Kings win! Kings win@! Light the beam baby! Looks like the Kings are playing with a purpose again. Kudos to Doug for rallying the team. They’re playing with passion again. Still wish we knew why Coach Brown was fired though…
What do you mean, why?

That is the nature of the business. "Next man up". There's a winner in the end and a bunch of losers. The winners are those with the right set of guys who collectively make the correct amount of pivots enough amount of time throughout a season. I'd do that myself 10 out of 10 times if the alternative is restructuring my team.

You definitely saw the upside case for Fox/Monk/DDR to close together. All 3 guys took turns in the clutch and we needed all 3 guys to put this one away. Fox didn't have it tonight, so had to turn to Monk and DDR to provide the scoring.

I think where Christie is really going to have show his coaching chops is when one of those guys are off and we'd be better suited to close with Keegan and Keon. Or if Fox is going crazy, get the 2 elite defenders on the floor. If he can make that move, we'll know we're on to something with him.

Crucially, the 4th quarter trapping might be a new thing for future opponents to prepare.

You can point to like 10 different things potentially, but I think it comes down to that the team was severely underperforming it's expectation. And in the NBA, the quickest big change you can make is getting a new coach at the front of the bench.

Dougs got options, I still think defense at the end of games is going to be what wins out should this team get into any playoffs scenario. In his first game I think Carter definitely showed that elite verticality and mobility. Most guys are one or the other, having both of those things is pretty rare. Adding in that strength and physicality is quite unique. Definitely a lot of upside with that even as a role player if that's his current task. We didn't really get to see he and Keon yet but at some point that might be a combo you can't take off the floor late in games.

Yeah, I think more so what I'm getting at is does Doug have the "stones" to go sit Monk or DDR at the end of the game for a Keon or Carter because it's better for the team that game? Do those vets have enough trust in him to take that ego-hit, if it means more wins?

we absolutely missed him though. JJJ just sorta ran through everyone we tried on him whereas Keegan would’ve probably been on him all game.
It's funny watch the PF spot be more of an issue than guard. I think Bulls fans knew what they were talking about when they said DeRozan at PF wasn't so bad. Dudes a matchup nightmare in that spot. He has to start getting routine minutes there in games. The defense was meh, but when a big is forced onto him they've been creamed.

"Yeah, we really didn't miss our best defender on a night we allowed 133 points, 45% from 3 and a rookie shoot 8-9 from 3 on mostly wide open shots."

Do people really think we can't see through that sort of bias and agenda? It's weird.
