That I didn't know.. I haven't followed this draft as much as I would like to so I need to catch up on some reading in the next couple days!
Hopefully if the Kings draft Noel by some chance he will not have those issues.
Personally I have a feeling (even though I do not want him) that Shabazz Muhammad will be a stud in regards to individual talent. I would not be surprised if he won ROY but I have a feeling his team game will not be helpful though.

That was interesting, for sure. Shows how little respect scouts have for this draft (I realize this is a made-up scout based on 5 scouts opinions.)

Lot of varying opinions on Shabazz... Harrison Barnes is a common comparison but I've even heard James Harden. His dad just got busted for embezzlement or something like that... not sure if that'll effect his stock any.That I didn't know.. He is neither ballhandler nor passer, so Harden seems a long way off aside from the old man saavy to his game (I evoked Harden with him, but only for that limited purpose). If he was 6'8" you could look at him in a Meloish sort of light. But at 6'5"...that's what makes it tough. He's Reke sized and its looking like a classic size does matter issue for him now. What was a dominant size for his position in high school is actually flat out small by the time you reach the NBA. And without ballhandling abilities, its hard for him to slide downward to where his size would be NBA appropriate.

Agreed for sure. I was one of Barnes' biggest supporters on this site last year. Not really feeling the Shabazz/Barnes comparison. Definitely not buying any Harden comparison for all of the reasons you mentioned. They're left handed scorers, that's about the end of the comparison. Shabazz might turn out great but he's not one of the seven best players in this draft imo so I don't have much interest in him.
I assume you mean a MCW/Thornton backcourt because IMO Tyreke and Carter-Williams would be a disaster.

6'6 (with shoes) is a decent size for SG. He's got the Rock build (220s) and he's got a decent wingspan (almost 7ft).
Again though, I don't want him, I just think he's going to be a decent scorer, and if he learned to pass the ball sometimes he could become a good pro.

His natural position is sf though... he's probably gonna be forced into playing mostly sg.

That's assuming that our SF isn't a 3pt threat... Get someone like Budinger and it changes the complexion of the team.

I know this thread is titled for the 7th pick, but what about the 36th pick? One guy who might be under the radar is Goodwin. He didn't live up to expectations in his year at college, but he does have a lot of interesting tools and could be a great value pick. I see him being most successful as a PG in the NBA, and I think with the right development he could be a very serviceable player. What is your take on Goodwin?

Yeah, I'm beginning to feel this way too. Evans is maybe the one player that seems tailor-made for exhibiting the core values Malone stressed in his press conference. Hard for me to imagine they let a building block like that just walk away, especially when there's a decent chance you can land him starting at just less than 10M/yr.
I'd have to go with Zeller with the 7th pick. The Kings need to get smarter and draft hard workers. He can run the floor, is 7' tall, good shooter, and I like his work habits/hustle. I like the idea of Cousins, Thompson, Paterson, and Zeller as our big men moving forward this year.

I still wouldn't want Evans and MCW in the back court together regardless of how well the SF could shoot.
BUT, I would love to see Burke/Evans/Budinger together. It's an interesting combo of players.

I think Burke is a distinct possibility. Especially with the Bledsoe to the Magic rumors, every team ahead of us is set with at PG.
Not saying someone won't go BPA, but there's no team, other than Orlando with a distinct need for a PG. I would love to get our hands on Burke

I like it on paper too. A lot of versatility with that group. Definitely lacking in defense but you have a couple of guys that can move pretty well and guard other stretch fours. Cousins defending the post is gonna have to improve regardless if he's ever gonna reach his potential.
I agree with you on Cousins. Zeller is strong, but just needs to add weight. He's 19, so he should be able to gain some weight over the next few years. At this point, the Kings need more talent. They missed on their last two drafts and need to know exactly what they are getting this year. If Burke was taller, I'd look at him as well. However, I'd rather keep Thomas and look to resign Douglas on the cheap instead.

No defense is the issue there. Zeller can replace a JT or a Patterson, but somebody on that frontline has to be able to block shots and protect the paint. Zeller ain't that. We've got plenty of solid bigs, plenty of solid everything. But we don't have the right type of guys with styles that support each other. Cousins needs a majorly defensive wingman.

what would it take to pry Sanders from Milwallkee. They could end up with no guard play. I am guessing MT wouldn't be enough for Sanders would it? would have to shed some weight with our current bigs as well. I am all for a Salmons and Hayes for Sanders but I doubt that would happen. To much money going to Milwalkee that way.
ESPN had a blurb that we're trying to trade Jimmer for a mid to late 1st rounder where apparently Malone loves Hardaway and Snell. Not sure I love this move. Jimmer hasn't done much but unless a no brainer deal came along, I'd like to see if the right system/roles could change anything. And I really don't get the Snell love, let alone Hardaway from Malone. Hardaway is a poor perimeter defender, ok athlete and inconsistent shooter. I don't think he gives you much more than we already have.
