Welcome to KingsFans.com, RutgersKnights. We love Chelsea here. We'll take more defensive players where she comes from.

Oh, and Cometsluv4play (one of our friends here) is from Monroe, LA (Chelsea's home town). He is headed there from the Houston/Galveston area to get away from Hurricane Rita.

Thank you for the welcome. The Monarchs are my second favorite team in the WNBA and will follow them throughout the year. They are fun to watch, because it is like watching my Rutgers team. I love defense.

He was loooking veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery hard at Cappie Pondexter last year in the event she decided to not use the year of eligibilty she had left for the 05-06 college season. So if something weird happens and Cappie isn't a lottery pick like she's projected to be - he may get lucky and be able to reunite her and Chelsea.... ;)

As a side note I saw the paper this morning and again the great work that Arrington did to give the contract status of all the players and the implications of the expansion draft. Whiz may just be able to keep from losing a current player to the Chicago team afterall. I'm very intrigued to see what he does.

Yo also quietly confirmed in that same Bee story that next year is it for her. Which should provide this team that extra incentive to repeat this feat next year. Once the euphoria wears off, the fact that next year may indeed essentially be her farewell tour will hit me a little harder.

MBF - That was YOU I saw on TV congratulating Yo, wasn't it?

Have you guys come back down to earth yet?

I am SO incredibly happy for those of you who have put your heart and soul behind the Monarchs all this time. I was actually sitting here with tears of joy streaming down my face, partially for the team - of course - but I think more for people like you and 6th and RoyalDiva and nancgo and all the other loyal Monarchs fans who have now had one of their fondest dreams fulfilled!

:D

Wow...you are the 2nd person to ask me that...no it wasn't me. I was talking with Mr4play yesterday and he thought he saw me congratulating Yo too. But now I wish it was. ;) Now unless I completely blanked out mentally after the final horn sounded last night, and have no recollection of anything I did between then and Weds morning, that wasn't me.

Will my doppleganger please stand up ;)

Nope, I still haven't come back down to earth yet. ;)

Thanks for clearing that up, MBF. I didn't have any recollection of you running down the aisles heading to center court to hug Yo. But then I thought maybe you did it while I was jumping up and down, screaming my head off. Those poor Sun fans between us, heh.

I've been known to do that, run down aisles randomly hugging people. I have stories ;)... so it is entirely within the realm of possibilty that given the opportunity and if I remember being able to make my legs move at the time, I mighta done that. But since you didn't see me move, then I'm pretty confident it wasn't me. ;)

Those CT fans actually were pretty sedate, the folks behind us were the rowdier ones and they actually were more raucus on Sunday. I think after Sales hit a 3 during their run on Sunday, somebody yelled something and made somebody either in the row in front of me turn around or a couple of rows down - and the one of the CT fans said "what are you looking at" And I almost thought something was going to start between them.

I didn't see "her" running down the aisle, etc. It looked as though Yo had come up into the crowd to hug her... having only met you once, I guess I was wrong but she had your smile!!!!

Funny, I don't remember hearing a peep from the people in back of us. Yes, the ones besides me only shouted a couple words of encouragement or cheered when their team scored. No being bad sports when they lost, either. Interesting about what you said happened on Sunday-of all the WNBA games I have gone to, I've never seen or experienced any arguments between audience members. That is one of the reasons I slightly like going to M's games better than the Kings.

Yes, but we couldn't see what it was, so it must of been something very small, like a water-bottle cap. Probably from a disgruntled Sun fan. ;)

Yes, apparently late in the game someone threw something on the court. They did not tell us what was thrown, and I could not see what it was. They announced in the arena not to throw things onto the court. Yo came over by the scorers table and screamed up into the crowd, "Don't be stupid."

OMG, I think I'm going to get teary eyed again....when I watched the replay when I got home and saw the two of them hug I started crying. That is an awesome photo.

Doesn't happen all that often during M's games but I saw a couple of folks nearly come to blows last year during the time they first started throwing the full sized basketballs into the stands. Then a few years ago a couple of people nearly went at it after the game on the concourse. One of those really frustrating ugly Monarchs losses and people were a little surly to begin with. I don't however ever think I've seen people throwing stuff onto the court tho, that definitely was a low-light for the evening.

Interesting article about the expansion draft, looks like (if I read correctly)

Ticha - UFA, but wants to stay in Sac.
Chelsea - Must Sign
Nicole - Protected
Becky - Protected
Yo - Contract to 2006

Kristin - Must Sign
Kara - Protected
Maiga - RFA
DeMya - Contract to 2006
Erin - RFA
Olympia - UFA

Do we have to protect Yo and DeMya if they are under contract, and do we have to protect our RFA's? If not, then we should be able to keep almost everyone, but if we do, then it looks like we still won't lose much.

One thing I wish I could hear was the last part of the game broadcast by Koz and Krista, just to hear them announcing and celebrating the win.

Also-who was that guy in the red shirt and bball cap who kept coming out onto the court now and then to announce things, be a cheerleader, hand out prizes? Just curious. I had never seen that happen at either a Kings/M's game before. was it just a special occasion kind of thing?

Thanks everyone for your picture in words of what it must have been like to be there in person. I was out of town for Tuesdays game (although we were there for Sundays) glued to the TV. Imagine my absolute HORROR when the feed went out for the final 45 seconds of the game. Thank God for radio and a boyfriend with enough wits to locate one and turn it on instead of cursing frantically at the TV like I was doing;)

Diva, that's Big Mike (I'm assuming from your discription) He is a fairly recent innovation (last couple of years?)

On M's talk they said they might use the two hours next week to rebroadcast the game or highlights of it.

The M's have had an on court MC since I wanna say 1999 (because that's as far back as I remember them having one) and the first person I remember was Tina Machua from KMAX 31. She went a few years and was replaced by Sandra Furlong, also of KMAX (and future Mrs Kozimor) and I believe Shawn Allen replaced her. Either that or they went a year without one because I'm pretty sure he's been here at least two years.

Im still giddy as a schoolboy. Are we are dreaming?!:D

Big Mike has to be one of the most irritating people since Roop The Hoop.

Koz was talking about having a last MonarchsTalk with the game being played but he said he wasnt sure. I guess we will have to wait and see.

I'll admit I filled my little WNBA game bag that they handed out with the falling confetti. And it's a keepsake. :D

LOL My camera bag left Arco just filled with the stuff. I put it into a large ziplock bag when I got home and filled the bag with air.

Whenever you shake it.... instant Arco! :D

Wow!!!!

So this is what it feels like!!!

Actually When your a fan of your NBA team wins the World Championship is completely different from when your WNBA team wins a championship. There is not much prestige in the WNBA championship.
