Who is available as 6th-7th pick

Charlotte apparently wants Len, but Zeller is in the mix too.


As for trading back to get two first rounders, I'd be a lot more excited if I didn't know that they're going to take Snell and Robinson Jr. I'd go with Karasev and Noguiera if we were to get two firsts, but that won't happen.
 
Zeller seems like a much safer pick than Len to me. You know what you will get with Zeller, good pick and roll and pick and pop player, runs the floor, plays hard, good character, fundamentally much more sound. Len has bust written all over him to me.
 
Go for Adams. To my mind, he has a very high ceiling. If you think he's going to be diligent in working on his game, I'd take him for a project if Porter, Oladipo and Len are gone. Put him in the D league for a year. Coach him up to get a feel for the game. It's highly doubtful you get a guy in this draft that is going to make an immediate impact, so I'd rather get the high ceiling project like Adams.

I tell ya, Adams is tempting, based on our big need there. If you felt confident he could develop a passable offensive game, and were convinced that he will be a good defender, with potential to be elite defender/shot blocker... boy that would be hard not to pull the trigger. Great character and personality too. I'm a bit biased as I'm a big fan of New Zealand in general, visited two times for a month each time, made great friends that I have to this day. The people there are just fantastic. Tough as hell, but the most sociable people I've ever met. It was kind of amazing that there really just didn't seem to be the normal percentage of kinda douchy, negative, selfish, or drama-oriented people. It's like they have great mental health as a country. The national psyche is also infused with a strong sense of self-reliance and inventiveness. They have a phrase "New Zealand ingenuity". It refers to how New Zealanders are resourceful, cheerful, and self-contained, and they have a sense of pride about that trait. They are sociable, yet are individualistic, too, they don't have a heard mentality. They ALL think America is just hilarious because of how easily influenced the public seems to be by the mainstream media. They truly are independent thinkers. I sense those same quaities in Adams.

It's weird, because I don't dislike McCollum, I think he's got great character, good competitiveness, can shoot, can create his own shot better than most in this draft, shows some potential as a playmaker, and has very good defensive intensity, but I feel like he just has to go above and beyond what he is right now for him to really add something new to this team. It's the first year where I'm really starting to reconsider the value in taking your roster into account when drafting, but apparently the Kings aren't if they're this serious about McCollum. Not that he can't play off the ball, but he's a scorer, and it's not a good bet that he'd develop the PG abilities anywhere near Curry's. I really think they should consider Adams, because he could be the best long term fit of the bunch, but I totally understand not wanting to take a risk on a guy that raw at this point. If they pass on Burke for McCollum though, I'm going to be very disappointed.
 
McCollum definitely raises some questions. But he also seems like the only guy out of this draft that might average 20+ points a game someday. Best case scenario, of course.

I think he will surprise people that he can distribute. He's pretty straightforward in his interviews that he only had doctors and lawyers to pass to at Lehigh.
 
Per Wojnarowski, who is very reliable, the Magic will take Oladipo at 2, although they're still listening to offers. But if it's not traded, they'll take Oladipo. Also says it's likely that Bennett slides, possibly to 10. So good chance he'll be there for us at 7. To be honest, poor fit or not, I'm much prefer him to McCollum.
 
Adams has a pretty uncommon combination of frame and athleticism, I don't think enough people appreciate that. He has a lot to learn on the offensive end, but he's definitely not hopeless there, especially when he's still so early in his learning curve. He progressed all year long, and shows good instincts with his positional D. You probably will have to wait for him though, and that's a hard thing to ask a franchise to do, especially one in such a radical transition.

There's been some concerning red flags with him, so I don't know since he doesn't complement Cousins very well. Tough choice.

There's a few that could average that at some point, it's not that hard really for perimeter players to average 20 ppg at some point in their career. For someone at McCollum's size, it's difficult to become that consistently if you don't pan out as a PG.

If they can't trade up to get Porter or Oladipo, I hope they can trade down to get the two Utah picks. The could have Adams, Gobert, Schroeder, Dieng, in that range.

Lots of rumors, and I feel we are going to make a trade today. I just don't see the Kings picking at 7 and 36 and that's it. PDA will start shaping the roster tonight.

We need to seriously look into purchasing a pick or two. We missed out a few years ago when we could have purchased a pick and either have taken DeAndre Jordan or Mario Chalmers.

Not huge names there, but I am loving Chalmers game and he's able to adjust his game to play in the Heat rotation. DeAndre would have been a nice shot blocker.
 
Draft Express is usually spot on, so I see us taking CJ McCollum at 7.. Unless they change it in the next half hour or so. I really want Burke :(
