I'm a little irritated that some folks I grew up with in Sacramento are now Warriors fans (or maybe they always were, stakes weren't exactly high through 1992 when I graduated high school). But the one thing I will say in all of this is entering the season a 3 seed and an "expectation" of seeing the second round were the furthest thing from my mind. I was considered irrational by many for saying we should hope for a 5 or 6.
All that said, there'd be a lot less shame involved if we fail to advance to the defending champs than if we lost to an LA team or somehow got jobbed by the new-look Suns. I don't think it's the best matchup for us, but at the same time they suck on the road and are largely a jump shooting team which plays to our strengths, outside of opposing teams shooting crazy in G1C. Also sucks that they are so close and they will be buying up our tickets. But on our side, they got A+++ level help from the refs in the 2 wins over us that counted, and even in Game 1 where they blew us out, we came back to make it closer than it had any business being in the 2nd half. Brown is going to have a huge insider's edge on Warriors personnel and scheming, and the Warriors haven't really seen the "good" Kings head to head yet. They are also going to come in with huge pressure because they got the matchup that "everybody wanted".
If I was choosing matchups the team I wanted to beat was the Mavericks but uh, yeah umm. Enjoy whatever you have Cubes.
