Yi headed to Golden State?

A co-worker just told me that Yi might be headed to GS. He said he heard it while listening to station 1320. He said someone from ESPN was mentioning this. If this is true, for crying out loud, why isn't the Kings trying to make a trade.

I haven't seen anything about this so maybe it's just a rumour.
The Kings really don't have the right pieces to make a trade work for Milwaukee IMO. Whereas GS will probably be giving up Wright as well as a few other nice trading pieces they have.
I have a feeling that at the very least, Geoff inquired to see if they could work something out.

Better - at least we would be trying to get younger. But I don't feel we have the right players to make a trade go down.

Been reading up on this, supposedly Yi want out of Milwaukee before he even laces the shoes up. This situation might turn ugly.. Look for a trade to a CA team before the season. GS has the most to offer...

Would you trade your 2008 pick (unconditional) for Yi? At this point I don't think I would. I think GS would if it came to the point of Yi telling Milwaukee to screw off.. Milwaukee might have gotten more than they bargained for.

Milwaukee has these options...

GS trading Wright and a 2008 1st rounder for Yi..

Sacramento packaging a Bibby OR Artest + 2008 1st round pick (top 3 protected), + getting a crap salary player from Milwaukee in return?

Lakers trade Odom OR Bynum + 2008 first round pick, and they take a crap salary player from Milwaukee?

Forget Yi, if GS trades Wright for Yi we should try to get in on this and offer Milwaukee Artest+a top 10 protected pick or something in a deal for Wright. He is atleast sort of proven.

We may be trying and just whiffing left and right.

Is that better...or worse? ;)

Better or worse, what real trade assets do we have anyway? The only desirable trade commodities we have are Martin and future first rounders. And I'm not inclined to give up either unless it's something overwhelming.

I wouldn't fault Petrie for lack of trying - we're in a salary mess due to trying to win a championship in the glory years, and we all know we won't be able to trade our way out of it.

yeah, i agree with you i would rather have wright then yi. for some reason maybe just my opinion i don't think yi will be that great of a player, as of brandon wright i could see this guy killing in the nba because he could do it all in the post and a niffy shooting game, yi could be a possible Darko.

We have the worst to offer of those 3. GS could easily get it done if they wanted to. And the Lakers would not give up Bynum in that deal, they were reluctant to give it up in the KG/JO deals so why would they give him up for Yi? They wouldn't. And I don't think Kobe would be very happy if they traded Odom for a rookie who probably won't help for a few years. So, I think it's safe to say LA aren't in the running for Yi.

It could be true in a few years, but if I'm picking between those two now, I'm taking Yi. He has more tools to become a star. Faster, more athletic, better shooter.

lol Funny you say this because Yi is so unproven it's not even funny. Yi was going up against chumps, Wright has atleast done well against competition that will be in the NBA. I am so sick of the Yi hype it's not even funny. Dude is another Skita or Channing Frye at best.

When did I say Yi was proven? Typical mindset, this is why Americans are disliked by many Europeans and non-Americans when regarding sports. Fact is, college ball isn't that much better than the CBA. Chumps? Don't think so, buddy. Wright has done nothing except make his stock go down and show that he's not a good worker. He went from 3rd prospect to being picked at 8. Yi was floating around 8-10 for most of the year before he jumped to top 6 territory and was picked 6. I can't say that Yi will be a star because we don't know. But the fact it, he is more athletic than Wright, he is a better shooter and he has a much better work ethic. So yeah, I'd take Yi. Channing Frye? Do you know anything about Yi? He is ten times more athletic than Frye, and if you have Frye as his best case scenario then you know nothing about him. Fact.
