Three cheers to the fans showing class.
Three jeers to the Maloofs not doing so. As usual.

Reggie did go over and greet Rick warmly. When Reggie first came out of the tunnel he headed toward the Rockets bench, and Rick wasn't out there. As soon as Rick came out Reggie went over and had a warm conversation with him.
The fan ovation was pretty good but cut short as they dimmed the lights and went to player introductions.
Reggie showed class.
Maloofs not so much. They were a noshow on the sideline. Brats.
"It was the first time I went against my old coaching staff, I felt like I had been traded,'' Martin said. "I told them (Adelman and former Kings assistants Elston Turner and T.R. Dunn) I appreciated the great job they did here and that they were remembered. He got a standing ovation for a couple of minutes and it could have went five.''
It takes teams a while to get "Adelman" type of players IMO. When he started here it took us like 3 years to get him the PG he wanted, the SG he wanted, and for Peja to become the player Rick wanted him to become. Right now the only guys I see having a future on that team for sure are Mac and Yao. They don't have the score 1st PG with a nice J Adelman's teams need(Bibby/Porter). Alston's decent but he's more of a passer and his mid range J isn't great(more of a 3 point shooter). Bonzi and Battier seem like they could but they play the same position 2/3 and so does TMac so I don't really see why they'd keep both, especially when they need a real PF. Scola's a liability next to Yao and Hayes does nothing on offense. It'll take them a while to get Adelman's type of players. Right now I think it'd be best for them if they put a line up of Alston/TMac/Battier/Bonzi/Yao. Bonzi and Hayes are the same size and rebound well, but with Bonzi out there they gain a lot more ability to score.
It would have gone on longer, I'm sure, except as Francisco d' Anconia said, they cut it short going to player intros, instead of letting it end naturally.Kings fans are as classy as You will ever find anywhere
Rick deserved every single moment
Maybe the Rockets will also understand what they have
For one last time, thank you Rick Adelman. You coached a team that took my breath away and for that I will be eternally grateful!
How sad is it that Rick Adelman didn’t get the appreciation he deserves from the Maloofs.
I don't care what went down behind closed doors. I don't care if the Maloofs hate him for some reason. It does not negate the fact that Adelman coached the Kings through the best years of the Sacramento era, by far. He created a team that put the franchise on the map. However, what do we really know what went down. Perhaps, there is a very good reason the Maloofs became very unhappy with Rick and no longer want to associate with him, but are taking the high road and not airing dirty laundry in public.
I, for one, am not going to take sides on the Adelman - Maloof spat (if that's even the right term). The Maloofs clearly look bad in this situation. However, what do we really know what went down. Perhaps, there is a very good reason the Maloofs became very unhappy with Rick and no longer want to associate with him, but are taking the high road and not airing dirty laundry in public. Perhaps it is all on the Maloofs and they are being jerks. I say "perhaps" because we have no way of knowing. It would be a big mistake to take what we read and hear in the media as the whole story and draw conclusions from it.
