Domas vs Green in the 4th quarters is going to be insane I can't wait. I wonder how Domas will deal with all of Green's provocations.
I expect certain players on our team to be in foul trouble on questionable calls leading to having to be more sheepish on physical contact allowing Warriors players more freedom while we see Draymond green complain to the refs an entire game and their team set 2-3 illegal screens a possession, there will be nothing easy this series.

Did you see Poole get those free throws last game for doing absolutely nothing besides fall down and flop? Rediculous... no one said it would be easy but I'd rather have it no other way as a return to the playoffs.

I'm a little irritated that some folks I grew up with in Sacramento are now Warriors fans (or maybe they always were, stakes weren't exactly high through 1992 when I graduated high school). But the one thing I will say in all of this is entering the season a 3 seed and an "expectation" of seeing the second round were the furthest thing from my mind. I was considered irrational by many for saying we should hope for a 5 or 6.

All that said, there'd be a lot less shame involved if we fail to advance to the defending champs than if we lost to an LA team or somehow got jobbed by the new-look Suns. I don't think it's the best matchup for us, but at the same time they suck on the road and are largely a jump shooting team which plays to our strengths, outside of opposing teams shooting crazy in G1C. Also sucks that they are so close and they will be buying up our tickets. But on our side, they got A+++ level help from the refs in the 2 wins over us that counted, and even in Game 1 where they blew us out, we came back to make it closer than it had any business being in the 2nd half. Brown is going to have a huge insider's edge on Warriors personnel and scheming, and the Warriors haven't really seen the "good" Kings head to head yet. They are also going to come in with huge pressure because they got the matchup that "everybody wanted".

If I was choosing matchups the team I wanted to beat was the Mavericks but uh, yeah umm. Enjoy whatever you have Cubes.

Have you actually watched a Warriors game this season or is this the 17+ years of trauma talking?

The Kings are a terrible matchup for the Warriors, who defend iso ball much better than they do ball movement offenses. Wiggins is probably not anywhere close to being in basketball shape after missing half a season. Steph and Klay are Steph and Klay on offense, yes, but defensively they’re 2023 Steph and Klay (that is to say very bad) and GPII and DDV can only play so many minutes for the Warriors to still stay functional on offense. I guess the idea would be that Draymond can guard Sabonis but Domas still averaged something like 20/17/6 against the Warriors in their matchups this season despite being in total foul trouble for the first two matchups.
I get it. It’s the Warriors and they still have their best player. But the Kings aren’t just cannonfodder.
My concern is that Ws have been there and done that, while most of our guys haven't.

Yes, the Ws have issues this year and they are a terrible road team. But, they are also the defending champs. They know what it takes to get there; stay in the game long enough, and when your young opponent is getting nervous and feeling the pressure, turn up the heat.

I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be the template for a lot of the games; we play well for 40-42 minutes, only to see the pressure get to us. I think leadership by Barnes, and Brown from the bench will be quite critical. Another X-factor might be Delly in the locker room. Not sure if he will even be in the playoff roster though.

obviously Domas getting a fair shake from the officials worthy of an All-NBA caliber player is going to play a huge role in how this series plays out.

For all the sheepishness about HCA, we got the one team it may matter most against if the refs are fair or slightly bias the home team in each game.

I think the NBA typically does an every other day schedule. Game 2 should be on Monday I believe
It's mostly an every other day schedule: Somehow the TV contracts are set up in a way that ensures that TNT gets at least two games a night, as long as there are at least two games to play, five nights a week (excluding Fridays and Saturdays, which "belong" to ESPN/ABC), until the conference finals. This means that some series end up getting staggered so that there are occasionally 3-4 days between games.

And if we lose to the defending champs it will be a definite learning opportunity whereas if we lost to any other team that flames out in Rd 2 it will be LOLKANGZ enjoy sucking next season. But also if we win we continue to shock the world. This is the best matchup in terms of building our future that we can hope for.

The Kings need to bar anybody trying to buy playoff tickets with a Zip code outside of Sacramento from purchasing a ticket. And Kings season ticket holders need to stand proud and don’t sell your tickets!
Padres did it to the LA fans during their playoff series last year. Dodgers fans were bent about it.

Can they block resale? I think the hardest part is that there are unfortunately a lot of Dubs fans that live in Sacramento.

a lot of younger people that grew up in Sac are Warriors fans. People in their 20’s.

People that weren’t yet at the age of reason when the Kings were last good grew up to the Warriors being a winner…

after all, the other favorites in Sacramento are Bay Area teams(Niners, Giants, formerly Raiders) so it’s not a stretch with all the circumstances surrounding the last 17 years, atleast half of that being sure the Kings were leaving Sacramento, that many turned to the Warriors.

Most sports fans are casual at heart. Most of them will be Kings fans if the next decade is more a Kings decade than a Warriors decade.

I'm almost 50. I am talking about people that grew up when the Kings moved here and lived through the golden era rooting for the Dubs.

I don't care about what anyone in their 20s is doing. also not talking about casuals, definite "sports fans"

I don’t know too many long time Kings fans that switched. Except maybe one or two that moved to the Bay Area around the time the Warriors started getting really good…

but I consider turncoats to be casual fans.

if we don’t take the bait and make this some sort of 3 point shooting contest, we can definitely beat them. We can destroy them in the paint but i hope we counter Fox getting double teamed a lot better than we have, and come up with something other than that weird zone where everyone gets an open 3.
There is no one on the planet better equipped to devise a defensive strategy against Golden State than Mike Brown. And that includes game-to-game adjustments or changes.

Fair enough. Where are they getting playoff ticket money from, though? That's a helluva lot of allowance to have to save up!
Well, it won’t be them buying up the tickets. Plenty of actual Bay Area people/warriors fans with a lot of money have moved to Sacramento area the last 10 years.

These "people" (if you can even call them that), need to be mocked, ridiculed, shunned, and humiliated out of existence if they bother to show up to any of these playoff games.

I'm sorry I can't do it myself personally and thus bolster my fan cred. +1000 Sauce Points if you mock/ridicule any of these unfortunate souls.

Alright, Dubs! Bring it on! If anyone has the unique ability to surprise the defending champions, it would be this team! They only have one season's worth of tapes on us playing a new style, and our head coach being on their side of the bench last season should definitely give us many inside looks on their shortcomings and disadvantages we could exploit. Remember when he told Lyles his old Dubs' scouting report calling him out on his hesitant to shoot? That completely changed his aggressiveness throughout the season and created the current version of Trey Lyles who's one of the key members on the bench.

I want to see our team come out ready to exploit any of their weaknesses and come out hungry like the underdogs that we are against none better than the defending champs.

You can't write a better Cinderella story if you try.

I stand to disagree. Or at least, cross reference with the Kings fans forum for out of area people. I'm in L.A. and am still trying to get tickets without getting hoodwinked by scalpers.

For all the hemming and hawing about the West, 9 teams finished above .500 and several of the teams finished among the hottest in the league. We are moving towards a future filled with a bunch of slightly above .500 teams due to how stacked the league is with talent. It’s great
