Looking forward to FA and the trades this organization is going to do. This is just Phase 1. It isn't all going to happen in the draft.

You thought this roster needed work before the draft? PDA's job got harder.

And this isn't a direct critique on the picks tonight, but we did nothing to balance out this roster or fix the issues we had going into tonight. Everything just got way more complicated.

Tony Mitchell was projected in the top 10 before the season started. Obviously he had a bad season, but he had first round talent.

Remember Whiteside was brought in to work out by us and he was even projected in the top 10 up until draft day.

Not to mention, it appears we couldn't move any of our guards today, as no one wants them or if they did, they wouldn't give us much of anything. Well, it just got harder to clear our backcourt. Why? Because everyone knows not that we want to move our guards, but that we need to, so now expect pennies on the dollar type offers.

Other teams aren't in the business of helping us. And part of business 101 is when you have a surplus, the value goes down. At the least this pick lowers the value of guards we need to move.

Wow another guard? I'm taking my deposit back. We are obviously not focused on defense because of this draft. I mean, defense is alllll about the players, nothing to do with the coaching system at all. Ugh!...

Guy is at tweener. He doesn't even have the talent Robinson has. and he is shorter. he is Kenny Thomas

McCallum was a highly ranked HS'er in his class, he probably would've gone much higher if he went to a Div 1 prominent school - and he was recruited to do so. He just wanted to play for his dad @Detroit. Might be a surprise pick...down the road.

i wasn't intrigued by a 2nd round big man shot blocker anyway see Justin Williamns and Hasan Whiteside. thats something we need to be a proven player.

As a general rule I agree, but I would have loved to see Withey come to Sacramento. I don't think you could build a better center to put next to Cuz (at least in terms of style and game, not predicting how well he'll develop in the NBA)

And I would make that pick again every time. He didn't work out for whatever reason, but the idea of drafting him was still a good one.

And this last year before the season Shabazz was predicted to be #1. He is probably putting too much value on the predictions.

IT, Jimmer, Douglas, McCallum, MT, 'Reke, McLemore... Something has got to give. And it better not be Tyreke.

McCallum is a freak athlete. If we needed a PG I'd be OK with him in the 2nd. But with Mitchell and Withey there, I just can't fathom it. On the bright side, anyone attending games will be entertained in the warm-ups if McCallum makes the roster. He's unbelievably explosive. Pogo sticks for legs.

Blazers have one last pick in this second round (pick 45). If they take James Southerland, a SAC/POR trade has to be goin' down.

You mean. Better center besides Drummond ;)

80% of 2nd round picks are cut before their rookie regular season. We all know of huge exceptions but 80% (plus none having guaranteed contract unlike all 1st round picks) is daunting reality if your name is one of the 30 called in 2nd round.

That wasn't my point. I don't think he's worthy of a top 10 pick of course, nor do I really care about where players are projected to go -- I was responding to the idea that a player drafted in the second round is automatically trash and not worth worrying about. Well if the guy was at one point projected in the top 10 then he has talent. There are all sorts of possible explanations for why he had a poor season, but when you need defense, and you need front court help, why not take a chance on a guy with huge athleticism and a track record as a defensive presence?

Silver is spooky. I wonder what he looks at to his right after the announcement. Yeah, I'm getting bored. Overloaded with guards and we draft two more. I'm not complaining about McLemore as I don't think we had much of a choice but now we will have to market our unwanted guards at the Dollar Store.

The rumors yesterday are TRUE..

"The Kings are very high in a PG prospect....McCollum"......the reported just misheard it...It should be "a" not "o".... Ray McCallum.... LOL

Actually, DX had the Kings selecting McCallum in the 2nd round, so this didn't come out of nowhere.
