXS standing and cheering over her Bohemian Rhapsody performance. It was totally and completely awesome.

I'm in shock that Ty left before JD. While I didn't think Ty would end up winning it, I definitely believe he had earned the right to stay longer than JD.

At this point, it looks very much as though it will boil down to Marty, Mig or Suzie. Marty and Suzie seem to have the inside track right now.

Have I mentioned how JD makes my skin crawl? I think seeing the little temper tantrum he threw at the mansion and how he tried to make it much more drama than it needed to be is not going to stand him in good stead. INXS wants someone who will work WITH them, not be a prima dona every time something doesn't go his way.

When he sang the INXS song tonight, he was horrible. When they asked him how it felt, his phony catch in his voice was so obvious you could see a couple of people struggling to keep from rolling their eyes.

Good point, VF21, but I used to know this particular radio show host personally, so I do trust and believe what he says. ;)

Susie absolutely rocked!! Even if she doesn't make it, she has gotten so much exposure and attention from this show that she will surely have a great career somewhere. But the Mohawk guy (sorry, haven't been watching the show long enough to know everyone's name)-what was with him? Was he trying to use his race as the reason to not be picked?? He sure did seem to be implying that! And Tim Farriss-he does seem genuinely sad to have to give people the boot. Last week it looked like he was tearing up when he made the announcement, and similar this week as well. Aahhhhh...

I think Mig has it in the bag, though. Although this wasn't his greatest week, he has really done well in the past.

The guy's name is Ty - and I think he was speaking from his heart. I don't think he has anything but the utmost respect for INXS; he was just frustrated. He's a great guy IMHO, and I cannot blame him for being a bit aggravated that he's gone and someone like JD is still there (although Ty has too much class to say something like that specifically).

I'm still not convinced in any way that INXS will dismiss out of hand the two remaining women because they're women. Talent is talent...and the chemistry Suzie is developing is palpable. I don't think Jordis will be around too much longer and I can only hope JD will do something else that makes it painfully obvious he is simply NOT right for the band.

Marty, Suzie, Mig, JD and Jordis ...

Barring truly abysmal performances, I'm thinking Jordis and JD will be the next to go. Should be interesting.

:D

Yeah, I agree - I think Jordis and JD are next. I think Jordis started out strong, but she's kind of fading away right now. For me, at least.

I don't know why JD is still around. I absolutely cannot stand him...

Suzie came out and gave another outstanding performance.

Jeez, I don't think I could possibly disagree more with you guys on this one!

I haven't been watching this show before this week (caught like 5 minutes of one previous episode), so there may be good or bad karma leftover from previous episodes for some of these guys/gals that I'm missing...

but from this week I despised Suzie's performance. I hated it. On the other hand, although the JD guy had an irritating presence, he also seemed to be the most talented singer. Mr Osmond (mig) seems to have a decent stage presence, but I thought his two songs were pretty weak. David Spade (I don't know the blong guy's name) was decent. I thought Jordis had a great voice, I didn't understand her getting dissed the way she did.

so if I had to rank them best to worst (by this week's performances, with no previous preconceptions)

best
JD
Jordis
Blondie
Mig
worst (by far) suzie

Suzie is THE REBOUND QUEEN ....

She'll bounce back.

I didn't see/hear her performance last night .... but, everybody is entitled to an OFF NIGHT every once-in-a-while

mcsluggo - You admit you've only seen one show, so I think you're really at a disadvantage. JD finally didn't stink up the stage; the first time in about four weeks. He has disregarded very strong advice by INXS in the past and I think he feels he knows better than they do what they need as a lead singer - and I think it will turn around and shoot him in the posterior very soon.

Jordis sucked, plain and simple. Her usual powerful voice was nothing like what it usually is.

Mig is always good.

Marty was stellar; and he's come a long way AND listens to the advice given to him by Dave and INXS.

Suzie wasn't as good this week as in the past few weeks, but she is still the person to beat IMHO. Her performance of Bohemian Rhapsody last week was so above anything else that's been done (with the possible exception of Marty's song, "Trees," which I loved) that she set the bar for everyone else to meet.

The show isn't about one week. It's about overall performances and the whole body of work the singer has performed. Had you seen JD and his rendition of "Suspicious Minds" you would better understand the general ill feeling most of us get with the mere mention of his name.

Are you familiar with the band INXS? JD simply would not fit. Marty and Mig are the most likely, IMHO... and IF they decide to go with a female, I think it's clear it will be Sweet Suzie McNeal.

i'm so sad to see jordis go. she has such a pretty voice. the song she had to sing did not lend itself to stretching her vocal chords the way they could have to rock the socks off of inxs. it didnt seem fair.

it is also very hard to deny the talent of JD, despite his obvious character flaws. he also [seems] very passionate about inxs and their music, which is a positive edge. sucks, really...cuz i dont like the guy.

my vote goes to marty. he rocked everlong acoustically. i almost take his acoustic version over the FF acoustic version....almost.
