Thank God we didn't go after Ramon Sessions the way some people wanted to last season..

I know, which is why I'm thinking we're watching 2 different guys.
Martin takes charges, Cisco plays with a lot of heart and toughness.
I actually like Cisco, but he is scrawny, and he is a flopper on offense. Famous for it. You either know that or your purple homeer glasses are opaque from overtinting. As some people's around here are. He kicks his feet, throws himself on the ground always looking for a call. Not a single current King does that, with the possible execption of Beno every once in a blue moon. Even Noc has cut most of that out of his defensive game.
And Kevin, yeah LOL. Its unfortunate I am not a betting man or I could have earned a lot of money off the of the silly Peja/Kevin fandom around here over the years. Yeah. Toughness personified there.
Scrawny floppers. Both of them. But at least move Cisco from SF to OG where he's no longer the 90lb weakling and limit his minutes and his ego and $$ are not so great that they necessarily trump his versatility and scrap. On the other hand Kevin is the anti of everything we are now. And softness and apathy is like a disease. It spreads. That old team form the past few years is mercifully dead and gone. Let's leave it buried and move forward with something much better.
Last season's woes had more to do with Artest's ego and inconsistency and distractions, Beno's injuries, and poor coaching.
But to blame all that on the two bright spots, Martin and Garcia, is mind-boggling.
What is mind boggling is that you would attempt to blame last seaon's woes on Ron Artest, who was playing for Houston at the time. And Beno's injuries when he played in 73 games.
Calling anybody from last season a bright spot with the possible exception of Jason requires again some really nifty glasses. Especially people that came to personify everything that was wrong with us.
I like Cisco, Always have always will.
He tends to flop a bit, but I wouldnt refer to him as soft. Kind of like Manu .. Look up flop in the dictionary and youll see a picture of him, but he is tough as nails and you want him on your team.
IF we trade Martin and Nocioni ( two ideas Im coming around too ) then Garcia will fit in with this squard perfectly.
I find it funny that people think Westphal will make it all work when these guys come back. He has done an excellent job this year, but I guarentee you he wont be able to make NBA games longer. And thats the only way all these guys will get PT.
We either need a trade or someone to get hurt, If neither of these things happen the second half of the season is going to be a lot less exciting.
The last few seasons tend to run together for me. Awful coaching, awful players, no direction, too many distractions.
So I'm confused, are you not a Kings fan like everyone else here?
The irony is that you accidentally hit upon something real about last season -- I was in favor of acquiring Ron, and then after getting an up close look at him I decided he was an irredeemable nut and was in favor of dumping him. But once he was was dumped the other part of the truth was revealed. When he first showed up our merry band of softies was well on its way to missing the playoffs. He arrived, assumed leadership, and led us ot the playoffs one last time aghainst the Spurs. When he left, nut or not he took every ounce of fight and guts we had with him, and what was left was exposed for the spineless soulless crew that completely quit on the season last year.
As a rookie poster I'll just let that last part slide.
OK, but I'm curious why you are exempt from wearing "purple homer glasses", that's all.
"Purple homer glasses" is pretty much Bricklayer-speak for "apologist." Being a fan of a team does not require you to only see/discuss the positive things.

Call it the gift of rationality.
Be careful mi amigo, your treading in dangerous waters here..![]()
Sorry, it was an honest question. There are people who post at fan sites that are fans of other teams. I meant no offense.
LOL you should have been here 2 years ago.
I don't know if anyone has ever asked me that...I've seen an awful lot of negativity here as well. What's the ratio of positive/negative opinions that get you in the "I'm completely unbiased therefore my opinion carries more weight that your's club"?

I hereby declare myself KingsFans.com's sole arbiter of whether or not someone belongs in the "I'm completely unbiased therefore my opinion carries more weight that your's club." All decisions are final, selectees will be notified by mail.
While I don't completely agree with Bricky's critique of Martin and Cisco, there are merits to it. On the other hand, I agree completely that there's no way to bring both those players back without disrupting the current team to some extent. You could find a spot for Cisco by trading Nocioni. To me Cisco is a slightly more athletic clone of Nocioni. And was a more consistant spot up shooter prior to his injury. But Martin is going to affect the rotation. Someone's minutes are going to suffer. My guess is that the minutes will come from Sergio and Beno. While neither of them are great defenders, they at least have been willing defenders.
I can't say for a fact that I know it won't work. But it scares me. These guys are starting to know one another on the court. You can see it in small increments. The timeing, and the eye contact. The little things that separate the good teams from the bad teams. Chemistry is a fragile thing sometimes. It scares me to screw with it.
Bring me the finest meats and cheeses in all the land!
And you will collect all the dues as well?
Is Cisco even due back this season? I thought he was pretty much done for most of it.
