You can look at a bunch of these guys and say, dang he could really help a playoff team (Dennis, Lavine, Monk, Demar) it’s just that the skillsets/size/defense do not mesh together super well.
You are right about Doug, he’s got some work to do as a strategist

I’m all for this. Demar is an amazing talent but I would have a lot more fun watching this team without him.

It feels so good to watch him let it fly and be pretty confident that he has a great chance of making the basket. Imagine if Fox shot like that
It's better, but Doug WILLINGLY had a crunch time lineup with Russ/Eubanks/Saric playing together. Benched the dude who made 5 3's and had 20 points in 20 minutes.
It worked out, because we played UTA, who somehow might be a more dysfunctional franchise than we are with no future with a bunch of young guys while we have no future with a bunch of old guys that are all still decent at basketball. There's a lot of draft capital on that team that kinda just sucks.
Kings get a real test on Sunday with the Lakers coming up, there's got to be a better plan than whatever this was tonight.
W is a W, LIGHT THE BEAM, all that hoopla, but outside of LaVine/Monk looking incredible, I'm not encouraged by pretty much anything we saw tonight. We escaped with a W, because those 2 played incredible offensive games. We lose this if they're anywhere near their median-type performance

To be fair, the only other home opener they won at G1C was during COVID without anyone in the building so I’m not sure that really counts haha

And I'd say it does, but mileage obviously varies.

He could have been more selfish tonight too. I'd like him and Domas to get more actions together, just free him up more space

The way he moves overall, with effort, he should be a capable defender at least.
EDIT: Although, we'll see how the mileage starting to stack up, you don't wanna get to the level with Fox back then having to care for both ends of the floor too much.
