Devin Carter finally saw the court for the Sacramento Kings. He missed all three of his shots, but pulled down 5 rebounds in 11 minutes and also racked up 2 assists.

A good beginning.
Devin was a bit nervous on offense but felt comfortable with defense. Forced a couple of turnovers from the Grizz immediately. Solid fundamentals on defense and have to love that Josh Hart level rebounding.

"Yeah, we really didn't miss our best defender on a night we allowed 133 points, 45% from 3 and a rookie shoot 8-9 from 3 on mostly wide open shots."

Do people really think we can't see through that sort of bias and agenda? It's weird.
The guy who took his spot in starting lineup was Ellis. Can't have your cake and eat it too. He makes good points about Murray and the inconsistent shooting. We don't get 46 points 1st quarter I guarantee you that.

But Murray is set in stone

Yeah, the only problem is Keon and Devin as a POA defenders is no doubt going to be better than Keegan in this style of defense. Hopefully when Keegan gets back he gets plenty of time with both and they let Keegan roam a little. Maybe that will help him get his offense back on track since he won't have to run all night on both ends.

Between Keegan’s back last season and ankle this season, I’m not assuming anything about him going forward. Dude just needs to get healthy and I’m sure we’ll see him be a lot more decisive and able to actually plant those feet for his shot.

Good news is the top 8 is very clear. Starters+Keon/Carter/Lyles. I think there's a good amount of versatility with that grouping too. Excited to see them finally start to build chemistry and learn what their rotations will look like.

Huerter and Len need to be changed. Either get a true back-up C (Collins? Richards?) or a back-up wing and give the spot to Lyles full time.

Dont forget about len. Listen I've been hating on him for a while but this man has been coming thru with clutch defensive plays. He gets 10 min too

If hasn’t been said already, big props to Lyles. We have been getting Year one Beam Team Lyles lately. I wonder if this changes the calculus on any potential trade? It’s not just the made threes, he is really playing hard. Might have to hold on to him and just move Kev for someone with size or a bit more offense at the back up center position. Say Kelly O. To his credit, Len made a few winning plays tonight

A big wing that can play defense and shoot or Timelord with injuries off would be perfect

What do you mean, why?

That is the nature of the business. "Next man up". There's a winner in the end and a bunch of losers. The winners are those with the right set of guys who collectively make the correct amount of pivots enough amount of time throughout a season. I'd do that myself 10 out of 10 times if the alternative is restructuring my team.
Look, I’m happy the Kings are doing better. Since the change. Clearly it was needed. No one from the front office has met with the media or offer any other information. They haven’t even come up with some vague reason for Browns dismissal. Very unprofessional and Kangzlike. Just bad form IMHO

Yeah, I think more so what I'm getting at is does Doug have the "stones" to go sit Monk or DDR at the end of the game for a Keon or Carter because it's better for the team that game? Do those vets have enough trust in him to take that ego-hit, if it means more wins?
I think he does, if he truly believes it's the winning move. He came right out with the balls to start Keon Ellis in a 3 guard lineup, with DeRozan at the 4....and also close with Keon.

I'd have bet a healthy chunk of change that Brown wouldn't have done that, with or without Murray

Well with Keegan out, Brown decided it was better to fool around with guys like McBuckets for no reason lol. When the answer was just so clearly Keon all along to fill in there.

There will be games where we need Fox/Monk/DDR to close, especially if Fox is off. But I think I really want to see if Christie can make the Keon+Keegan defensive close unit with 3 hubs (Fox/Domas and Monk or DDR) if that's what the situation needs. And not just default to the vets because they're vets.
