Got to watch most of the game eating dinner at the Family Sports Bar in Elk Grove with my wife and son - very exciting to watch (if not always the best played game) and everyone was cheering during the last couple minutes. Very cool!

Congrats, Monarchs!

Tonight was awesome!!! I was so excited to be there to see the Monarchs win the 2005 WNBA Championship. To see the crowd cheering that loud during the last few minutes of the game was amazing. What a great team they are....I'm so happy for them. Now, I can't wait for the parade tomorrow. I'll be wearing my Haynie-acs shirt that I got tonight from Kristin's mom. Luv her...she's too cute.

I flat out can't stop smiling! Being there was a memory of a lifetime. To make it a perfect night, I was there early and when they tossed out a ball signed by all the Monarchs, I caught it! I think the smile will be on my face for quite a while. And I just cried for happiness for all the Monarchs, but especially for Yo (my hero) and Ticha. And wasn't Rebekkah just fabulous tonight?! And Powell's 3 to get the second half mometum going. And I loved Kara's story about the last inbounds pass and how she'll have the ball on her nightstand for tonight.

Driving home the night is so beautiful and there was lightening over the Sierras. I thought it was like Mother Nature was setting off fireworks just for the Monarchs. Awesome, unforgettable, deserved and couldn't happen to a greater bunch of atheletes...a true team!

Take a look around fans...this is what 7th heaven looks like! :D

We are the champions, my friends.......

There is so little I can say. I do believe that I am in shock.

I met out in lot K with about 25 people and had a bit of champaign to celebrate...and I don't even drink. ;)

I am hoarse, exhausted and exhiliarated.

Yolanda Griffith, my favorite female basketball player of all time has her championship. She also has her finals MVP trophy. And, she also has a group of friends who will share in that championship together forever.

WOOHOO!!!

This was a night for the ages here in Sacramento. My ears are aching, but in a good way! The Monarch fans have earned this for all their loyalty and enthusiasm. Did anybody see Marcos Bretón in the building?

I was there! And I KNEW the Monarchs fans were worthy of this wonderful occasion! Oh, yeah, and about the article where I wrote about how people don't care about the Monarchs and the WNBA? Well...I was just kidding!

Signed,
MARCOS BRETON

Just got home from work in Tracy. Listened to the game on the radio and looked crazy jumping and fist pumping at work.

The Monarchs should definitely get the respect they deserve.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MONARCHS!!!!

I died a thousand deaths before this game was over. What a game!!! Congrats Monarchs!!! Sacramento should be proud of how they supported their Monarchs tonight with a raucous crowd of 15,002. Being able to attend a game like that is an experience of a lifetime. I am happy for Kristen Haynie too, after the crushing disappointment of losing in the NCAA finals she got another chance to play for a championship---and she was on the winning side this time. It was also great to see Yo be able to finally "just enjoy the moment".

Yo Yo Go Go

YO's got all the hardware now: MVP of the year, Defensive Player of the year,
2 Gold Medals, European Championship, and now Finals MVP AND......
A WNBA Championship Ring. Life is good for our Yo, and so life is good for all of us.:) I am thankfull for all the fun the past nine years have been, but most especially this year when we saw so much love in the team!
Hey, do you think they will change the address of Arco Arena from One Sports Parkway to ONE CHAMPIONSHIP Parkway :D

And the next step for Yo (besides another WNBA title ring) is being inducted into the Basketball Hall Of Fame! :)

That is simply a matter of time (after she retires, of course). :D

Joe and Gavin Maloof looked very happy and relieved. Congrats to the Monarchs!!!!
They definetely had their game faces on during the game, though...I glanced down more than a few times to their row courtside during the game, they were pumped, to put it lightly.

Wow, I'm tired from all of this. Almost stayed home and watched the game, but I'm SOOOOO glad I was there for the game!!! This is truly a night to remember, there was something truly special about this team. And yes, defense CAN win Championships!!!! Still in shock, should set in when I wake up.

CONGRATULATIONS MONARCHS!! This is one 1st class team that has earned the right to be called champion!
I was so nervous at certain points in the game. So glad to have been there at ARCO to witness this awesome moment in franchise history. Yo was truly the MVP, but the whole team did their part. I am just overjoyed for them and this win!

Congrats, Monarchs and Royal Court!

Maybe you, fans of Sacramento, just deserved this championship after all these years?

I am so glad that girls finally made it. Made it!!

my goodness, I was stuck in a meeting for the whole second half, but I looked up at the clock at 7:10pm and I see now that that was the minute that all the world was right (at least inside ARCO). :) I will see the tape tomorrow, but I am so happy they made it! After that first half, this team ROCKS! and showed their toughness to pull it out (with a few heart stoppages)! I got chills when someone mentioned they finally heard "We are the Champions" INSIDE Arco. Wonderful and Unbelievable. Wish I was there!

I thought this was appropiate!
======================
I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come through

And we mean to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World

I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before
The whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose

And we mean to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions

Im numb. Ive waited 9 years for this! I went through those horrible years being the worst team in the league. And now We are the World Champs!!!

My fav player Ticha has been here for 8 years. Yo for 7. They deserve it. I wish Mighty Mighty Ruthie was on the team still. I hope Ruthie and Jerry get a ring... They both deserve it.

Congrads to all my fellow long time Monarch fans. This is our reward for our devotion!

<puts his water bottle in the air >

Cheers!:D

I wish I could have been there, but it was exciting watching on TV. The excitment at the arena must have been something. They showed the presentation of the MVP and championship awards after the game. Thank you Monarchs, for such a great season. This is something I will remember for a long time. I can only imagine how all of you who went to the game must feel this morning. Congratulations to the

WORLD CHAMPION
SACRAMENTO MONARCHS.
