I would rather take my chances in teh draft and develop someone rather than pick up another marginal player.
Or just trade for someone like a Gasol, or Howard.
Haslem-no
Nene-meh (although he still is young, and can heal but hasn't proved jack, plus he is not the defender we want.)
Griffin-maybe (can block shots, and rebound, but if I had to give up too much than I say no)
Joe Smith-wtf why? KT is better than Joe Smith at this point
Jason Collins- hell no. I would take a one legged brad miller over this stiff
David West- nah. Put SAR on NOK and he would avg 17-7, but it is getting better!
Jared Jeffries-No way.. Where the hell would we put this guy?
Chris Webber-hehe
West_Gunslinger16: Now he is thinking what I am thinking(except k-mart, and Tim Thomas hehe)
No offense anyone, but we are tying to make our team better. Only a couple of those guys above would do that, and only slightly. I do like Griffin, but he hasn't proved that he can play starter type minutes and put forth an effort like he has in 20 minutes. If he started at PF, and gave us 10ppg 11rpg, and 3bpg than I would pull the trigger, but as you can see the games he got to start he was VERY inconsistant.
BMiller52 said:The point of this topic is seeing what realistic option people want that is a good defender. I mean you can say "well I only want one of the best guys at PF" but Toronto isn't looking to trade Bosh just to make the kings better. Orlando isn't looking to trade Howard just to make the kings better. Memphis isn't looking to trade Gasol just to make the kings better.

Gary said:Than what's the point of picking up avg, to below avg players that don't get minutes on a bad team? I would rather draft and develop than take chances in a trade and have to give up our own players. Or wait to sign a FA.
When describing Joe Smith it sounds like a description of KT.
West is probally someone I would take a chance on. But he wouldn't make our team any better throwing him in at PF until we got that center.
Jason Collins.. Post defender. That's it. That's about as one dimentional as they come.

But he would be a perfect guy for our system, he is an excellent post defender, blocks shots, a decent rebounder. On the offensive side he can post up, but he can also space out the floor cause he is a good 3 point shooter, and with Wells, Artest or SAR operating in the post that would be very good. I don't think Detroit will be trading him anytime soon, but his style of play is definately something that would be very good for us and put us over the top IMO.
kingme783 said:yo we have to go with drew gooden of the cavs because he's everything we need in a PF (rebounding, and solid defense) he's one of the top offensive rebounders in the league and if we can't sign him as a free agent i dont see a risk in trading for him because he is a very solid PF who can start. i say trade SAR and Hart to the cavs for Gooden and Damon Jones. Jones can be a great back up for Bibby because of his shooting ability.
