Why is everybody stealing my favorite car. Leave my Jaguars alone:mad::mad:
I'm quite sure I mentioned Jags are my pops' favorite and after the E-Type was selected that I would still pick one.

In fact I think the D-Type is an upgrade :)

I found my photos, will post my write up in a few.

This reminds me quite a bit of my Bimmer. A ridiculously expensive version of mine at least.

From what I gather it only uses a BMW engine and Tranny, so the handling is anybody's guess. But as much as I love BMW's straight 6s those V8's are monsters. I may just have to pick one up, except I've already picked 11 and am having to make some cuts as is.

All right, I'm ready to kickstart the breakneck speed of this draft again.

2009 Pontiac Solstice coupe

Autobot Jazz

And since I know nothing about this car (aside from it being pretty) I'll let the press release speak for itself.

"NEW YORK - Drawing inspiration from classic sports cars, the 2009 Pontiac Solstice coupe was created for drivers who appreciate both dramatic styling and balanced performance. Unveiled at the New York Auto Show as a GXP model, the Solstice coupe builds on the success of the convertible model while offering a greater range of all-season driving opportunities."

Sweet, it also has another added feature, which I'll reveal a little later. Stay tuned.

2002 Acura RSX Type-S

OK, I have to start picking my own cars. This was my favorite car I had ever had. Why? TURBO BABY! I put a Greddy Turbo in it with Hondata KPRO so I could adjust the fuel settings with my laptop in my car. I could also adjust when my VTEC kicked in.

My RSX had approx 350hp to the wheels (over 400hp if it was rated like the people rate new cars in commercials which is only to the flywheel) 0-60 best time was about 4 seconds wih my wheels spinning almost to about 40mph, and a 1/4 time of the low 12s. I miss my RSX :(

The pictures below are my car (or used to be my car).

I am in the process of purchasing a 2005 RSX (newer body style) because I got tired of my Z and sold it :) Has anyone included their own car in the draft? Just curious.

I'm avoiding the temptation to draft my own car since I've got plenty of cars I'll never get my hands on that I'd like to give mention to.

I was extremely close to owning my #1 pick, the '58 Impala. I found one when I lived in LA at a great price, went down with a friend to inspect it, everything checked out but it was in the garage behind a bunch of other cars so I couldn't drive it. The guy told me I could come out the next week and drive it and when I called him back he told me he sold it and tried to push me towards a different '58 so it may have been some bait and switch deal. Really ticked me off though. The next year at Barret Jackson the prices on them were through the roof and since then I haven't even been able to find a non driving example for less than I would have paid for that. Off to cry now.

1961 Triumph TR4

Back when Brits made cars, rather then just sell brand names to American, German, Malesyan or Indian car manufacturers, one of the brands produced by British Leyland was Triumph. I am sure Triumphs too (like Lotus and Jaguar) sucked and spent 11 months out of each year in service, but they had character. Loads of it.

I did pick Mercedes C300, which is current version of the car I used to drive for years (in several sports/sedan/coupe versions). Currently I own a bus pass and a Metra ticket in lieu of a car (moved to the city) and I'd rather die then pick my wife's mini-van. ;)

Just one of the many reasons I thoroughly enjoyed Miami Vice, this was the car Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson) drove in his undercover persona as Sonny Burnett, a "flashy drugrunner and middleman."

Currently I own a bus pass
Me too, though I hang on to my car for reasons unknown (actually, its my obsession with historical car races, and my car is still 17 years away, so I'm stupid).

Its kind of weird to be a car nut who buses or bikes to work. A lot my fellow alt-commuters are extremely anti-car types and I love cars... responsibly :)

Actually, I just "re-habbed" my garage so owning a second, classic vehicle is a possibility, money and time permitting. Green is good, but man does need his car.

pdx - Ah, but everybody picks red. That's why Burnett picked the white one; so everyone would know it was his.

I'm with you on that. If I ever had money to buy a Ferrari (and I seriously doubt that even then would I write such a large check for a vehicle) I'd by a red one then promptly take it to one of those joints that advertise paint jobs to insomniacs (like, who the hell is looking for a paint job at 4am?) and get my Ferrari pained _mauve_ for $199.99.

Everybody would say there's that crazy SOB Bozz in his mauve Ferrari. He's a Kings fan too (in Chicago!). ;)

I like yellow for those that "have to be different".

I need to re-hab my garage to fit my car, its got boxes and my old 1950s refrigerator in it right now. I have this bad feeling that if it goes in it won't ever come out.

I'm of the age when yellow cars were taxis. I do not want anyone thinking my beautiful Testarossa is a freaking cab.

I saw a live comedian the other night that was bustin a hilarious skit about yellow hummer owners. "I can see them on the lot. Black, looks pretty dark. Maroon, nice. Oh look, yellow!" And he jumps around in that manner. Good times.

I don't care about Crockett and Tubbs, you pick a Ferrari - especially a Testarossa - it better be red! Dangit!
:)

The day I own a red car will be the day before I'm springing for a new paint job. Epitmoizes trying too hard. Foo foo midlife crisis showoff wannabe color. ;)

P.S. I do realize that means I have to repaint my stock car, but that's fine because I wouldn't drive anything with all that ridiculous looking advertising crap down the sides anyway.

You realize you're talking about a Ferrari, right? Its kind of hard to be subtle.

I don't like red cars either, but its the whole pre-sponsor racing history angle that appeals to me.

Yo, dude? You picked the pimpmobile. I think you forfeited any claim to snarking about something like colors.

:)

Since everyone is posting thier car I will post one of mine.

1985 Jaguar XJ12 Vanden Plas V12 Series 3 III

I will upload a pic later tomorrow. This car means alot to me. My first and only Jaguar until I can get my hands on a XKRS.

1963 Buick Riviera

It touched 100 km/h in 8 seconds and the maximum speed of 200 km/h. Under the bonnet it had a V8 engine with 360HP. The car it was light and it had the suspensions modified a little.

And yes, this one is red. :p

1963 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso

Chassis number 4891 once owned, driven and raced by Steve McQueen, one of the world’s most important pop icons. Power for the Lusso comes from a detuned version of the Colombo-designed 60-degree V-12 used in both the GT/SWB and the GTO, featuring single overhead cams and a 9:01.1 compression ratio. If used for racing, this engine would carry six--but the Lusso sports only three--36-DCS Weber twin-choke downdraft carburetors. In street trim, the package produces approximately 250 horsepower, with a top speed approaching 150 mph. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. This car is perfect for a cruise through the empty city.

Look at this beautiful interior. I wish I could have found a bigger picture .

And to begin ROUND 12

1907 Stanley Steamer Model K Semi Race

I had to start out this round with some classic style.A 25 horse stanley (30 HP boiler/20 HP engine. The only year they did this combo, later years on the K were straight 30 horse cars. I like this combination of larger boiler with the smaller engine. Makes the car even lighter and very fast, but more importantly gives plenty of steam reserve. The car can go from dead stop 600 Pounds steam in the boiler accelerated to over 70 mph and still had 450 pounds of steam. Pretty scary fast for a car that's 100 years old, wire wheels, no windscreen or seat belts and only rear brakes. if it is good enough for Jay Leno, then I am definitely taking this baby out for a spin!
