@sam_amick: I've been told 4 years, approx $48 million on Evans' offer. @daldridgetnt has it at $44 million. Either way, doubt Kings would match either.
Just using your post to make a general comment. If we are all going to have apoplexy over one unsigned offer from a team that might want him at SF, this is going to be a long few weeks for some of you. Tyreke has not signed anything. He has a gaggle of teams to talk with and I suspect he will get burned out on that very quickly. He'll probably only chat with the ones that truly interest him. THIS interview I think was the first shot across the bow by Arn Tellem as he scheduled the time so that not even the Kings could sit down with Tyreke. It was scheduled as part of the negotiating process and perhaps no more. It's hard to know about the latter.
BTW, I think it would be a big mistake for the Kings to just simply sit back and let other teams set the signing price. Respect and all that, ya know? They have to stick their nose in quickly and whether they make a solid offer or not, they need to let Tyreke know the level of their interest and as best as I can understand, they value Tyreke quite a bit and might get AGGRESSIVE in the dealings. AGGRESSIVENESS is what Vivek promised. I translate the word AGGRESSIVE as meaning they will pay. That differs from Petrie's passive approach.
No matter what the other teams say, as opposed to what Tyreke's signs, Tyreke can make an agreement with the Kings at anytime at any amount as long as he signs the Kings offer July 10 and doesn't sign any offer sheet at a larger amount. Tellem is a paid mercenary and highly skilled but in the end, he needs to do what Tyreke wants and we have to hope that the abuse that has been piled on Reke by the odd use of him the last two years doesn't taint his feelings about the new ownership, coach, and GM. Tyreke has said positive things about the Kings and so has one of his brothers. He has a new home in the area. He works out in the practice facility. He may be ready to settle down here for a long time as long as we don't insult him. The likelihood of Vivek or PDA insulting Tyreke seems incredibly remote.
