Brown isn't a safe pick.
...
Honestly, I'm warming to the idea of swinging for the fences with him. Why not? If Dunn is gone then it's not like a more "NBA-ready" guy like Hield, Poeltl or Valentine is going to put this Kings team over the top.
I agree on both counts - with Brown not being "safe" but warming to the idea. But I think we ought to keep in mind that it's not like we're going to be in a position to choose between Brown and Hield and Murray, or anything remotely like that. Unless something goes really weird, or both Chriss AND Poeltl go top-7, we will have the option of one of those guys at most. At most one guy falls.
I think at this point my feelings are:
If it's Brown, we should take him.
If it's Murray, we should take him.
If it's Hield, we should take him.
If it's Bender, we should take him.
If it's Dunn...naaaah, there's no way it's going to be Dunn.
If nobody falls, and we have a choice between Chriss/Poeltl/Baldwin/pick 'em - well, I'm all for Poeltl, who I think is being vastly underrated, despite him being a bad fit for the team. But at that point I would not be upset about trading down.
